Another good read is the thread about Burris being nearly signed to Winnipeg, and the thread I started a while back in 2013 about who the Bombers should go after. I listed Tate, Burris, Collaros, and Ray. Didn't even mention Willy until later when I said "could have included Willy". Lots of interesting comments about how people would prefer Willy over Burris. He certainly came with a lot of hype ... maybe generated by the unwashed masses in SSk.

You need to watch more Jets if you think that Pavlec is even somewhat okay.

tonight is a great test against a very tough opponent. Should answer some questions. Hell, if we win that's a couple wins against very good teams, and , .500 4 games in. Not too shabby.
Lose and we're 1-3 and a lot of people will say that our win against the hammer was due to Collaros being out and an absurd number of Hammy turn overs. Very pivotal game. Looking forward to seeing the teams response out there.

No, that's wrong. O'Shea is feeling the heat from the previous seasons. Pretending they don't exist and all that matters this year is utter denial. 

you're right, whether warranted or not, this game will shine a light on where the team is... this is considered a winnable game... though against a good opponent... if we can't win "winnable games" now, when will we ever??

Awesome win. The defense really showed up and basically dragged a win out of the Hammer. We can't expect to get 6 turnovers every game from the other team, though, this game should have been a much bigger spread. Willy was, ok, but really needed to ice the game away much earlier.

You clearly don't understand the power structure of the team.  Mack was given full control to run the team.   His title was G.M but there was no one above him who was interested in day-to-day football affairs.  So he was the guy entrusted with turning the program around.
When Mack was fired Wade Miller was hired, as President I think, and he was given full authority to run the team.  He hired Walters, and he and Walters hired O'Shea.  How can you ask what do Mack and Miller have to do with one another.  They were both "the guy" given total authority on football decisions.  Their titles were different; their mandate was the same.  Fix the team.
As for "you're not going to find proven winners", that's a defeatist copout and it's also untrue.   Saskatchewan went out this past off-season and paid big money for a proven winner like Chris Jones and they gave him the keys to re-build their team.  He has replaced 35 of the 44 players from last year's team and I'll bet you Saskatchewan, 3-15 last year, wins more games than the Bombers do this season.  Guys with proven winning track records are out there.  You just have to have the guts to go and get them, and if that means paying more, big deal.  You'll have more fans in the seats with a winning team and the investment will pay off in no time flat.  I gather from your comments that you think it was fine to hire Mack, a guy who had never been a GM and had no affiliation with the CFL for some 25 years.  And then to hire Miller, a guy who had never accomplished anything in a football management position.  The major blame for this team lies with its Board.  They keep on hiring guys with no track record of building a winning CFL team. 

You can dig a hole in the ground where you can go stick your head in being in denial. We don't need to be lectured everytime someone posts something you don't like.

I sometimes wonder if there's just a giant troll job happening on me right now. After watching Willy since he came here, and his abysmal first 2 games where he only got anything accomplished in the 4th when the other team had geared down... to read some people's account of his play and his abilities is jaw dropping. I mean, I honestly am wondering if its just a case of blue goggles. Willy, unlike Pavelec, is a likable guy and we all want him to succeed. He's a polite, well spoken man who I think would be an incredible ambassador for out team and city. But I can put that aside and look at his play and see major issues. He simply doesn't have the ability to read a defense that you have to have at this level if you aren't a mobile QB. Willy isn't mobile, and, he can't get the ball out fast. That's a recipe for disaster.
It's incredibly convenient and easy to just throw ones hands up in the air and clack away on the keyboard about how bad our O line is, but that's a red herring. Put Willy behind the best offensive line in football and they'll still apply the same tactic: blitz Willy and take away his primary receiver. Done. He's shown a baffling inability to check down his receivers properly for someone who's nearly 30 and been in the league for years.
I feel like people who voted him 14th or lower are being dicks, but if you have Willy anywhere outside the 6 to 9 range you're equally trolling or kidding yourself.
