Denial isn't just a river in Egypt. -
Sorry, forgot to use the sarcasm font again.

Comparison: 2017 Ti-Cats / 2018 Bombers
Tracker replied to trueBlue83's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yesterday O'Shea said that "the ball is going where it needs to go" and the quarterbacking is not a problem. Hmmm..... -
Dressler seems to be becoming more fragile each season, and if we are expecting him to save the Bomber season, we are grasping at straws.
-
Well...maybe third time's the charm.
-
That doesn't seem to translate into good on-field performances, unfortunately.
-
If the hypothesis holds, then he will be an equally bad distraction in Toronto in no time.
-
Streveler is a bit of an anomaly- IRC, LaPolice found him, did he not? And Walters hires and supervises the US scouts, but so far as I know, he does not go beat the bushes.
-
What Collaros is or is not not is moot. The Riders and 4 and 0 in their last four games and the Bombers are not. That is all that counts, right? Should the Bombers lose on Saturday, it will be all hands to panic stations and more than one career will be in jeopardy.
-
And he was as close to a "can't miss" as there has been for awhile- big, mean and mobile. What happened to him?
-
Not sure if he would be a good candidate- he's just been diagnosed with diabetes and he's carrying a lot of extra weight, so his ability to work 16 hour days is iffy.
-
Is he not still Argo property?
-
We have LaFrance but when the opposition knows that if you do not have a running game, you have nothing else, its pretty much game over. That's what Ottawa, Calgary and Saskatchewan did and then the Bomber defence wore out.
-
For this to be a credible prediction, there would have to be some major changes in the Bomber starting lineup and defensive game planning, and O'Shea's record suggests this is not likely.
-
They did just fine last game, but some teams are able to find good players mid-season.

Matt Nichols is the worst starting QB in the CFL
Tracker replied to blueandgoldguy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Agreed, and it will take a really desperate situation for O'Shea to consider replacing Nichols and even then, it will probably be for a couple of plays. Lets face it. O'Shea has bound his fate to both Hall and Nichols and they will all succeed or fall together. -
Cold comfort, this.
-
No one has to "show" how bad Nichols has been lately- he is doing a spectacular job of doing that all by himself. Moreover at least 90% of his detractors in this forum would applaud if he happens to get his poop together and plays like last couple of years. By any measure, Nichols currently does not deserve the starter's role. Does Streveler offer us reason to hope? Maybe, but Nichols does not.

It occurs me that whatever Nichols is going through psychologically might be related to the horrific injury he suffered in Edmonton which came close to not only ending his career but crippling him for life. If that injury was really traumatic for him, he might be reliving it in this recent incident. However, in the end, it doesn't matter. Either he can play at a high level or not. -

If we don't, we will be officially in freefall. If we get blown out, there will be bodies swinging from lamp posts. -
If its Labour Day and we're already hoping that the team is good enough to make a crossover, that says something really sad about the 2018 Bombers/
-
O'Shea doesn't have to say anything publicly to embarrass Nichols- if Nichols thinks he is doing just fine, he's delusional. All O'Shea need do is spell Nichols off when he is not doing well. That would send a message to the team that this is not good enough and no one's job is guaranteed. That might even take some pressure off Nichols.

I suggest you are missing the larger picture. Nichols has been off all season for reasons we do not know, and the team has just come off two embarrassing losses. -
I am not quite ready to give up on Nichols just yet, but I am close to that point. O'Shea keeps trotting him out again and again when it is obvious that he is not doing well instead of putting in the #2 QB to at least break the rhythm of 2 and outs. Just like Willy. Pretty much every QB has off games and sometimes getting him to the sidelines to get a different perspective is the answer. If nothing changes, nothing changes.
