2022 CFL Free Agency(Rumors/official signings)
I believe that coming out of camp both men will see a lot of reps and then we will roll with the hot hand.

I personally feel that 5'8" is too short to play wide out in the CFL, however, others have done it. I think he is far more suited for the slot as he is explosive out of breaks and is a great route runner. He is not a take the top off the defence type player. His YAC was not great in college but he is a twitchy type runner. I think a far more apt comparable for him is Kyran Moore over Duke Williams. He literally has nothing in common with Duke other than an average 40 time. Personally, I think he could develop this year into someone who knocks on the door for a receiving spot but I don't realistically think he would make a particularly effective wideout. I could be wrong though. He did play KR/PR in college and had decent numbers but I'm not sure he is a Grant replacement at the pro level.

I think it is OK to be a little disappointed with the airing of dirty laundry.

2022 CFL Free Agency(Rumors/official signings)
Harris is showing a complete lack of class. OShea lost trust in him..that speaks volumes. Farhan was on Pederson today and said Harris was not in physical condition coming to camp last year and that even Harris would admit that led to at least his first injury last year and probably second as well. Bomber brass and possibly members of the locker room were pretty upset with his lack of physical conditioning. Said Harris was dealing with personal problems and wasnt fully committed.

The surest way to get fleeced in FA by the agents is to admit you have cash to spend. Walters has a few dollars kicking around still.

I think he is or at least was on our suspended list. However I think he ended the season on the PR which would make him a FA.

He played football growing up in the Ottawa area.

As always it comes down to cost though. If there was no SMS definitely you bring Harris back but realistically of all our big ticket signings is there a single one more risky and more likely to backfire than Harris? Who would you have the Bombers not re-signing to free up Harris money and don't say no one because we know full well given the amount of all stars we had to re-sign that was not an option. You're angry, I get it, no one wants to lose a Harris but seriously Jeffcoat, Jefferson, Biggie, Oliveira or Augustine and a medium priced vet, who....who you picking? Explain how it would be better and why you think Oliveira and Augustine can't get the job done when they have demonstrated their ability to do so.

Never heard of it but sounds interesting. Glad to see these guys giving back and anytime you get some coaching from ex-pros it's going to be a positive experience for the players I would think.

Same as last year. I would be shocked if Thiadric isn't back with us. Global salaries are all the same so why would he leave.

I cheer for the logo not the player. If you aren't wearing our logo then you are the enemy. Legacy can wait till after careers are over and they are not playing for the opposition and come back and sign their one day contracts to retire in our uniform. Until then Adams, Harris, Lawler et al are opponents now and we need to smash them in the mouth.

Most UDFAs don't go to the combine. Just shows that if he were drafted it would an off the board pick. However, doesn't mean much as far as him getting an NFL look. I tend to agree. He didn't have a particularly impactful season as an over ager at Rutgers. Any NFL interest would be based purely on his size and would likely be a brief look imo.

It could I suppose if your QB isn't 6 gamed but misses stretches of a couple games here and there you could have SMS problems. However, you adjust as needed when things like that happen.

For sure. For all the griping this offseason could have went much, much worse for us for the same amount of dollars spent. I don't see a single high profile guy we signed this offseason that I would trade for Harris, Adams or Stove. The other guys who walked away were completely beyond our control when idiotic money or the NFL come calling you just can't compete with that. Dobson and Rene may both get UDFA interest or might not. Nobody really can say right now. However, both guys could possibly end up here so that is why there is all the chatter. Both would be big gets.

McKnight has earned the right to compete for a spot in camp. Nothing more is owed to him than that.

My guess is that Frankie William 2022 is wanting Frankie Williams 2018 salary. He'll probably have to take a couple days to let the reality set in that his market has changed.

Tons of DBs currently on the market. We should be able to get one at a pretty team friendly contract as depth. Maybe an under the radar guy like Trumaine Washington. Similar kind of trajectory that Winston Rose was on when we first signed him.

It is absolutely grey for sure. Neither side was particularly interested in making a deal happen so there was none. Could the Bombers have paid him...sure they could have....and might even have got their money's worth, could Harris have taken a shave and stayed at home and cemented his place on the ring of honor with a farewell tour....sure he could have. However, it didn't seem that either side was particularly interested in meeting in the middle and so the fault goes both ways.

We know Collaros and Harris spent some together in Toronto. Maybe they just aren't the right fit together? Not saying they aren't, but I'm not sure how they got along. Crazy times in the CFL this year. Must be a receiver shortage being forecasted. lol

I think Wally's decision making on these matters is a little overstated, I mean without Wally thinking Andrew was washed up we don't get the remarkable 5 seasons we had of him. However, yes, Wally ran it like a business and had a lot of success. I think Walters is more like Hufnagel who lets guys go to FA who want to chase the dollars and then comes up with a bumper crop of rookies to replace them. We have entered that kind of stability now ourselves.

Ok maybe that's more indicative of how I feel too. Loss of respect was too harsh. However, Andrew Harris did take a nice fat signing bonus home in the covid lockout so he didn't lose his full salary.

I thought Harris would take the shave too, knew it was definitely going to happen, but didn't think he would leave the Bombers for a few extra dollars after, by his own admission, playing a heavy role in convincing guys to stay here for less. But it is what it is and I love Harris but honestly lost a little respect for him yesterday. However, that's easy for me to say because I'm not in his shoes. I honestly think he will look back on this decision after he hangs up his cleats and regret his decision to not finish it out with us. Adams did nothing wrong, and was the consummate professional here. I hope he rejuvenates in Ottawa and has a bounce back season. Guy sacrificed his last few years here, leaving money on the table to stay, but we needed to go in a different direction after losing Lawler because I think we need more out of his spot than he can provide at his age. I expect that Adams place in the lineup will be one that if a rookie doesn't step up early that Walters spends some money on.

I disagree that chasing a few dollars more in Toronto was the right move by Harris but it's not my choice to make. However, yea....we have Brady and Johnny and will be just fine at RB.
