  1. Brohm's problems are.. He doesn't look off his first read. Makes it easy for the defense to read.. He isn't mobile enough (ok he had a 24 yard rushing TD that was hilarious), his release isn't quick enough, and his arm strength is just barely ahead of Alex Brinks. (that isn't a compliment) Mind you he wasn't the only problem tonight but the thing that bothered me is that he wasn't so over whelming terrible enough for Marve to get enough playing time. He was just bad.

  2. I'm re-watching the game now. I'm quite impressed with Bellefeuilles play calling.

Play calling was solid. One play I saw a million miles away was when we emptied the back field on second and long and it was the quarterback draw with Willy. Riders werent fooled. No one was! but besides that I thought the play calling was good. Great mix of run and pass.

  3. It truly is bush league. Seeing less then 5000 people in the stands for an Argo's "home" game in Fort Mac, and seeing steadily declining coverage from TSN. It's tough to grow the sport with in Canada and especially in the USA with such amateur like coverage. It's too bad because the CFL is a great brand of football that is truly exciting.

I'm not too worried about a 5th string Canadian QB damaging our reputation but it's pretty obvious that he didn't get a fair chance

Your missing the point. It's not just about Yantz. It calls into question the credibility of our GM, if he's making promises to players and not keeping them. Other players pay attention to this stuff.
Good lord.. How many reps do you think every other 5th string quarterback get? He got an opportunity to show his stuff. He was more then a long shot to make it. He stuck around longer then most people thought. If this was Yantz from Kentucky this would be a non issue. Players that get cut always think they didn't get a fair chance, what else is new.
Again, that's not the point. In reading the article on Yantz, it sounds like Walters told him one thing, and something very different happened.

What do you think GM's tell players when they're signed? I'm sure EVERY player invited to TC was told they'd have an opportunity to make the roster. So he didn't get enough reps. Big deal.

Who should be there than TBurg than? Who should not?

Not my call.  Haven't been to camp to see them.  Don't have access to the meetings, film, etc.  Coaches make those decisions.

Coaches make the decisions and you criticize those decisions even though you don't have access to practices, meetings, film, etc.

The old 'the coaches know more than anyone else' argument.  Bomber coaches have crafted 1 winning season since 2008, or 1 in the last 7 seasons, so I don't feel bad about not blindly accepting their decisions.  If they can eek out some better records, then I'd put more trust in their decisions.

You would have a point.. Except our coaching staff has had one year together not seven. We went from the laughing stock in the league in 2013, to a team fighting for a play off spot. You can look at the glass half empty but i'll give some trust to this coaching staff, We did go from 3-15 to 7-11 in one season. Not quite a winning season but compared to the mess they've had to clean up it's a nice start.

  7. Keep in mind. It's the start of training camp and most of these players haven't played any actual football in months. Minor muscle pulls, and little injuries are quite common at the start of camp. Let's stop speculating that these injuries are "serious" when it's more realistic that most of them are day to day injuries.

  8. I wasn't the biggest Grigsby fan but he's slowly winning me over. He's ran a lot tougher in the last couple of games. His pass blocking has improved tremendously, he's a threat as a pass catcher out of the back field, and him leading the league in yardage and touchdowns is a testament of Grigsby being a big part of our offense. I loved what I saw from Cotton in the pre season and maybe he didn't get enough touches when he saw the field but when he did get his touches he didn't do enough with the ball and in this game it's definitely what did you do for me lately. Got to capitalize on your chances in the CFL.

  9. He can't block, he can't catch! He doesn't hit the hole hard. Definitely disappointing. If you're our starting tail back and you're struggling to get positive yards you better be protecting the quarterback on throwing downs. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Time to sit on the bench.

  10. Oddly enough 2010 was an exciting year. After the Mike Kelly drama. We lost something like 9 guys by 4 or less points but we had a young team with tons of talent that had a lot of heart and pride and never gave up. Even though we came up short you could tell we were on the cusp of something great. We went 7-2 to start of the year in 2011 but unfortunately it went all down hill from there. It's nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel here in 2014.
