He used both QBs. There was short yardage stuff, longer throws and lots of deception. I don't think he can call a better game given the QBs he has. 

Agree. It's week to week now so why not hang in there to see what happens? Strange decision by Gaitor. 
 

Impressive thing about collaros last night was his ball placement and catchability. Of 6 incompletions 1 was a pick on him but was a product of lack of experience in the system. 2 throw aways and 2 passes were wrs flubbed. Darvin Adams on the challenge shouldve turned up field sooner on the scramble if he did he probably scores on that play. The other demski half dropped as he was hit from behind. 
Combine that with the fact we saw soo few second down check downs for half the distance needed or less. And he hit guys in stride a lot. Letting them keep their momentum and not have to come back to the ball a lot. The most accurate passing we've seen in a very long time all in all. 
Our pass rush really misses having Nevis and Richardson in as starters. 
Kongbo had a great game too if few stats. Couple pressures couple qb hits a pass knock down and got in on a bunch of gang tackles. The 30 front look with a de at nose was pretty dismal for the ends to play through too. 

He may have played with courage (good on him) but it's painfully obvious that he can't make the throws to be a competent CFL starter.

Let's compare apples to apples shall we?  Not what an 8 year vet has accomplished compared to a guy who has less than a full season of playing time under his belt.  Through Nichols first 23 games with Edmonton (Streveler has been in 24):
270 / 443 (60.9% completion rate) for 3386 (12.5 yards per completion) with 19 TDs and 18 interceptions. He added 36 carries for 138 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and 3 touchdowns
Streveler by comparison:
224 / 347 (64.5% completion rate) for 2564 yards (11.44 yards per completion) with 18 TDs and 17 interceptions. He added 182 carries for 1089 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and 22TDs

Both are trash QBs. 

Second one was bad. First one was a jump ball in the end zone with one on one coverage. Adams didn’t give much effort and was tugged most of the way down the field. You could argue he didn’t need to take that shot there but we’ve settled for field goals with poor clock management in those scenarios so often, it doesn’t bother me much. 

Lapo without Whitehead is forced to actually call a real game plan. Streveler made some young qb mistakes, but also did some really good things.

Seems like the expectations were that we acquire a QB that doesn’t exist.
We got the best QB we possibly could have at a very tolerable price. Literally no harm done by doing this at all. 

It doesn’t  matter who lines up behind center if we insist on driving square pegs into round holes.

Not defending Streveler, but really every other team in the league no matter who is playing QB has receivers open, outside of us and Ottawa.  Something is really wrong with the design of the routes and protections regardless of who is at QB, and it's been that way with Lapo forever back to his time as HC, pre-Crowton.  Our QB's aren't great but they aren't this bad either.

IMHO our best O-line production was with Gray and Speller at the guard positions.  The play execution was pretty good, but missing of late is the agitator factor Gray brought to the line.  In his starts he was living rent free in the opposing d-lines’ heads.
A shame there is an issue keeping them from going back to that... be it injury or personnel management...

Allow me 3 observations.
Bighill was next to invisible. Secondary is way too soft. Compete level disappeared way too early...OShea has to wear that.
