Jets’ flu vs Seattle’s back-to-back fatigue: which takes hold first?
Just now, captaincanuck12 said:Seattle it looks really sharp for a team that played last night. They are all over the jets
To be fair Jets have carried the play and shot chances are almost 2:1, but Seattle’s transition odd-man rushes are killing us tonight.

El Nino gives us a short-lived lead.

Lowry ties it up with the late period goal.

Apparently the flu bug is ripping its way through the Jets dressing room. Govern your disappointment accordingly if the team looks sluggish.

@FrostyWinnipeg love the thread title, I am making my pitch right now for Friday’s re-match thread to be titled “From SEA to shining SEA”

It shows both and has a 0 in both.
What TSN says is he never fumbled and never lost one. It does not mention turnovers on downs. And I know for a fact those stats are not completely accurate. In his one game as a Bomber rushing he failed on a 3rd and goal QB sneak attempt against Hamilton, and after that Dru Brown became the short yardage QB until they brought Prukop back and cut Pigrome. Once in Ottawa he failed on two more 3rd and short attempts. His most infamous gaffe was in a 3 point loss to the Ti-Cats where he had 3 cracks from the Hamilton 1 yard line to punch it in and got zero yards each time (in fact he fumbled the 2nd down play but his teammate recovered it).

They should send him to the moose then since they still can. Doesn’t require waivers.
I doubt they move Perfetti but comparing the first ever pick of 2.0 who got better as time went on to a guy who is regressing and not the best skater out there is interesting
Just a reminder that Perfetti just turned 22 at the start of the year. This is his second full season and third overall. He had 8 goals, 22 assists last year for 30 points in 51 games, is 14-16-30 this year with a quarter season to go (on pace for 19-22-41). Scheifele by comparison at 22 was in his 4th season (2nd full) and had 15 goals, 33 assists, 49 points in a full 82 game season, and in his third year was 13 goals. 21 assists, 34 points in 63 games. So fairly comparable numbers, Scheifele a bit ahead. Way too early to call for a trade IMO.

He was charged with breaking into a woman's home, sitting on the couch next to her while she slept with her 2 year old son, before being chased out by the woman's room mate when she awoke to find him there. God knows what his intentions were. This was while he was a player with the Broncos.
Didn’t think there was any sexual component to it. He was drunk after a team party and walked into the wrong house. Got beaten up by the husband with a vacuum cleaner hose for sitting on their couch and rambling incoherently. Plead guilty to misdemeanour trespass. But hasn’t been convicted for being a sexual predator, AFAIK.

People do not need to stop throwing around the term sexual predator, he has been charged and convicted in the past for it.
I missed that. When was that?

If this **** came out about anyone on the Bombers I know I'd react the same way.
I don't recall many people protesting Lawler being suspended for his DUI and in fact I think the only thing that saved him in the eyes of most here was his accepting responsibility and trying to make amends.
But no one here was saying he should be kicked out of the league permanently either, which is how some have reacted to Kelly’s allegations. And many called it a “mistake”, not a crime, which it was. Or that more than a one game suspension was warranted and were content to have him come back and play while the charges still hung in the air.

I wonder how we’d be reacting to this news if it were about Dalton Schoen
For one possible answer, see the general (but not universal) difference in reaction to Andrew Harris’ failed drug test and the justification that it was a tainted sample/useless old school steroid no one would take/so minimal in reading it was effectively useless and the corresponding response to Leonard’s test refusal (and therefore unknown what if anything he was on) in Saskatchewan and all the PED Leonard comments.

Why can't we beat Dallas?
They match up well against our style, and we have never beaten Jake Oettinger in regulation. Funny thing is Dallas can’t beat Colorado, who we have not lost to yet. Whoever gets first place in the division has a big advantage not having to play the other two in the first round (unless of course Edmonton slips back to the wildcard spot and becomes a super dangerous 7 seed). Best case scenario is Jets win the division and face Nashville or even better St. Louis, next best is face LA, third best is finish second in the Central but draw Colorado in Round 1 and hope Dallas gets upset by the wild card team.

Every once in a while, I like to gauge the intelligence level of the posters with an esoteric title to see how they respond. Thankfully, I won’t have to resort to knock knock jokes for the rest of the thread. Lol.

Dallas and Philadelphia have been the two clubs that have beaten the Jets at their own game this year with aggressive forecheck, low danger chance defence, great goaltending, and just enough opportunistic offence. Those teams are the ones I’d want to avoid in the playoffs. Curious to see tonight how each team’s game has evolved since their last meeting in November
