Jets don't need Staal. Canes probably don't need myers either. Jets really like myers and Myers really likes Winnipeg. If a d man is dealt it will be enstrom because he's older and probably won't be signed at age 33 when his contract is up. Enstrom probably gets you a 1st and prospect. Mark Stuart was a first round pick when he was drafted. Trouba is worth more than Marincin, Marincin is a bottom pairing D man. Plus JVR isn't needed. If Trouba is gonna be traded, he won't be, but if he is, it will be a blockbuster for sure. It won't be for a bottom pairing D man, a 2nd and a guy who is UFA in 2 years.

If big if... the jets trade trouba you can pretty much better all your money that they would want a young expansion drafted exempt LHD. They won't trade him for a forward. Regardless of what Bobby Hull did or didn't do b4 90 percent of today's fan base was around... for his on ice contributions he deserves to be recognized. I'm not old enough but even 20 years ago when I was a wee little one the world wasn't as PC as it is today. Is Bobby Hull a bad guy? Perhaps he was but perhaps getting older has changed the guy. I mean lots of athletes in their younger days were huge douches off the ice. Keith Tkachuk comes to mind. But with age he's chilled. I guess... what if the jets decided to honor Thomas Steen? How would people feel about that cuz he's been quite douchey after his career was over. But as a player like hull was one of the best to wear a jets jersey.

I'll just add this, I don't expect Drew Willy to be perfect, i don't care if he throws for 300 yards or 400 yards or 200 yards... It's irrelevant, but... what is concerning so far is his lack of accuracy on the deep ball, his lack of protecting the ball let's say in key situations, that interception in the third last night, that's a dumb throw... No justifying that one. It's just a bad dumb throw in to triple coverage. I think he might have potential still but... the more games that go by, the more i think perhaps that potential just isn't there anymore. Perhaps Drew Willy's best football has already been played. He looks like he's regressing to me and for a guy to be regressing but getting paid like an elite cfl starting QB, i'm not sure how anyone can justify his play. He's being paid 400,000. He's not playing like a 400,000 dollar QB tho. Not sure he's even playing like a 100,000 dollar QB.

I'll say this... Drew Willy is struggling but i feel he can still turn it around, Pavelec? nah, he's done for. That's actually not a fair comparison at all... Willy shows signs of being a good QB, Pavelec has had 5 or 6 years to show, he's well below NHL average in terms of numbers, save percentage and everything else. I'm just pointing out that i think Willy really struggled last game, i'm not oblivious to the other problems on the field, theres a few for sure but... one of the main ones is Willy can't throw a deep ball, he can't throw a pass 20 yards. He does get time to throw also, it's not like he's got guys in his face all game, he had time, he just didn't do anything with it. I will admit, i a fan of Drew WIlly, but... if this keeps up, i'm going to be losing my faith in him pretty soon. I was willing to give Willy 4 or 5 games to show that he's not shell shocked, that he can recover and become a good QB, but we will be going in to week 5 next week and so far, Willy hasn't been very good.

I was actually gonna use Pavelec as the example. Drew Willy right now is no different than Ondrej Pavelec, he is holding the team back. Only difference here tho is the Jets actually have a young guy in Hellebuyck who can take over. I'm not sure the bombers have a guy that's better than Drew Willy and upon further reflection, i don't think trading for a burris glenn or tate is a very good idea.

He's just the biggest problem on the team. The QB is the most important position on the team, he touches the ball every play the O is on the field... he is the biggest problem right now. By FAR.

Trying to defend Drew Willy for his piss poor performance this season is also a fools errand.

The so called "rebuild" won't be completed until we find a QB who can win some games. This team has tons of talent, they really do, they just lack a QB and it's pretty obvious that Drew Willy is not the solution anymore.

Give MOS a QB and he will be a great coach. You want to see this team really fall apart? Fire MOS and replace him with LAPO. Firing MOS does nothing, it doesn't make Drew Willy a better QB. and it certainly doesn't make the team any better. I would guess it would make the team a whole lot worse actually... Yup, how much worse could it get people will say? Fire MOS and you will see how much worse it can get.

Funny thing tho about that last drive... If Willy actually hits dressler in stride, the bombers win the game more than likely... but Dressler who had watkins beat had to stop because the ball was... under thrown badly. If Willy could have hit dressler in stride, dressler walks in untouched.

I don't think he's referring to the end of the game, he's referring to the entire game. The O did pretty much nothing once again, they put up a touchdown, but it was on a play that was called back by a dumb hands to the face block, they got that ball at the 20 yard line of Edmontons... in the third quarter, bombers were inside Edmonton territory again, this time, Willy stared down his receiver and threw the ball in to triple coverage only to be intercepted, well with in field goal range. The game is not won and lost on 1 or 2 plays, it's won or lost throughout the game and there were plenty of examples in this game of Willy just not getting the job done when it mattered. Bombers had some pretty great field position at times and the O did nothing with it, Is it all on Willy? Nah, but throwing balls in to the dirt, under throwing receivers who are wide open and throwing interceptions in to triple coverage certainly is. Let's play the what if game, even though it wouldn't be like this but... let's pretend for a moment, the bombers kick a fg instead of it being intercepted by Sheritt in the 3rd.. Let's just pretend the rest of the game is even....that makes the score 20-19 Edmonton, so instead of having to go for the TD at the end, a FG would have won the game. It's just playing pretend but... in a way, you can say the play that perhaps cost us the game was Willy throwing in to triple coverage in the third cuz you'd assume that we'd have kicked a fg there.

Nah. The Esks have a legit QB. The bombers don't. If a QB can't complete a pass it don't matter what the OC calls. That interception when the bombers were in fg range in the 3rd quarter... in to triple coverage. That's all Drew Willy. Stared adams down the whole time.

I think it's pretty obvious that you need a QB who is somewhat mobile in the pocket. Willy isn't that guy. You look at Reilly or Collaros or BLM... you see guys who can escape pressure and use their legs to move the pocket. Willy is pretty much a statue back there. If I'm a d coordinator playing against Willy... I blitz all game long. A few weeks ago I said I'd give Willy 4 or 5 games until I make a judgment on him. It's been 4 games and with average quarterback play we are probably 2 and 2. The O with Willy has basically done nothing now for 4 games.
