  1. Oh, I fully realize that. It's just that if you find the time to criticize a player for his play, you should find the time to at least get his name right.
  2. Penton got what he wanted in revealing this tidbit of info. and that is speculative talk. I suspect that, to some degree, it's true. To what degree, and how it was done has not been disclosed. If Miller actually did the hiring of an asst....without support (MOS), then I don't like it. But talk like this is cheap, especially only pointing at the Bombers. (Only team doing this eh? Yeah right) But, the good news is that we moving on from an asst. Now, I wonder who that could be?
  3. No, the Americans would have fixed it already...and added a new west wing..
  4. Yes, that's exactly what I said. Let me look it up. Actually, no, that isn't what I said. AND you seem to conveniently overlook that he was on the ice when the Jets scored 3 goals, one of which he assisted on. So your playoff situation would also apply there. You're just pissed off at the timing of the penalty..which nobody here argued with. And yes, he would have the cajones to bench him, just not at the expense of the team. Relax...we won.
  5. Can't, once you resign, you resign, even though the sucktuation remains the same. He'd have to lurk in the Sun's comments section.
  6. He'd have gone to the BC Lion's camp...as an ---INT player, and in that scenario, more than likely, would have been cut. He's played at safety and linebacker at Dartmouth College. A report also says there were ---4 teams---who had him in for a workout. Likely why Wpg went high with their pick.
  7. Yeah, ain't hindsight a beautiful thing? You cannot, not take a guy you covet, with the thought that your plan will fail in the future. If you like what the guy has to offer, and he's available, go get him, and that's what the Bombers did. A fan should expect no less. I don't believe there were many who thought we'd be below .500. (starting QB missing many games excluded) And as far as having to watch who's being selected, you won't have to. There are many here already placing the ribbons in their typewriters for the "should have" posts.
  8. You know, I agree that it was a bone-headed last minute play. No doubt. But in a 5-4 win, it's hard to overlook a player with a +3 rating and with an assist to boot.
  9. Here in Kelowna-Lake Country, this is the "package" the defeated Conservative candidate, Ron Cannan will receive; Election 2015: Local MP's pension should soften loss posted Oct 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM— updated Oct 20, 2015 at 4:43 PM Outgoing Kelowna Lake Country MP Ron Cannan will walk away from politics with more than a pat on the back for a job well done. According to the Canadian Taxpayers federation, Cannan will get a Severence of $83,700 and an annual pension $46,632, up to a maximum of $2,348,810. “Losing an election can be tough, but most MPs will have a soft financial landing,” said CTF Federal Director Aaron Wudrick. “The good news is that thanks to the hard-fought pension reforms that take effect on Jan. 1, 2016, taxpayers will not have to shoulder as much of the burden in the future.” For MPs who retired or were defeated on Monday, taxpayers contributed $17 for every $1 put into the plan by an MP towards their pension. After January 1, 2016, the ratio will gradually shift to a ratio of $1.60 in taxpayer contributions for every $1 put in by an MP or Senator. Wudrick noted that eight former MPs will gather more than $100,000-plus a year in pension income including outgoing Conservative cabinet ministers John Duncan ($132,394), Peter MacKay ($117,746) and Bernard Valcourt ($116,987). In terms of lifetime estimated benefits to age 90, 21 MPs are projected to collect more than $3 million, including MacKay ($5.9 million), Liberal Gerry Byrne ($5.2 million) and Conservative Rob Anders ($4.7 million). “These pension changes are a welcome step towards broader public sector pension reform,” added Wudrick. “We encourage the new government to take the necessary steps to ensure government employee pensions are more in line with what the vast majority of Canadians working in the private sector expect to receive.”
