I think the REDBLACKS!!!!111!! would be more interested in signing players at more conventional NI positions just because it's easier to build depth there. Can find a MLB who can play and a backup for him anywhere in the states, if you invest big in a NI at that position you better have a decent guy behind him as a NI. You mean like finding the backup that Joe Mack never did... and now left us completely screwed if Muamba leaves....? Redblacks have Pottinger as backup... plus they likely already have the roster fexibility not to be hooped if Muamba gets injured. Muamba is the best NI heading to free agency - every team will have a look...

I'm not really a first round OL guy... you can still find OL talent later in the draft, other positions really drop off after the top one or two talents have been picked If Thibault tests well, i would way rather pick him and insert him as starting safety asap... we missed Edem, don't screw this one up. Thibault, Robertson and Sherman would make for a nice camp. Neufeld is essentially our 2nd round pick this year - I think we overpaid but we'll see... Hopefully Sabourin or Chin is still around in the 3rd... kind of doubt it though

If you replace, Sorenson and Morley - January, Greaves and Jones are not a bad foundation at all... Parenteau 'should' replace Sorenson out of the gate but his injury history is a bit of a concern, hopefully Pencer can step up at RG - I thought he was decent last year... Neufeld and Swiston would be a bonus at RT, suppose we will keep Morley around as 6th due to his versatility... Either way, I'm not seeing big changes on the OL...

Montreal signed Stala to essentially replace Lavoie on the roster... Its just funny to read how we kind of dismiss Stala's signing - after only two days on the market - as 'well, they had no depth'... translation: we don't need him... Its been so many years since we've had real competitions at training camp and we're paying for it... Just want to see us bringing in guys

Montreal did not sign Stala because they had 'worse NI depth' than us... classic lame forum excuse... They signed him because he is still a good player - Montreal does not NEED NI receivers for their ratio (although we do...) - but Stala is a good pickup that gives them flexbility if they need it. No one is arguing that Stala is the best receiver out there but the guy would have been a good addition, even in terms of leadership, to any team... I would really like to see the bombers get a bit more aggressive than we have been so far - time will tell.

Collaros might get offered $125k as a 'base' salary - similar to Jyles... that's probably the upper limit Regardless, we need a QB coach, an OL coach in place and some indication that our OL talent will improve before we can compete for a free agent QB...

Sorry 'base' salary was a mistake... should have read 150-250k salary... as in, Mike Reilly signed for something like 70k base, 70k signing bonus and then incentives Burris is more likely $200k guaranteed and bonuses... $300k is fine if we win the grey cup and he's the CFL MOP...

Why on earth would we offer $300k to Collaros... to cripple the team? Reilly signed for $150-200k base salary... no reason that Collaros should get more Collaros did look good last year but that was with support of Milanovich, Brady and Maas - unless we create a support system like that (and improve the OL), any QB coming here will falter. I wouldn't be against Burris signing here to groom our own prospect for the next two years...

Comparing Stala to Stoddard is pretty funny. Even if the guy is a shadow of his former self, he will still contribute with blocking and leadership... maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised and he'll perform... We don't need blazing speed, we need a guy who can get open and catch... no NI other than Watson seems to be able to do that. Except Kohlert...

Why wouldn't we look at Stala... he'd be our second best NI receiver - even old and injured, he's better than Poblah and Foster...
