  1. Many were chortling at the plight of the TiCats before the game, and frankly, I didn't see them any better or worse than Toronto or BC. Last night should have been a "gimme" but wasn't. If we can't put the boots to the TiCats, why should we be confident about any of our next four games?
  2. Lets not panic excessively. It was only one game, but the liabilities that have been evident for some time (mostly on defence) finally cost the Bombers. It would be refreshing to hear a frank evaluation by O'Shea of the putrid effort on both sides of the ball and what he sees that needs to change if the Bombers want to challenge the Stamps.
  3. I wouldn't give up on Davis because of his performance last night. Darned few Bombers looked good enough to play in this league. Hall, on the other hand....
  4. O'Shea has said he expects Hurl to be a speed bump, but I'm pretty sure he is not succeeding at that, either.
  5. Agreed. If its not talent (apart from Hurl) what the heck is it?
  6. That was pretty close to a mercy for them.
  7. Wolitarsky caught a good pass but fluffed two others. Lankford was screwed but I don't think he would have gotten any further anyways.
  8. The time bomb in the Bomber team finally detonated. The D-line which was supposed to be a major improvement over last year and provide the pressure on opposing QB's to force them into either hurry their throws or get sacked has been mediocre at best and was really exposed as such last night. The Bomber O-line was not good at all and Hurl played like he usually does, only Hamilton went right at the MLB position. I didn't realize it until it was mentioned in the telecast, but Loffler is the Bomber leading tackler. This would mean that a) we are not getting to the opposing QB and our linebacking collectively sucks. Santos-Knox and Leggett are good, and that points out how utterly terrible Hurl and Knox are. If a rookie CFL head coach like June Jones can diddle the Bombers like this, imagine what Calgary with good coaching and talent will do to the Bombers.
  9. Could it be that Davis looked bad (at least partially) because the team had collectively thrown in the towel at that point?
  10. This is like telling your date that for a fat girl, she doesn't sweat much.
  11. There were a few blitzes by the Bombers, but they were ineffective. Hurl would charge at the opposing lineman, take two steps and halt to watch the play move away from him.
  12. The reasons the Bombers lost this game so badly are simple, and none of them relate to Nichols being injured. Their O-line mauled the Bomber vaunted D-line who got little pressure on Masoli. Their D-line and blitzes confused and dominated what was supposed to be one of if not the best O-line in the league. Their receivers were open way too much, and the Cats were able to run up the middle at will and get 8-15 yards every damned time. Simple and fatal. If Hall isn't responsible, who is? Who is still saying that we can give up 350+ yards every game and still win?
  13. Gotta shake things up. Bring in Wolitarsky.
  14. Definitely something wrong with Babble- my posts do not register.
  15. No matter how talented you are as an athlete, the clock keeps ticking and the day inevitably comes when you can't get away with the crap you pulled when you were younger. The smarter players like Uncle Milt are able to not only extend their careers but their stardom. ChuckBob cold have become a legend but his partying was more important than leaving a legacy. I don't know what Charles Roberts is doing these days, but I would bet his arrogance and carelessness likely followed him into retirement.
  16. And that is the crux of the matter- Roberts had incredible talent, but whether he could he relied on in The Big Game was questionable.
  17. Fat chance. I could be cynical but it seems to me that too often the refs help the weak sister teams.
  18. I believe that the proper term is "rich as Croesus/Midas". Or Bill Gates.
  19. Harris is better than Jennings, and the RBs have a much better balanced team overall. The Lions have lost so many games lately that it has to be messing with their heads.
  20. The real question is "who would you have on your team in the playoffs?".
  21. Plays a lot like Damon Allen in his prime. But does he have the smarts to run only when necessary?
  22. I don't mind TSN pumping Harris' possible 1000/1000 season at all. We need to celebrate the extraordinary talent in the league instead of drooling over the often bizarre NFL "superstars".
