  1. This a great chance for Davis to show something to warrant more attention going forward. He won't be under the "normal" pressure associated with having to win, other than for winning's sake. Well, other than thousands of pairs of eyes from long-suffering-QB-envious-praying-for-the-next-guy Bomber fans that is. This will also, hopefully, help to answer how hard we pursue Nichols in the off season. Of course, we still should give Nichols an offer...for backup, but this could help determine a more defined offer. So to our own DD, just go out there...have fun...and impress the hell out of us will ya? That's not too much to ask, is it?
  2. "My my, hey hey, Rock and roll is here to stay"
  3. I'm pretty sure in the other Morening Blue Forum, Ritch has stated the correct quotes as being the first version. I'll check tomorrow with Mr. Mxyzptlk for confirmation.
  4. P Lirim Hajrullahu - he gambled, contract-wise and lost. Now an invite to TC will be the best he can get. SB Nick Moore - I like Nick, but we have to get way better. #3 Imp. rec. money wise QB Matt Nichols - I want him back if his ambition has been introduced to his abilities, and they have reconciled, then we can make him a solid offer for #2, LB Chris Randle - no doubt about it...get him back. DB Lin-J Shell - thanks for the roster fill-in, bye-bye. DB Demond Washington - his athleticism gets him another invite. OL Selvish Capers - don't know enough about him, I suspect he won't be getting an offer. OL Jace Daniels - I've liked what I've seen, bring him back. DE Thaddeus Gibson - it's hard to gauge a player when he's out of the lineup. RB Cameron Marshall - welcome back. FB Michel-Pierre Pontbriand - yes, yes yes. LB Graig Newman - a servicible NI, bring him back. DE Louie Richardson - a back up back up? I don't see him back.
  5. As I sat there and watched the Edm-Mont game and saw John Bowman get 2 QB sacks to tie Westerman for the league lead, I have to wonder what Higgins was thinking in benching a true player. I know it's only 1 example..but it's a big one. Higgins for our HC? The thought makes me nervous.
  6. Seriously. The next thing Orridge should do to improve the CFL image in a big way is to hire some knowledgable people to set up a PROFESSIONAL CFL website. I don't know who hired somebody's son to set up this basic website, but surely we can have better, up to date information, that we don't have to go looking elsewhere to get league information. It's amateur land. If he wants to come across as a Professional and a true CFL fan....start there.
  7. It's a band. I'm calling Hedley. This isn't a pre-game toss, but I'll take tails..
  8. I really can't see Buff getting any games for this. It'd be really hard to argue, with the evidence before them, that this was an illegal hit. If you limit Buff's hits to asking permission before the hit, you're partly negating his value. I agree, keep the arms down, and out with the head hits, but this was a body check, pure and simple. I mean the guy went after Buff right after the hit, so how badly was he affected?
  9. There is a member of the Adam's family that would throw their support behind Johnny. Now, on defence, if you add in Westerman, that's 4 positions upgraded. One third. That's decent. Find a DE, another lineman and the best MLB not currently employed and we'll have something. Offence is an entirely different matter.
  10. Biggest, maybe. Easiest? I don't think so.
  11. Not to take away anything from the RedBs, but Ottawa would be looking up at Montreal in the standings if they had lost Burris for the year..
  12. Jets were fighting an uphill battle as soon as that previous nifght's game was over. A nice solid game on Sat., a flight, an injury, two plugs on one line, a very good opponent playing undefeated at home and Montreal's fast skating good start is enough to down any team. Add in one of the most disorganized games played by the defence, and you get that disastrous start. Hutchison never stood a chance. Out the window, in the bin, with that game, with the realization that the 2 points won the night before were more important than the 2 points lost to an Eastern opponent.
  13. I don't know if it would be allowed. His slogan is "Make it Right"....
  14. I would hazard a guess you can just type in his name@twoandout and he'll get the message.I'm pretty sure it'll get through unblocked...
  15. As I understand it, Copp was slightly injured and out of the lineup. I tend to believe this forced Maurice's hand, especially after playing just last night. Thorburn and Peluso wouldn't be the 1st choice to play otherwise, I would think.
  16. I like your reasoning...it's like continuing the election theme. Anybody but Ottawa, Toronto, Austin, Jones. Calgary won last year, so BC it is. Geez...picking another loooonng shot.
  17. Yeah I have a point, Bucko. I am saying you don't have a clue what security costs, and your entire opinion is politically biased. I am basing that on all of the bullshit you've posted about Harper in the past. But really who cares. The election is over, and I would hate to sound "pissy". Well, you're wrong..again.Just a simple statement on my part about the expense of transporting the vehicles. That's it. Doesn't matter who was the PM. You just want to spin something, wrong or not. But you're still pissed that your boy lost the election and that he lost because all that "bullshit" was true. Oh well.
  18. Here's my post bucko. No political bias.Just a statement..on security..and how I think 1.2 million sounds high. I just asked the question - are you an expert on foreign security? If not, how the hell would you know if the cost is ridiculous or not?Doesn't sound to me that I'm speaking as a qualified expert...at all. Sounds like I'm saying it sounds ridiculous to bring your own vehicles at an extra cost of $1.2 million. So, do you have a point, or are you just being pissy?
  19. GAME PREVIEW Columbus Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella will work his first home game since replacing Todd Richards on Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets. The Blue Jackets did not skate Saturday morning after losing 2-1 at the Washington Capitals on Friday. The game Saturday is sandwiched between four- and three-game road trips. Left wing Brandon Saad, who did not play Friday because of an illness will be in the lineup. Saad has three goals, tied for second on the Blue Jackets with Brandon Dubinsky and Scott Hartnell, but hasn't scored since the fourth game of the season against the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 14. Sergei Bobrovsky, will start. He has played all four games since Tortorella took over, going 2-2-0. Bobrovsky made 26 saves against the Capitals. Defenseman Kevin Connauton played for the first time Friday under Tortorella; Fedor Tyutin was a healthy scratch for the first time since Dec. 6, 2010. Jets: Despite allowing the first goal in eight of 10 games, the Jets are 5-2-1 in those games. Winnipeg fell behind Thursday but rallied for 3-1 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks to complete a 3-2-1 homestand. Saturday starts a stretch of four straight, and eight of nine on the road. "I thought we've had some pretty strong starts," Jets defenseman Tyler Myers said. "The other team just happened to get the first goal. We bounced back. That's what you need from a team. It shows a lot of character and not letting it affect you. "Certainly you want to score the first goal more often, especially on the road. You want to keep the other teams from getting momentum in front of their own fans." Here are the projected lineups: JETS Andrew Ladd – Bryan Little – Blake Wheeler Mathieu Perreault – Mark Scheifele – Nikolaj Ehlers Alexander Burmistrov – Adam Lowry – Drew Stafford Nic Petan – Andrew Copp - Chris Thorburn Toby Enstrom – Dustin Byfuglien Ben Chiarot – Tyler Myers Mark Stuart – Jacob Trouba Ondrej Pavelec, Michael Hutchinson Scratched: Adam Pardy, Anthony Peluso, Paul Postma
