  1. We can sit here and say... just waive thorburn Burmi Stuart etc to the Moose but.. getting a pick for them is better than losing them for free I guess. You don't want to risk losing a guy for nothing when you could have got something even a 5th 6th 7th round pick for him. Seems stupid but... asset management is important
  2. Perhaps more say on who gets called up. I think maurice will decide who goes down and I think elc contracts play a role also Copp Dano Petan all on ELC No waivers required. De Leo also. So that probably plays a role.
  3. I'd imagine Chevy has some say in who plays or doesn't but I'd suspect it's 75 25 Maurice. Let's use Burmi as an example. .. rumor is they are shopping him... so maybe Chevy would tell Maurice to make sure he plays so they can "showcase" him.
  4. D man get paid by putting up points. Trouba has been good but he's never gonna get paid a ton because he doesn't put up points
  5. He will be one day. Jets finish bottom 10 again and I don't think he's back next season. How many years left on his deal? How many left for Ducky in Barrie? Bet it's the same and bet if the team struggles and has the same issues it's had under Maurice... Ducky is here sooner than ppl think.
  6. Even with the Jets... 199 games coached 96 wins.
  7. 1283 games coached in the nhl 556 wins.
  8. The point being.... he favors veterans even if they are underperforming ones to younger players. Go ask a Carolina fan (if you can find one, about Maurice) it's the same old story.
  9. The difference between O'shea and Maurice is O'shea actually shows sign of learning from his past mistakes. Great example would be leaving in loffler when macho was obviously healthy. Maurice would pull loffler once the vet wad healthy. Petan Dano Copp have all been good and when little stafford and MP are healthy will be sent down and Burmi and thorburn will still play
  10. I'll give you an example of a fundamental problem You call up De Leo.... high energy guy with a non stop motor. Your team is quite obviously gassed and tired. You leave Burmi and thorburn in... and the fresh legs of De Leo sits. Now does De Leo make a difference? Probably not but he's got fresh legs and for a team that's gassed and tired... where is the logic in not playing him instead of Burmi or Thor.
  11. And if you think armia is more important than drew stafford on a Paul Maurice coached team you are talking out of yours
  12. I don't think they make a huge difference. Would they be less gassed after 10 games in 18 days? There are fundamental problems with this team and it's on coaching
  13. I don't disagree with the idea of this topic. I think maurice definitely makes lots of very questionable roster decisions. I think he definitely favors vets and vets can cost you goals every game and they don't get reprimanded. A rookie does that and he's benched. And I don't think Maurice is the RIGHT coach for a fast skilled team.... but.... crazy schedule bunch of top 6 players out.... yeah.... it's tough. But I'm not sure little Perreault or stafford makes a huge difference in the big picture
  14. TUP is right. The schedule has been a disaster for sure. 10 games in 18 nights is stupid. It's caught up to them.
  15. I actually think that the bombers would be putting up a better performance than the Lions are
  16. Jets are a tired gassed team. Being out shot 10 3. 1 0 Canes. Helle made 4 saves prior to that one getting by him. Bench a Vet Maurice... Buff
  17. The Jets do it to certain media guys also. Usually the same guys the bombers show the disdain for.
  18. Cummings is more of a DL/ DT. Corney is a DE
  19. None here. Just some minor flakes this morning but didn't stick
  20. In a game where we are out shot 38 12 and had 7 or 8 shots through 2 periods? Hutch was pretty Damn good today. You know who wasn't? The rest of the team... the worst one might have been Buff
  21. Ask people in Iraq and Afghanistan what they think about the USA bombing them for the last what 14 years
  22. I would say the stat of the game is 8 shots on goal through 2 periods
  23. We are pretty close to a record in terms of days with no snow on the ground.
  24. I've read many articles that state NAFTA was a whole lot better and more fair to Canada and the USA years ago. So if we go back to let's say 10 years ago... I think we are better off. Mexico pays people peanuts and seem to benefit the most from the current agreement. I think Obama and Harper for that matter did some good things but I think they also did some things that perhaps weren't in the best interest of the majority of Canada and USA interests. Trump will be interesting. I actually agree with his immigration stance. I don't think illegals or criminals should be allowed to stay. I don't think families should be torn apart however if your family member is in the US illegally... well, to bad so sad in my opinion. I don't think all Muslims are terrorists either and I don't think it's smart to single out a group of people based on their religion. But.... Trump said what he said because he wanted to win. He won so I'd suspect that most of the stuff he promised he'd do.... he won't. He said he'd drain the swamp bug the people he is giving jobs in his administration to, well, not exactly draining the swamp. Trump took advantage of people's stupidity. Has said he loves stupid uneducated people... why? Cuz they are easy to manipulate. Not all 60 million people who voted for him are... but I'd suspect a large chunk Is.
  25. Nichols. Bennett. Adams. Bass. Burnett. Bryant. Medlock. Remple are the major ones. Denmark and Gurley are on the next group. Cummings would be nice to have back but I think Padric Scott could take his place.
