  1. Seriously guys...who do you think Montreal has even a chance of beating this season? Anyone think they can even win 1 game this season?
  2. IMHO and from what I've heard Dressler is still the smartest, fastest, most competitive receiver we have. We really need him this year. As to what happens next year, well, we'll worry about that next January.
  3. I'm assuming you meant to say "not like" or just "unlike"...as Adams is a mobile QB. If Adams goes to Montreal I wish him the best...until we play them again.
  4. Agreed. Not a snow-ball's chance in Hell that Mike O'Shea will leave Nichols on the sidelines once he is healthy.
  5. Agreed. It's a little early to say this, but I think this is the first time in a looong time that we have more than one Canadian receiving threat on this team (might have to go back as far as Poplawski and House).
  6. Don't worry about the Argos. They only have to win a few at the end of the season to make the playoffs... 🙄
  7. I'm cheering for Toronto of course, but this one could be Calgary by a mile.
  8. I'm curious to see what the QB rankings will be after this week.
  9. One thing that was mentioned on CJOB postgame that we need to keep in mind...Shreveler has benefited from learning on a very good, talent laden offense here. Put Shreveler in Montreal and what happens? I don't know, but we probably don't see the guy develop. Put him in behind centre in some of our scarry (bad) offenses and offensive lines of the past and what happens? Sadly, he may just be another forgotten name. I've brought this up numerous times, but years ago Tom Clements played in Saskatchewan, was running for his life behind a bad O line, and did diddly squat. My point - The Bomber offense is benefiting from Shreveler, but he is also benefitting from our good offense, good vets, and good co-ordinator.
  10. Jamie Nye of 650/980 radio predicted that the score would be 40-15... I texted him that he will be very close (he just got a little mixed up with the team's, that's all)... oh, I love it when the Riders lose!!
  11. I' m guessing they use Moe Leggett sparingly as a DB this game, bringing him in as an extra DB on obvious passing situations. Excited to see him as a KR though. Leggett doing kickoffs and Fogg doing punts...thats a good unit.
  12. Okay. It's looking like I am not thinking for myself and picking the popular choice and that is exactly the truth... Andrew Harris
  13. Head stratching statement. The point is...what a QB accomplishes (or doesn't) in his 1st game is not nessasarily a predictor of his future success (or lack thereof). Although I do agree that we need to temper our enthusiasm for Streveler. The sample size is pretty small at this point.
  14. I never get tired of Brock stories...my favorite player ever. Thanks...and puts rookie starts in perspective.
  15. Oh you guys should hear the sports radio personalities (mostly Nye and Peterson) out here in Saskatchewan. They were just rolling in glee because of the Rider victory. Essentially said that beating Toronto was an indication of where the team was at now - beating a Grey Cup champion. ...sometimes I have to come on here just to get de-toxified from having to live in Rider land.
  16. Gale is a warm body anyway. That's what we need right now. The rules don't allow us to dress an extra import instead of that 3rd QB so Gale is here. Hopefully Shreveler and Bennet can do the job until Nicholls gets back.
  17. I have only seen a few quarterbacks as elusive on a consistent basis as Reilly in my lifetime....Tracy Hamm, Damon Allan, and Doug Flutie come to mind.
  18. Yah it will be the same Drew Willy. The guy needs a monster offensive line where he can have 5 steamboats. We can get to him. He is not like that slippery bugger in Edmonton. I say minimum 5 sacks for us.
  19. Leggett might be. Not sure who Wild would take off the roster though.
  20. Do the same refs always do Calgary games??? It's like, "Oh, Calgary's playing. That must be a penalty on the opposition!" I get sick of the refs favoring Bo Levi and the red shirts.
  21. That would be CNN. But anyways, people often get on O' Shea for making bad decisions...but NOT challenging that P.I. was really dumb. Not sure what Trestman was thinking. That cost Toronto the game!!
  22. I initially refused to vote on this forum question, but now will say "Yes". I believe Shreveler is the real deal. I think this guy will be a team' s #1 QB in 3 years...I just hope it is with us. He is smart (almost finished 2nd Masters degree), athletic, has a good arm, and has some leadership skills. The silver lining to Matt's injury is this guy will get much needed playing time which will only make us a better team.
  23. Shreveler played like a rookie on that last drive, although I think we should have given our best player - Harris - the ball.
  24. We stayed in it. Played it closer then I expected, but disappointed to lose like that. Defense gave in in the 4th. It's like Reilly willed the win, and there's nothing we could do about it. Somehow we have to get better on D. Offense will improve.
  25. I second this. I would be disappointed with any loss, but I hope to see some potential with Shreveler.
