  1. Absolutely. Paddock was a good guy (went to my parent's Chuch). Imagine the pressure on him during that time. New owners wanted ONE marquee player and decided they should keep the American (Keith Tkachuk) over the Fin (Selanne). Paddock did okay in the trade considering he really had limited options and couldnt take back any real contracts. If Kilger had panned out, it would have been a lot better. When you talk worst owners in Sports history, I dont know where the Coyotes' owners rank but it must be up there.
  2. Just this tweeted out. Havent seen if he specifically mentioned the Jets though. There was a thought that he would have returned this season but his KHL deal did not have an NHL out clause and the Jets obviously didnt feel it was worth buying it out. I believe the Jets retain his rights when he returns. Ill be somewhat excited about this come next year. I havent seen much in the way of commentary on his play in the K and my concern would be whether he is developing in a positive way or not. He really lost out by how Atlanta developed him and he seemed to have an attitude issue about the way Noel was using him too. He can be a dynamic player and would be a very good 3rd line player with 2nd line potential, plus he plays Centre or Wing. On the flip side, he might be good trade bait too. Capitals anyone?
  3. Edmonds is way better on the Big Show than Richardson was but I didnt mind him as much as some people. Edmonds come across as a legit broadcast guy, very mature & professional and keep the show on point. When it was Jay, Matt and Troy, it was more akin to listening in a bunch of guys talking sports in their basement over a few beers. One thing I really like is that 1290 is developing people. Edmonds goes from Goldeyes announcer to regular Big Show host to Jets PBP guy in the span of, what 8 months? Good for him. Too bad for Munz but at least he has a regular gig still and it could be a good one. Could be worse for him. Whatshisname over on CJOB got hired to be the voice of the Jets and then they Jets went with 1290. Doh!
  4. I guess it depends on why he was fired. I can't remember the reason...
  5. Recently diagnosed with Parkinson's which my father is battling. Awful sad.
  6. Everyone loved the Gooch signing at the time so not hindsight burials. Plus some other team is going to sign him this year.
  7. Was just about to post this. Very interesting. Clearly a demotion for Munz and huge opportunity for Edmonds. What a year for him. I rarely listen to Jets on the radio but I know some fans were not big fans of Munz and Edmonds got a lot of love when he filled in. Moral of the story is never take a sick day.
  8. Come on man, that's just stupid talk. I mean hey, I don't think this team is Grey Cup ready or ready to win the west yet, but no wins out of the 10 games we got left? I mean, we got the Montreal circus show coming to town next week, and we play Ottawa again as well, those smell like pretty good wins to me. We got Hamilton again, and yeah I know they're not as bad as the 1-5 record they sit holding, but it's not like they're a juggernaut right now either. If we finish the season with only 8 wins, fine, means this team's youth and inexperience caught up to them, but that's a hell of a lot better than we've seen mostly around here lately. But this is not the 2013 Bombers, and I got more than enough reason to think O'Shea will pull more wins out before this season is over. An exaggeration perhaps. But I wouldnt be surprised if we finish below .500 on the season, watching the way the team is playing PLUS seeing how other teams have figured us out. They are running at will and blitzing at will. The officiating didnt help. But every team has to deal with the same officials. you don't think they can find 4 more wins on the schedule? Do i think they will win at least 4 more? Yes. Would I be shocked if they didnt? No.

  10. All they have to do is run and blitz and they win
  11. May not win another game this season. Book is out. Run on O. Blitz on D and you'll beat the Bombers every game. Going the wrong direction now.
  12. Remember the time the CFL tried to convince Vince McMahon to buy the Argos and he countered with an offer to buy the entire league? And when that didnt happen, he formed the XFL? Yeah. Vince might not have been a bad owner. But he would have probably been in the running for some craziness.
  13. There are more effective ways of tanking then signing Perrault and Galiardi.
  14. I have never once claimed that I'm speaking for anyone but myself. If anyone reads that into my opinion than that's on them not me. Obviously what I write is my opinion because I'm writing it. This is a message forum. This is all out opinions. Generally when people start attacking the poster rather than the post it's because they have nothing interesting to say about the topic. It's far easier to attack the person than make a logical relevant point about the topic. If I say something is silly or someone is naive I don't have to qualify that with "in my opinion" because the fact I am writing it on a message forum means it's my opinion. It happens all the time all over this board but people don't get upset because it's usually about far less pointed topics like sports. Anyone who gets upset, in sorry but that's on you not me. I'm never upset by anything on here. Never ever ever. It's a forum. I love the opinions. The stronger the better. I probably get no greater joy on a forum then acknowledging to someone that they made a great point or proved me wrong or changed my mind. I love that. That's the benefit to having a discussion forum with many voices. As for the accusation that I deliberately state anything for the sole purpose of riling people up that is absolutely not true. Maybe because nothing riles me up I assume a message board post isn't going to rile others up. If you're riled that's on you. Not me. That's your emotion. The example that people once thought the world was flat is a great example. I shouldn't have to qualify my opinion that the people who still think the world is flat are silly and naive. There are people in this world who would come here and argue that point. It doesn't make it any less silly. So in closing don't get riled up. That's never my intent.
  15. Hot pink is unique. I actually like that.
  16. Don't have to list examples when others have. I mean sure if you guys want to argue that the bible, a book written a very long time ago by men is somehow the absolute word of god then have at 'er. But that's an argument a lot of people would find either amusing or silly or both. Accepting science and logic and common sense is as important if not moreso than accepting God.
  17. Yeah Im not sure why anyone cares. They are a promotional thing and if it results in a few bucks in the teams/leagues pockets, so be it.
  18. Is every team going to have the same design with just different colours?
  19. Kinda makes me go cross eyed staring at the helmet. Looks like a traffic warning sign or something But the colours are okay.
  20. There was already one mentioned in this very thread by someone else. Ill concede immediately that I am not nearly knowledgable enough about the source material to win a debate about specifics with someone who is. But God didnt write the Bible. Man did.
  21. What frustrated me on the fumble was watching everyone give up on the play.
  22. A) where did I refer to someone as "damned ignorant"? And if I did (I legit dont recall that) what was the context? You proved my point. because someone would wave the Bible and say "adultery is wrong, punishable by stoning". And someone else could wave the Bible back and say "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone". That was exactly my point. That the Bible is ABSOLUTE in its contradictions and thus CANNOT be used to prove anything with any certainty. It's a guide. Written by flawed men influenced by the politics and culture of their time. Im religious, so you cant point at me and accuse me of being insensitive to someone else's position on this. But Im also a realist.
  23. So when is he coming back to the CFL?
