sack did really mess him up though. It took a long time to over come that first stretch.

I’d be surprised if they did too. Only way I see it is if it’s a fb with another position. A rb, a te type who can play wr etc.  and I don’t think we will even do that.

To me, it would make a lot of sense to bring back Konnor burtenshaw, and Daniel petermann. Pete is 28 and a fa. Then spend late picks on another wr and maybe fb to bring into camp. Cole Adamson was being moved to ol, but he’s undersized and pretty athletic. If he could execute fb stuff that’d be an easy way to get a spare ol on the roster with out losing out.  Any athletic undersized lineman would be a decent candidate to fill that roster spot.

I take back any negative comments I may have ever made about Taman and his Subway napkins because finding neg list prospects from the yokels on RF is a new low.  Well done O'Day, I sincerely hope you get a lifetime contract as GM of the Riders!

Chris Garrett was my favourite "post-Charlie" back prior to Harris and now Brady.

I think there's a second tier of all-time running backs for people like Washington, Mimbs and especially Fred Reid.  Will always be a Fast Freddy fan, he and Terrance Edwards were two guys worth watching on the terrible Bombers of 2009-2010 and his big game against the Lions is one of my top ten favorite bomber games.
I think if Chris Garrett hadn't have torn his Achilles, he would've been a great CFL running back. That dude looked complete to me -- power, speed, and moves.

Man I don’t like the auto scrimmage from the 40 after a td. Maybe if it’s a none offensive td and make it automatic after a fg.
I’d rather move the teams closer and make it slower speed for td kick offs. And or the no one can move until the ball is caught.

I'll tell ya... I was at a concert in Commonwealth last summer that was a sellout... so 60k+ in the seats, plus the field was full with "floor" seating. It was bonkers in there... it's quite the atmosphere when they DO fill it....

Well then that won't happen. Danielle Smith only spends money on things like that to buy votes, like in calgary. Edmonton didn't vote for her so they get cut off.

Who would even get the money when a non profit is sold privately?
The article talks about how the club is in rough times financially, some due to the pandemic, some due to the record.  Club success is cyclical and that should not be reason to sell the club.
The other they give is they need a new stadium.  If we've learned anything over the last 20 years, private owners aren't typically willing to put down a lot of their own capital to build stadiums / arenas.  Like it or not, this inevitably comes from the tax payer.
So why sell the club to a private owner to reap that potential benefit?
    Don't like this one bit.

The CBC really cut their sports department. They had some top notch talent that were let go. I'm sure from a lack of funding from the Mulroney & Harper governments. I think even Chretien cut funding as well.
Dunigan was a warrior in 1991 vs the Stamps when he played with a separated shoulder that was frozen.

Dunigan and Collaros had/have the same problem - they never play their best in Grey Cup games....

Walters said they knew that was the case before the season even started.  Brown was clear with them after 2022 that he felt he had grown as much as he could here and needed to be on the field more. He knew he was not going to get that chance here so he was leaving.  It was not a matter of money or the club not wanting him, they just couldn't give him the one thing he wanted the most - playing time.
The only way things may have played out differently is if Zach had gotten hurt last season.  A serious injury could have forced the team to move on from Zach before they were ready but it didn't play out like that so here we are.  Getting Strevy back just means things worked out for the best for everyone.  Dru gets his playing time & we get to roll with Zach/Strevy while we develop a rookie as our 3rd string QB.

It’s all based on the always-overlooked key (imo main key) to Defensive Football.
    Pressure up the middle.
It can make an all star QB look like trash out of nowhere on any given play.

Our interior o-line wasn’t very good in pass pro all last season and part of 2022.

Dude, this is literally happening in reverse this year.
Qwan'tez Stiggers played a year for some random indoor league and then for the Argos and is now entering the NFL draft. Why is the CFL a joke?

The most important person is the person who has the contain responsibilities. Force the returner into coverage. When the Bombers were at their best on SP, they had guys who were disciplined and did not chase tackles but stuck to their jobs.

There was a reason for that. When football started to transition to the "soccer style" kickers in the late 60's, they had no coaches anywhere who knew how to coach these new type of kickers. It took until the first wave of new kickers retired in the mid to late 70's & started coaching themselves that the kicking game slowly began to improve.
A lot of these kickers still had to play other positions. Ted Gerela was the CFL's first soccer style kicker but was also a linebacker for the Lions when he broke into the league in 1967/68. Guys used to practice alone with no coaching. They ended up practicing their mistakes & really not improving as kickers as no one was there to help them. Considering everything they went thru, these pioneers actually did okay.
Walt McKee was the Bombers first soccer style kicker in 1972 & he was a career 52% kicker. That was actually considered pretty good back then. The change was on as the kickers revolutionized the position. There are no more straight on kickers anymore. Today, kids as young as 10 years of age can sign up for kicking camps everywhere, It's no wonder that great kickers now have stats percentages in the mid to high 80's.

It is funny though because the extra Canadian is used for some flexibility and you could easily use the nationalized rule to give you more flexibility in case of injury.  It's actually incredibly stupid to not use it even if you don't plan on functionally using it for substitutions....you can have it in your back pocket in case you get some injuries.

This is a rough, rough take. I guess she should have just quit her job 2 years ago because boys will be boys and she wouldnt be in this predicament.
I've seen this constantly in management. Kick the can down the road because you are sure the woman is going to tough it out because she doesn't want to be seen as weak or just hope she eventually quits on her own and the problem goes away. There is no doubt in my mind had they extended her contract and changed her role subtlety to minimize her contact with Kelly she would have stuck through with it for 2024 as well, and if this same thing happened in that off season it would be "well why was it so bad now and not in 2022, or 2023, or 2024". This is a tale as old as time and has been happening in pretty much every male dominated industry and then people cry out "why isn't there more diversity in our workplace, why is there so few female applicants or why do they never last" and it's like no **** why.
I've fired Software Developers before because they couldn't keep their comments about female co-workers to themselves and the workplace was better off for it.
