  1. Bring popcorn and a cold beverage. This is gonna be classic entertainment that we will be talking about for a long time.
  2. Anger would have to be the sane response to all this unnecessary crap for any rational fan. Not a whole lot different than it was in this forum when Sleepy Joe was at the helm of the Bombers- just a matter of degree.
  3. Its interesting reading the thread at Riderfans. Initially, the posts were almost totally a mixture of "poor us" and "they're out to get us", but as the thread progressed, the postings have become more and more angry at Jones. Interesting. Fragments of sanity returning there.
  4. The situation in Regina is nothing short of hillarious. Jones is totally inept as well as arrogant, and the willfully blind seals there just clap on command and blame everyone else. Sounds like American politics. Fairly recently the Calgary Flames' GM was fired for committing one gaffe after another due to either not knowing the rules or deciding to ignore them. The stubblejumpers should hope this happens to Jones. I feel for the sincere and comitted fans in Regina (both of them) who are witnessing the Glieberization of their beloved team.
  5. Or a banana hammock.
  6. I've told you a million times: quit exaggerating!
  7. Looks pretty good to me. If the draft shakes out this way, Walters ought to lay back in the afterglow and light up a cigar.
  8. Yup, but I would bet he is still getting paid a premium that could be better used to sign Steele.
  9. Hurl's value is....debatable and probably not worth the premium he is getting to have been the starting MLB. If it comes down to either Steele or Hurl, I know which way I'm voting.
  10. Okay, now release Hurl and sign Steele.
  11. The whole point of training camp for rookies or newbies is to not only sort the keepers out but also to teach them the playbook, so already knowing it shouldn't be that much of an advantage. I am neither for Richards nor against him, but he has to be under the gun to cook or get off the stove. I would think that if any of the NI newbies show any significant promise, Richards will be in trouble- at best trade bait to the Riders.
  12. And how many women have told you that?
  13. And this is different from Richards how?
  14. The only tweak I might consider is one which I seem to recall was in force way back- that an import player who was either a landed immigrant, or permanent resident could be considered a non-import after 5 years in the country and CFL.
  15. I would rather watch a Canadian player from Sarnia, ON or Vegreville, AB than an American from Detroit or Houston. Yup- I am a homer.
  16. I would bet that fewer homegrown players would translate to fewer Canadian viewers of CFL games- it would diminish the appeal for me.
  17. I will go so far as to say that Richards has to show really well to even survive training camp. The hair will carry him only so far.
  18. Realistically, with the very short time frame, and with the selection as limited as it was, it was probably as good as it could be under the circumstances. Besides, Trestman said he would come to Canada only if Popp was part of the package.
  19. Woods sounds a diamond in the rough. And worth a late round pick.
  20. Cummings never did quite live up to his advance billing. He mostly looked average.
  21. He has the raw talent and drive but he would be a project.
  22. So long as we have real good competition at training camp, whoever wins out be good. From the looks of things, we ought to have a darned good receiving corps.
  23. I have real mixed feelings about Hall's return. He is a veteran defensive coach who has been tot the Grey Cup, and ought to know his stuff, but some of his defensive adjustments (or lack thereof) caused me to scratch my head. But it is not much of a surprise and it confirms the suspicions of many that O'Shea is utterly loyal- even to a fault. Maybe a better pass rush which was noticeably absent for much of last season will make things better for Hall's defence. Now all we need is a good MLB to emerge from the pack. It might be Smith.
