The way some folks talk no signings should be good news right

With Bourgoin going to BC... it all but guarantees our new OC will be an external hire... which could be a good thing... I like Jarious Jackson or one of the guys from Toronto - Can't-stand-ya or Miller (I also just think it would be fun to have two coaches named Mike Miller)....

 Bourgoin is interesting. Guessing he wasn’t high on the list for oc candidates. He’s a good coach but even more of a lapo guy than buck. 
That means hogan and Costello are the only possible hold overs on offence. 
 Meanwhile most of the rest of the league has finalized their coaching staffs. 
 I hope we aren’t waiting to the point it becomes a detriment. 
 I would bring in Jackson as the oc and promote Costello to run game co. 

Bourgoin, Charbonneau, McDiarmid and Young we're all Bombers coaches, at least at one point, right? Buck loading up a decent staff...

And yet they consistently came out on top and the stats back it up...just because most good defensesthese days are built around pressure and the front 7 doesn't mean that's the only way 

My take: they could have made some improvements at some positions, but there were many games where they were lights out. 
They didn't fare as well against the two best teams - it was clear all season that the Argos' had their number.  That's sports - sometimes an opponent matches up well against you.
IMO - you can't consistently depend on pressure in the current CFL.  Officiating is letting OLs getting away with a lot more holding than in the past, and that's not likely to change any time soon.  But I do think the Bombers have tilted a tad too far in the other direction.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of tweaks the Bombers make - but there's no need to throw out the baby with the bath water.
 

Good to hear that Demelo is alright and staying in. Sounds like Samberg isn't far off. Skating in non contact today and th talking heads figure he's maybe a week out...

Anyone watch the Canada-Finland game last night?  I guess there are more players on Team Canada than Cowan and that McKenna kid but I don't know who they are, other than the goalie's mom who was a curler and was shown at the game with a drink in her hand (lol).  I am hoping Yager is more visible next game, saw him out there but didn't see him doing much.  

It was a good game, but yeah Finland played very defensively.   Finnish goalie was very good... faced 40 shots.   Carter George for Canada was equally good and Finns had some good chances.    No surprise that the players of the game were both goaltenders.
I agree that Canada will get better as the tourney moves on.  Next two games are against Latvia and Germany.   You're gonna see some firepower tonight.   All sets up for the New Years Eve clash against the USA.
 

I'm not opposed to Thursday's either... "Don't Give A F*** Fridays" are a big part of my life... But ya, a Friday night at th ol' ballpark is a great start to the weekend. Head to the cottage at VB the next day.... Damn rights.

People acting like we haven’t been to 5 straight cups and that we are some bottom of the basement organization is a weird off season take. I’ll trust the ppl who actually do it for a living to get it right. Why go internal tho when you can get a guy who has moved team to team and won nothing. 

Remind me again, where did our current GM come from?

All I'm saying is none of us know enough about the internal guys to say whether it's a mistake or not. 
Key is trusting the people in charge to make the right decisions,  like they did with the DC position last offseason.

Man we need a signing announcement so we all have something new to argue about ... um I mean discuss.

Counterpoint: he was given a chance to develop and did get a chance to make the roster and contribute and nowngrts and NFL look. 
Player development can look at lot of different ways and just because you have an axe to grind and everything they do is **** doesn't mean you're way is the only way.
