Tim Burke didn't say it outright but he sure showed it. Whether it was the sad eyes or just shrugging his shoulders when asked if he had any answers as a head coach. The 2013 season couldn't come soon enough to put him out of his misery.

Basically. I think Nichols is playing to the pressure from the media right now.  A good QB that is really forcing it because things are not going well for the team.

You wouldn’t have to look hard to find other examples. To deny he has made some good throws to support your theories doesn’t back up the facts.
Look nobody's denying Nichols has to step up his game, but in the completions he has made, some of them are pretty good.
 

Again, not true. You’re just not giving credit where credit is due. Nichols has had good games. He’s had good throws in every game.to go along with the bad. That’s where the ‘consistency’ comes in.

Simply not true. He can zip it in there when he has to. He’s fired it into tight spots before. It’s the consistency we’re looking for.

I’m torn on Barker. Has had CFL success. But also the guy who traded an all star DB and the first overall pick (yes, I know Faith was a bust, but it’s a high value pick nonetheless), for Drew Willy. I’m in the Walters has done enough to retain his job camp. 

Pretty sure he will tell you he graded very well, and they had a great time on their date!

You'd think. But in the CFL that just isn't the case. Mostly because the 1st overall often isn't the most talented. Just the most talented who isn't going south...which often means there is a few years of development a head at best. Though sometimes you get a good one and they play right away. But that's not the norm.

Not sure why this qualifies as cherry picking? One might expect that the first overall pick is a LOCK to be a front line impact player. As for the other picks listed....well done but I’m sure they align with comparable picks across the league. 

Nice cherry picking there. Why don't you take his whole body of work in rebuilding our Canadian depth... cuz it doesn't fit your narrative? 
Walters  has done a fantastic job building our cnd depth.

The coaching staff is suspect, and I would exempt LaPolice from that.  I do not know how you can blame an OC for the lame play of his QB and the probable reluctance of the HC to allow a backup to spell off a struggling starting QB. Walters has done enough good stuff to warrant a reprieve, but if he continues to back O'Shea, his fate would also be sealed.

I'm not sold on Claybrooks. Yes, he has a great defense in Calgary but he's been blesses having great players to coach & who know the system. I also think he isn't experienced enough. is this his third year as a DC? The guy I like is Orlando Steinhauer. A successful DC (in the past) who knows the league as a player & a coach. Coached as a DC in the NCAA & did well in the only year he did in 2017. He was ready 3 years ago to be a CFL HC & I'd love to see him here. I think his upside is far higher than O'Shea. 

But who says he doesn’t see a drop off? But rather an expectation of better play coming from the guy who is making the right reads..

its on the Bomber app, press conference from Wednesday..... where he says Nichols is making the right throws and has been accurate and is grading very well.  That's where I have serious problems with his assessment of good QB play.  To say he doesn't see a drop off in his play from last year is just unfathomable.

You do understand that each season is separate, right.  Realistically you can, at best, only use the seasons that this regime has been here to compare with.  This team has nothing to do with the Kelly/Mack years, for example, so why would you hold this group responsible for the sins of the past.  That's just lazy thinking.

Not the best video evidence, but you can plainly see the ball is thrown too high. If thrown at pad level, I think he has it. 
By the way, there is a Rider on Washington, but he shows as a blur in this snapshot. Still, the ball is thrown to the right space..just too high. If not tipped, it lands in that open space.
But I do agree that a receiver’s natural instinct is to make a play on that ball.

 
As an aside, Stanley Bryant is the man responsible for knocking Elam out of bounds, some 50 yards downfield. That’s effort!

We should dress Flanders. Even if there’s no specific role for him It would be nice to spell Harris and have a legit backup on the roster who doesn’t fumble he game away when he has to come in for a series. Hopefully once Gray is here that’s more of a possibility.

Boy all the moaning and gnashing of teeth on here. I am as mad as anyone about yesterday. It's not that they lost, it's how they lost....but take away the gift 14 points to Riders, we have a win, and the tone for most on here is completely different. For many it is always about what have you done for me in the last minute or two.
