  1. No matter how talented you are as an athlete, the clock keeps ticking and the day inevitably comes when you can't get away with the crap you pulled when you were younger. The smarter players like Uncle Milt are able to not only extend their careers but their stardom. ChuckBob cold have become a legend but his partying was more important than leaving a legacy. I don't know what Charles Roberts is doing these days, but I would bet his arrogance and carelessness likely followed him into retirement.
  2. And that is the crux of the matter- Roberts had incredible talent, but whether he could he relied on in The Big Game was questionable.
  3. Fat chance. I could be cynical but it seems to me that too often the refs help the weak sister teams.
  4. I believe that the proper term is "rich as Croesus/Midas". Or Bill Gates.
  5. Harris is better than Jennings, and the RBs have a much better balanced team overall. The Lions have lost so many games lately that it has to be messing with their heads.
  6. The real question is "who would you have on your team in the playoffs?".
  7. Plays a lot like Damon Allen in his prime. But does he have the smarts to run only when necessary?
  8. I don't mind TSN pumping Harris' possible 1000/1000 season at all. We need to celebrate the extraordinary talent in the league instead of drooling over the often bizarre NFL "superstars".
  9. But its all fantastic, wonderful and incredible.
  10. Anyone who comes to the game ought to be able to move to seats right behind the benches.
  11. Its gonna take a heckuva transition for Jones as a linebacker to move from arena football to the humongous (by comparison) CFL field.
  12. Huh. He didn't even get the chair warm.
  13. hu·mor [ˈ(h)yo͞omər] NOUN the quality of being amusing or comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech:
  14. Maybe. I refuse to answer on the grounds that it might tend to incinerate me.
  15. Smart move by the Argos. Bass still has a lot of tread left on his tires.
  16. Hmmmm...shaping up to be an interesting game to watch.
  17. Soo......his play is turning you on?
  18. No individual stat is, and that is why I qualified my statement, but its a good rough indicator.
  19. Considering the dearth of talent Trestman inherited along with a brittle quarterback, he has done very well indeed.
  20. Harris has dedication, power and smarts. Roberts had incredible talent and the center of gravity of a personhole cover which made it very difficult to tackle him. Had Roberts done some even average self-care, he would have been in the George Reed legend category.
  21. Yet, its amazing that we have the third best O-line as judged by the number of sacks given up. I can't recall who the better ones are for sure, but I think it was Calgary and (WTF?) Edmonton.
  22. Just as opposition parties do not win elections so much as governments lose them, sometimes teams win it all because the opposition implodes at critical times. The only credible opposition to the Bombers so far this year is Calgary with the Riders showing occasional signs of life. I'm betting the real Grey Cup game will be the Western Final.
