In regards to Walters not being a big player, I still think our interpretation of "high end guys" compared to his may be a little different.

There are a few moves to be made. I see a guy like Nevis or even AM Cash as a possibility. Maybe Iannuzzi. Maybe LaFrance.

I get the feeling that for Ianuzzi...it's Lions or retirement

I'm not ignoring their careers. In fact one of the reasons I don't want to compare them is because of the lack of careers on both sides. I don't understand how you don't see what I'm saying. You can't honestly compare these two in any meaningful way at all using stats. Only opinion. In my opinion, Davis would have a very very slight edge, as he's currently has a better understand of the BB play book. That's right now at this exact moment Feb 7th at 10:38am. That would change slightly during TC if both were there.

And you should know that mediocre stats don't mean jack when switching teams. There are plenty of examples both ways, where a QB looked decent in one system and like totally shit in another and vise versa. So again, Cato's very slight advantage in experience doesn't mean a whole lot when he's going to be playing in a new system.

You don't want an inexperienced back up. Ok that's fine. But Cato hasn't shown anything to immediately make him #2 here. He's legit had what 2 good games? He's played a hand full of starts. How is he experienced? He's not as green as Davis, but he certainly has a lot of green left on him.

Does your opinion change now? At 10:56 AM?

  3. Buono has a history of developing his guys and Hufnagel developed  Mitchell.  The list is short of organizations that have developed their own guy

    Edmonton- Reilly was with BC

Sask- Developed Durant but easily on his last legs with nobody behind him

    WPG- Edmonton developed Nichols

Toronto- Ray was with Edmonton, and Willy was with WPG and Sask

Montreal is trying to develop their guy but is experiencing some (predicted ) growing pains in doing so

    Hamilton- Collaros developed by Toronto

Ottawa- Harris developed by toronto and Burris developed by himself (just ask him)

Name a receiver better than Matthews? Or a DE better than Willis/Hunt. Or a HB better than Hefney. OR DT better than Turner. Etc etc. Mack had his bright spots. This isn't an attempt to rewrite history. Those teams were what they were. But he found plenty of American talent, and in their prime most were the best or damn near the best in the league.

Willis/Hunt and Hefney were all pre Mack.   We're only crediting Mack with Hefney cause his stint with the NFL didn't last long and came back in mid 2010
