  1. Next time Toronto takes a penalty, the Jets should decline it. Zone entry is awful, passes off most of the night.
  2. So Morrissey checks a guy playing the puck and gets a penalty and has to fight for hitting cleanly, Perfetti gets cross-checked in the back into the dasher board, and nothing. Maybe he should have faked an injury. I don’t blame refs often for losses, but that is garbage. Tired of teams looking to avenge hard, clean hits with a scrap. Would love to see an instigator and a game misconduct for that stuff.
  3. Damn, was getting ready to break out this meme: Congrats Goalie! The last two months was wildly entertaining.
  4. Not sure why we assume: (a) BC will be the team there and not Calgary (b) BC/Cal will have anymore difficulty in the cold than we will (remember which team struggled with turnovers in last year’s West Final?) (c) that playing half your games in a retractable dome in summer makes you weaker for the winter Bad weather is often a great equalizer for inferior teams. Given that our offence may well have to carry us to win this time out, give me the best weather possible for Zach and Co. And yeah I will be there, so heat please. I’ve sat through my share of -20 (not it has ever kept me away).
  5. Elks do indeed have the longest home losing streak ever at 17, breaking the old Ottawa Renegades record of 14. In other sports, the NFL record is also 14 (Chicago Cardinals), Pittsburgh Penguins lost 14 straight at home, MLB record is 20 by the St. Louis Browns, and the NBA record is 37 by the Sacramento Kings.
  6. The last time the Elks won at home: Trump still has a year left in his Presidency The Bombers are still on a 29 year Grey Cup drought, and Zach Collaros has not yet dressed for a game with them No one knows what a “COVID” is The Elks don’t even exist, the Eskimos still do
  7. Butler, Carey, Stanback, maybe Harris? Bombers run D has better polish up, because there are some horses on those other teams we could face. This may be the year our offence needs to carry us rather than our defence. Except from the sidelines while the other team’s offfence is grinding out the clock and wearing down the D.
  8. Agreed. But the idea that he is a slam dunk so we should not worry about him and potentially overspend on a Lawler as our first priority is a bit presumptuous, that’s all. Never take negotiations for granted.
  9. That’s what we said about Harris. Money is always a factor, Demski isn’t coming back for free.
  10. His M.O. has always been to choke legal proceedings with delay and exhaust his opponent in legal costs until they settle for pennies on the dollar with a non-disclosure agreement. He didn’t realize that the Government has much deeper pockets and essentially unlimited resources at its disposal and can out wait him. And they seem in no mood to cut him a deal at this point.
  11. Personal power is all they want. And Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, Jim Jordan et al remain in power while Liz Cheney gets bounced for not toeing the line and putting country over party. And all the talk is about Republicans taking back the Senate and House in spite of the J6 committee findings and the knowledge that the committee will be scrapped and all Trump’s opponents will be targeted on a “revenge” tour once they re-claim power.
  12. You did misinterpret. Those are privileges, not rights. And in the Charter, Rights are subject to reasonable limitations for the greater public good. And if you had a clear medical issue that was not elective, your right to medical treatment would not have been denied.
  13. Ok, so not you personally but clearly you have in mind rights we (collectively) thought we had but didn’t. What rights are those?
  14. What freedoms and rights have you had taken away?
  15. Difference is Cosby admitted what he did in a deposition and got acquitted criminally due to abuse of process. Spacey was not found liable on a balance of probabilities in a civil case, so no actual finding that he did anything. And Cosby’s career was mighty quiet anyway before his scandal came out. Spacey was still winning awards for “House of Cards” and doing movies when he was axed from every project by the studios.
  16. Pretty quick deliberations there. Wonder if Spacey’a career can be salvaged. Everyone was pretty quick to turn their backs on him when the allegations came out.
  17. What gives you that feeling (not saying it’s incorrect, but do you have some inside info)?
  18. But they think they are reading the room. In the age of Twitter, instant outrage is everywhere. So people like saying “see, that guy gets my rage, he’s just like me” and they forget that it in no way translates into competency. People play the blame game to cover up their own inadequacies, when they should actually revere those who are smarter than them rather than feeling inferior and resentful. But that would take self-reflection, honesty and humility in accepting one’s own faults. And when an emergency comes up, do you care how much better someone else is compared to you, or do you want the problem solved? If my plane is making an emergency landing, I could care less how much I like the pilot because he reminds me of me, I just want to know he has the skills to land the plane, because I sure don’t.
