  1. I like your optimism, but remember...Shreveler is a rookie. Even Doug Flutie was less than 50 percent completion percentage in his 1st year in the CFL.
  2. What?? There is no easy wins against Reilly led teams. If we squeak out a win, i will be extremely happy.
  3. Hilarious! But also might be close to reality.
  4. I like Rod Black... his broadcasting that is... -I remember him way back in his days doing sports on CKY, thought he was good.
  5. James Wilder Jr. (I might pick him or Harris every week). Who is Calgary's RB? That would be another safer pick for another week.
  6. Let's hope he is not overwhelmed. Edmonton starting D at times will come after him, and at other times will stack the box and make him throw. (Yeah, I know Captain Obvious). Just manage the game. A reasonable game would be no more than 1 pick with a few good drives. Let Bowman, Dressler, Harris catch short ones and make plays. Can we stay close with Edmonton in this one? It might take a minor miracle.
  7. Gutsy move to start Shreveler. I didn't see it coming. Hope it doesn't hurt the guys long term development. But I do like it and, as has been said, he might have a higher ceiling than Ross. I'm excited for Thursday.
  8. I'm sure he does. But it wasn't his choice to leave. We didn't offer him a contract. He deserved a decent raise and we wanted to start 3 Canadian O - lineman. Hopefully he can catch on elsewhere.
  9. Or maybe Shreveler starts the season and does very well. I think if our defense shows up and we dominate on special teams maybe all that will be asked of our young QB ( whoever that may be) is to "maintain" the game...don't turn the ball over etc.
  10. Unfortunately when I think about Robert Gordon I remember the year Geroy Simon wanted to come back to the CFL and Brendan Taman told him we didn't have room for him. Of course no one knew what a star Simon would become in B.C. The receivers we had at that point were great- Stegall, Arland Bruce, and Robert Gordon, but man oh man...adding Simon??!!
  11. Anyone go to camp today? I need news...any news
  12. Anyone go to camp today? I need news...any news
  13. Chris Shultz was just on 620 radio (Regina) talking to Rod Peterson. Shultz predicted Toronto and Winnipeg in this years Grey Cup.
  14. Although the TSN video package did include a shot of Winnipegs most famous fan - Dancin' Gabe!
  15. Agreed. And it looks like it's 3rd string. Not sure if they want to keep Bennett around as a 3rd stringer, but if Ross doesn't show some promise then what else do they do?
  16. Jay Walker...not here for long...but he sure looked good in the 2 games he got into. Was I ever sad when we traded for Kerwin Bell and then Walker refused to come back.
  17. West will be tight...maybe tighter than last year. Calgary, Edmonton, and us could all have less wins as a result. Doesn't mean we are worse, just more competition.
  18. Not going to answer this question at this point. Too early. Let's all settle down a bit.
  19. I like hearing this. I think our defense will be better. I feel though, that for us to compete for 1st in the west (which I think we can do) our defense doesn't need to be the best in the league...it just needs to be better, probably top 3. Our offense is a top 3 offense. Our special teams is up there. Just got to get our defense there.
  20. Agree with keeping JSK and Wilson. However, if they can keep Wild in any way, shape, or form, they will. The guy is good on special teams, has played all LB positions, and according to Darrin Bauming is a great leader in the locker room. (It sounds like he is future coach material).