  10. Buff was - +3 Perreault - 12:54 ice time. 1A Penalties - Jets 5 Wild 1 including the last 4 (we bad) Giveaways - Jets 16 Wild 19 Faceoff wins - Jets 36 Wild 29 Shots - Jets 33 Wild 30 Blocked shots - Jets 14 Wild 13 Thorburn ice time - 8:44 Myers and Stuart just over 20 mins ice time
  11. The scouting dept. has to be looked at from top to bottom and I wish somebody would inform us as to where the disconnect is between the coaching staff, the HC, the GM and the scouts. Are the scouts now settled and have an in-depth book on positions that we need? I would certainly friggin hope so by now. When our future OC discusses with our HC that he wants a certain type or dimension player, I want said HC to talk to the GM, and within a few days, that type of player is being looked at by somebody, somewhere to be brought on as soon as possible. I agree with JBR. I don't know what the problem/roadblock is concerning Danny McNanus, but we can't be waiting by the fax machine when our scouting staff is using the teletgraph system. Get up into the 21st century or get us somebody who is actually ahead of the curve. That whole department has to be scrutinized thoroughly. That action will determine for me, where Walters' head is at.
  12. I love it when the Jets play at this tempo. If they can stay away from penalties, they can roll 4 lines all over a Wild team, who played last night. 3-1
  13. Watch him get that stick on the puck, in our zone, to interrupt a pass that could lead to a goal. Watch him look for the safe play before he moves the puck out of zone or up the ice. Watch him stick handle to keep possession in the offensive zone. And his passes are there too. He's becoming a more complete player. The goals and points will come. Maurice knows what he's got.
  14. The area of scouting is what has surprised me the most. I expected more. An overseer, such as you mention is also a good idea. MB's dismissal cannot come soon enough. And it must be done. I'd find it hard to argue for anybody on our current Offensive staff. When it boils down to it, we need stability and well thought out moves, well before knee-jerk-fire-everybody mentality. Thanks for starting that process.
  15. I think the point is, if you're trying to make a point/complaint about a player/situation, at least get the right player, position and the spelling of the players....who play for our team...right. Fo far I've seen Bryant Turner playing left tackle and Enoch Muamba being talked about. Now, how you spell Hajrallahu may get one a pass...
  16. The only dimness I see is in the theories about keeping MB...because nobody would want to be here.
  17. Burmistrov has been all over the ice handling his responsibilities. He was a good player before, but for Noel. It wouldn't surprise me for Burmi to keep trending upwards..
  18. Enoch Muamba....? Really? Your whole message has been nullified.
  19. It's hard to stick up for any offensive player, but Chungh battled hard, and to me, Moore, Denmark and Adams wanted the ball...they really wanted the ball. And we couldn't always get it to them. Some of Nichols throws were awesome...some weren't worth throwing..at all. This offence is just all so wrong. It's really hard to get a worth of the players when the schemes are to be questioned so hard. On defence...Turner, arguably had his best game. Bass, Johnson and the Moe-man Leggett had good games...again. A couple of weird non-calls for no yards on the Blue returners and no roughing after tossing Wild down...clearly out of bounds. On to next year, and now I curse the bye week...for the delay.
  20. I'm going to call you out and say a large Bullshit! Then I'll offer a challenge, explain why keeping Walters and MOS is a good idea. Here's a question, and I realize it's a hypothetical but play along if you don't mind (Others as well if you feel so inclined). Consider the wins we have now this season, and the amount of games we've lost in the final few minutes this year. Now assume we build a solid offensive line, Drew Willy plays 15-17 games (it's rare to play all 18 after all) and we have a new OC - What do you think our record is? Just curious. And this is the very point.
  21. No, they didn't, but no defense can consistently excel when they spend so much time on the field. The O has to give them a break from time to time. Look at the time our D spent on the field today. The defense is the best part of our team, but they didn't wear down as the game went on. Ottawa threw for 300 yards in the first half. The RedBlacks did well with the ball...but they also had the ball. That's the point. If our offence could move the ball and hold on to the ball...Ottawa wouldn't have the ball, and would do less with it, and the defence wouldn't be on the field. I thought this was self-evident.But in the end, their OC out-smarted our DC, and that's all that counts.
  22. Seeing as Bryant Turner had a massive game as our DEFENSIVE TACKLE with 3 tackles and a sack and a defensive presence that has been missing lately, I guess we have to wonder if you're paying attention..
