We MUST be able to find a better starter/backup than Hall... the guy had been a coach for two years when we dug him up last spring... At this point, I would be just as happy going into the season with three new, raw QBs instead of sending picks to anybody. Start fresh - Hall will always have Mackstink on him.

Really not excited about starting three NI receivers if that's what he means... If Forzani is healthy, he is really the only guy of interest. Anthony Parker is another Poblah. Sure hope that Walter is not set with Cauchy and Bucknor at Safety... Defence is our best chance to win games this year...

Sorenson is slow, he is one of the worst centres in the league. Yet he is better than kowalczuk. I never said baboulas should be starting but given that he has exp and there is no one else out there... Maybe we should have looked. Myddleton is really the only option for us - or maybe greaves? Morley got benched last year and now someone is suggesting we move him to the middle... You guys crack me up. I am totally open to suggestions how to improve the OL... Feel free to suggest something instead of criticizing my post.

Plus Dublanko as an ST addition. I'd certainly take Baboulas over Kowalczuk. Things are looking a bit grim with the ratio. REC: Watson, Foster OL: Greaves, Sorenson(?) or Kowalczuk, Morely, Neufeld S: Muamba or Bucknor DL: Thomas Depth: REC: Carter, Renaud, F-G, Brescacin ...Etienne? OL: Pencer, Swiston, Paliwoda? DL: Lucas DB: West, Sherman RB/FB: Fitz, Pontbriand, Volny LB: Dubuisson, Stephan This might actually be worse than what Kelly left us with. Starting the season with Muamba or Bucknor at Safety? We NEED to sign Butler/Newman and Myddleton more than Willy i think... We're stacked at 'average Cdn receiver' though...

The best way to get a player to return to your franchise after an NFL stint is to alienate them and make them feel as unwanted as possible on their way out. I thought you ragged on Barker last year for releasing guys to try the NFL... around the same time we kept Vega here right up until free agency started... Either way, it doesn't seem to matter much - Barker lost a couple guys, Vega came back even though Mack didn't help him out... Sure hope this works out - our ratio is already in the shitter.

Did Ottawa pay Burris 465k/yr for 3 years. If so that is what I would call mortgaging the future....financially. QBs have notorious egos so paying this old guy 1;3M is madness. You can win a GC with a less than average QB (Sean Salisbury) if you have great D and a decent offense... No. An average quarterback and defence can get you to the big game... only to get blown out by a great quarterback... see 2011.

Yup, I have no idea... but neither does anyone else on this forum. No where have I seen $465 plus incentives... Free Press said $465. Penton and Edwards both said Burris got $450 plus incentives. Link please... Penton's twitter says 'way over 400k' and Edwards said around $450k range...

What future would we have mortgaged? What young guy on this team is making top dollar? A trade will mortgage the future much more than matching an offer.

This is getting ridiculous. The RedBlacks are not paying Burris $465,000 unless he is the MOP after their Grey Cup win... This money is not 'tied up' - it is money that you have to start juggling if all of a sudden you are a real contender. IF Hank is lighting it up, Glenn will simply be traded. That's how this league works - the Bombers just don't get it. Probably came down to Ottawa offering a much bigger signing bonus than we did...

What exactly were you expecting Henry Burris to win for us? And yes...Walters should be sure to sign Steve Myddleton, the mystical free agent NI OL, just give him a blank cheque. It is going to be a couple years of rebuilding in terms of NI's and QB's. That's the price we pay for relying on Buck Pierce for 4 seasons, wasting picks on Etienne's and Pencer's. If this rebuild isn't done right and we chase mediocre players like Burris to the detriment of developing better players, it will take even longer. If Burris is here, it gives us a couple years to develop a franchise QB... now we are in a position where we have to 'waste' a pick for Glenn or throw whichever new talent bring in to the wolves... we've seen how that works out.

Even with a $400k+ contract, we have lots of cap space. Aside from Henoc, who on our roster is even close to maxing out their salary... maybe Cauchy because Mack overpaid him like Kito... Everyone else is likely near league minimum with a few guys around $100-125k
