I think too many people are expecting us to go back to the old 4-3 system with two insane bookended DEs. I don't know a lot about this stuff but it seems to me that with the 3-4 that Younger seems to prefer, it'll be the same as it was last year, not because of lack of talent but just scheme. We're not gonna see the heavy pressure we used to have under Hall... Or that's what I seem to understand if it anyhow. 
 
Also, this seems like more than I was expecting....

Apparently that was Helle's 3rd straight regular season shutout of the Avs.  If only a certain playoff series hadn't happened, but an amazing stat nonetheless.
He now also has as many shutouts this year as he has regulation losses (6).

Kupari vs Gus is a conversation. Kupari is more offensive but worse defensively and Gus is the opposite. 
 
I still think the best 4th line Center on the Jets is Namesy 😉

Really impressed with how Kupari played last night. With some polishing and some consistent play on his part the LA trade just gets better and better. 

Yup like saying Stanley is a good defenseman if he was in the AHL.  

I also don’t have a ton of faith, but I’m also of the mindset (and so far, it’s playing out that way) that we may have quite a few open spots this year so O’Shea might not have a choice

Honestly, given the scouting additions we just made, I want them to have every opportunity to go out and find the next Orimolade instead of bringing one in on a big price tag.

Probably like football in Calgary. The fees are a higher but they cover the cost of the equipment. Hockey need not be for the rich & elite but things won't change, I beleve.

I coached football here in Calgary for many years at all levels. From atom (8-9) to pee wee (10-12) to bantam (13-14), high school to spring league (15-17 no grade 12's can play) & high school (15-18). At every level, the teams in the leagues provided the equipment at no charge. Teams fit their players & with the exception of the bantam league which owns all of their equipment & is stored in a warehouse somewhere in Calgary, the rest of the teams fund & replenish their own equipment storing it themselves in their own clubhouses.
One of the attractions for kids to play football is that for a fee of $500-900 everything is provided for the players. Fees have shot up since Covid. the cost of equipment, especially modern helmets have increased significantly. A portion of the fees charged does go back to the leagues themselves but teams use the remainder of the fees to help finance running a team. Parents must provide a post dated cheque for up to $1500 if they decide not to return the equipment before a certain date on the cheque. It's a lot of money but only gets cashed if equipment is not returned. Why can't hockey do this?

It's wild the costs associated now... No wonder soccer and basketball are skyrocketing in popularity.

I would keep the faith in Kyle Walters. They kept things together longer than I get the sense he would have preferred just because of the easily excused narrow losses in the grey cups and big win totals.
They started making some moves last offseason and some came about during the season because of the way things always go. I'd be inclined to think our GM knows what's up and will make some of the hard decisions.

With Bourgoin going to BC... it all but guarantees our new OC will be an external hire... which could be a good thing... I like Jarious Jackson or one of the guys from Toronto - Can't-stand-ya or Miller (I also just think it would be fun to have two coaches named Mike Miller)....

 Bourgoin is interesting. Guessing he wasn’t high on the list for oc candidates. He’s a good coach but even more of a lapo guy than buck. 
That means hogan and Costello are the only possible hold overs on offence. 
 Meanwhile most of the rest of the league has finalized their coaching staffs. 
 I hope we aren’t waiting to the point it becomes a detriment. 
 I would bring in Jackson as the oc and promote Costello to run game co.
