Jeffcoat placed on 6 game.

Who is our receivers coach?  Is it the same guy who couldn't figure out how to use Adarius Bowman in 2010, cut him and then got to watch him be one of the top receivers in the CFL for the next 5 years, most of that working for TSN?
The only guy we've kept for more than one season in that PR/fringe player role is Lankford.  
I'm not sure Calgary is any better at bringing guys up or in who they choose to bring to camp beyond the obvious ones like Daniels, but they sure as hell are better at developing receivers and giving guys time to develop.

I'm tired of watching...the speed that everyone else has at receiver.

Nope. Jets want long term. Apparently he prefers bridge. It will get done soon. Likely see him sign soon long term. Not concerned at All. Lots of RFAs haven't signed yet. Hes here in Winnipeg and has been for 2 weeks now. It will get done soon.

A month ago, we were talking up the upcoming 4 games as "finding out what kind of team we have"
Ottawa - didn't show up, got blown out
Stamps - 2nd half collapse 
Riders series - overall was there....but totally boned ourselves with critical errors.
That sort of thing.... that can induce a bit of "negativism"  It certainty does not indicate some kind of lack of realism.
That said, there is time to right the ship and pull a Toronto, this year - but it has to start real soon.

Hell, everybody liked Loffler better.....when he was a visible, play making part of the D....doling out big hits, picking off passes etc.   But watching him this year - just not making any plays, and his lack of range is problematic, in terms of over the top help for anybody, back there.
Like watching a ball rolling right off the table.
 

Family, health and other issues have made this year particularly difficult to crank out the O+S this year.   I apologize to the small and devoted following, for this.  May produce one in the morning - if I can restrain myself from overly ranting about this particular abortion.....

They didn’t run a single read option.  You are talking about a quarterback draw.  There was no other option.  The play was just Streveler running, no back to hand it to, no pass option, no read to make other than for Streveler to try to find a gap to run to.  
They had zippo installed for Streveler, nothing.  The only difference between the calls for him and Nichols was they called QB Draw twice in that half he played.  It was a disgraceful display of coaching by Lapolice.  How can they go into that game knowing where Nichols is at and not give reps to Streveler and have a game plan ready for Streveler as well?  To me that’s  fireable amount of negligence for an OC.

We should dress Flanders. Even if there’s no specific role for him It would be nice to spell Harris and have a legit backup on the roster who doesn’t fumble he game away when he has to come in for a series. Hopefully once Gray is here that’s more of a possibility.

I’m less about stats and more about the eye test. Streveler passes the eye test. Nichols does not. 

It occurs me that whatever Nichols is going through psychologically might be related to the horrific injury he suffered in Edmonton which came close to not only ending his career but crippling him for life. If that injury was really traumatic for him, he might be reliving it in this recent incident. However, in the end, it doesn't matter. Either he can play at a high level or not.

The scary part is just how much worse our D would be without Bighill. 

Lapo is the best OC this league has ever seen.    That out of the way..... look forward to viewing his Twitter feed.

I don't think it is an issue with the play calling...hard to determine if it is Nichol's not being able to execute on all the options, or gets jitters and just want to dump it off for fear of getting injured further..and I don't think he is 100 percent...in body and mind
I see receivers open...or in a position to be thrown open or lead to a ball...and Nichols isn't pulling the trigger for whatever reason. Also...teams know he is no threat to run this year, and basically disregard that in their pass rush, and even on a play action/roll out...they know he ain't going anywhere. Tho he was no major threat or consistent runner before, the ability/threat was there...and that is huge in an offence to hum along nicely.
The fact that Harris is able to accomplish what he is right now is amazing and is a tribute to his talent...and the o-line...now if we could insert a QB who can threaten a defense with the notion he may take off, as well as stand in and make intermediate passes and utilize the offence then we will be onto something...but right now..Nichols funk is affecting things big time and it is the issue we have sputtered..
 
 

At least you didn’t get blocked by the Bombers Twitter for telling them it was pathetic that they were endorsing tweets calling fans “losers”, among other things, for booing Nichols.

I think just about every qb would have a hard time finding Lankford, but I digress. I get your point, though.

Ho boy, that really takes me back.  Joey 'the ego' Elliott - could only make completions against zone coverage. 

I am not sold on Trevor Harris. In the Ottawa vs. Montreal game last week, he did nothing, possession after possession. Well, other than rattle off long snap counts. 

Bombers have the worst passing attack in the league, right now.  Lack of poise and errant throws from Nichols, receivers who don't make plays, and a scheme that seems to go into a shell, as games wear on.   Until this gets straightened out - the losing will continue.

The Riders?  Really?  I had to pull out one of the airline barf bags I stole on my last flight when time ran off the clock.  And I was listening to the game online.  I have no clue what would have happened if I was watching the game.

What is happening?  Even Montreal beat the East leading Redblacks and our team is struggling to hold onto the crossover position.  We want to go that route through Hamilton and Ottawa....IF WE CAN WIN another game. 😉

Only one on the OL too.  2 of them Nichols statued against 3 man rush, didn't throw it away, didn't scramble, just hunkered down until the Riders worked to him.  On the 3rd one Hughes and Jefferson turnstiled both tackles.
