    Damien Jackson is truly legendary
I feel that in years we will be talking about him like SNL talked about Bill Brasky. Truly a man of the people for the people.

Yup there are many avenues to get what you want streamed and not be beholden to cable companies and corporations that have consumers by the nuts.

You are not missing out on anything.   We used to buy lunch mates and similar things for our daughter for lunches and then realized they taste awful, heavily processed,  and are over priced.   It's much better and cheaper to just buy real meat and cheese and DIY.

My favorite off season sports! Pointing out how off season record predictions don't add up, there are more losses than wins lol

Joe Flaherty dead at 82........ugh. One of the more underrated of that group that came up together around Toronto in the early 70s. There was a whole scene... kinda started with a production of Godspell.... Marty Short, Gene Levy, Paul Shaffer, Vic Garber.... and then of course Gilda, Candy, Flaherty and others. The seeds of SCTV and even SNL started back then. Flaherty was so so so funny... what a shame. 82 still feels too young.

Is this a bad time to say that Hollywood has been doing this since the beginning?    It was worse in the 30's - 50's where they pilled up young girls and did unimaginable things with them.   Read about the Wizard of Oz and what they did with Judy Garland it's insane.
Same with the music industry.    look at people like Steven Tyler in the old days taking a 14 year old on tour with him and yet people never really gave a crap this many years later.
Nearly every place of entertainment has some sort of black cloud covering it.   Sadly money hides lots of horrible behaviours.

We went to the Childrens Museum a few weekends ago with other couples and children and outside of the Forks area was still sketchy.  Homeless camps and questionable people wandering around that I wouldn't feel safe.    Within the Forks it was very busy and a nice mix of all ages and types of people.  The food court is really good at the Forks ,  above average offerings and it's a decent atmosphere.  Was only accosted by one methed out dude but thankfully he wasn't aggressive.  Talking with the other parents they hadn't been to the Forks in a long while because of the safety concerns from the frequent attacks and were all perhaps reconsidering since this visit wasn't all that terrible.
The next day I get sent this link:
    https://globalnews.ca/news/10354158/teens-arrested-charged-altercation-security-forks-market-winnipeg-police/
Missed the incident by only 30 minutes,  but once again re-affirmed why the area sucks and even more reason why I won't be bringing my family back at the Forks anytime soon.
As for your comment,  I have several friends and even myself at one point who had moved away and then either misremember Winnipeg or see it through nostalgia-glasses... but they all romanticize coming back to the Peg.  Usually it goes away after coming back for a few weeks and the honeymoon period wears off.   Fishing at the Forks in theory makes perfect sense... unfortunately the more likely result will be trying it out and getting tired of always looking over your shoulder and never being able to relax and you ending up with everyone else going to lockport ,  Selkirk, or Gimli where you can relax and have a nice safe and peaceful fishing experience.

That would be an extreme exaggeration.    A more accurate description would be  "after many years of nothing,  the area is slowly seeing some movement in development".
The only areas that are booming are the burbs closer to the perimeter where a crap tonne of development is still being done and I have no idea who are buying up all those condos and townhouses.

Have you never heard of Chris Benoit?   I've met several people (mostly wrestlers) and MMA/Kickboxers with CTE and it is very obvious that some of them cannot process or think properly and have something very off with them.
I've also visited nearly every reserve in Manitoba numerous times and what you are saying is something completely different.  Some reserves are fantastic and others remind me of the original Mad Max movies.   For the bad ones usually it has rampant corruption within the reserve where they maintain terrible traditions or behaviours such as pimping out girls when they are 8 years old to friends/family,  lots of alchoal and abuse,   lots of extreme neglect,  all while the bad people are protected by the elders.   Lots of suicides are a result from extreme depression and extreme abuse without being able to escape because everything is covered up.   MMIWG exists because nearly every case is someone within the reserve committing the crime with others covering for each other.   It's really sad.   Suicides in reserves are primarily with younger people ,  I remember 5 or so years ago visiting a reserve where they had an epidemic where 20+ teens committed suicide over the course of one summer.  Naturally the news never covered it.
Usually for the people who can escape these places and find success in life do not commit suicide when they are 50+.  It seems far more plausible that CTE would be the reason.   Many times it is a vicious cycle where someone is in extreme pain from the CTE so they take drugs and the cycle continues to a point where they are so messed that they usually OD.

I found Lawler/Schoen were larger factors in bailing him out with amazing catches.
Zach wasn't bad but he definitely has taken a few steps back in overall play.  I'm not sure if it was a direct result in having lesser pass protection then from a few years ago.

Trevor Harris is 6'3 215 lbs and he gets hurt frequently as well.  I don't think size is the issue.
What will be an issue is going from a well oiled machine running on full cylinders  to a team that for the last few years has been in a haze and completely dysfunctional.
It makes a huge difference for a QB when he isn't continously under pressure,  having to frequently go 2nd and long,  receivers dropping balls or running bad routes etc....

Does Dru Brown have so much talent that he can elevate the mess around him,  I don't think so.   Hopefully Ottawa makes the right changes to at least give the guy a chance.
