Well I choose poorly for this week pick'em. That late 2nd quarter INT from Masoli completely killed them. Also a poor gameplan from Benevides tonight, I can see him getting chopped soon. Maier looked lousy IMO, very beatable if a team locked down the Riders run game.

And join a cult?

He tossed some 50 / 50 balls for which our receivers made the big play. A couple of bad breaks and I think more people would be beaking about him losing it....
-
He had one play where he pushed back his o-lineman while being held. Last week he had zero positive plays. That is all. Lawson wasn't exactly lights out himself, but at least he makes a few plays per game when given a chance. It's better then none or one in this case.

They should bring back Dunigan

He had a better game last night then the previous week.... let that sink in.

What a dog fight of a game. Edmonton came to play and played very hard on both lines. You can tell the guys are trying hard for Killam and I hope they give him a chance even if they start out 0 - 6 again. Lots of hard tackling and I think mid game it woke up the Bombers and they started to match the intensity. Even with the terrible 3rd quarter it was an entertaining game. Zach looked better, had good protection and made an equal amount of good throws to his bad throws. The old arm I think is failing him and he's still under throwing some deep balls, I hope this is just rust. Tre Ford wasn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Had that receiver caught that easy TD it may have changed the outcome of the game. The Bombers did a great job of containing him and mentally I think Ford is weak. In the 3rd and 4th quarter several times he pouted to the refs looking for phantom calls and those 2 deep balls with 4 minutes left were bad decisions. He should be lucky that the refs didn't call the several blatant holds that gave him time in the first half. The last drive he floated some weird throws that were questionable. Still a question mark on the guy but he wasn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be. My 2nd game of watching Jake Thomas.... In the 2nd quarter he had one good rush where he was being held and should of been a call. Other then that... he is a pylon who still gets pushed around. Completely useless. Lawson wasn't that great in the first half but he was the guy that rushed Ford on the Bonds "interception" that was called off. Clercius had a good come back game after a rough outing last week, I hope he gets more involved. Sterns also isn't as bad as people make him out to be, I'm ok with him playing. Vaval with a brutal fumble which could of completely turned the game on us had Kramdi not made that huge play. We had full momentum and his botch killed it completely. Glad it didn't factor in the end.

1 - Demski 2 - Lb'ers 3 - Hogan for calling a balanced game. HH - Holm all over the field tonight. I did not include Zach as he did still lob several 50/50 balls that were iffy. A better effort but still got away with 2 - 3 passes that could of been picked off.

I had one bite of the Teriyaki Chicken sandwich... it tasted like I chugged a bottle of Soya sauce directly. The amount of salt I tasted nearly put me in a coma it was disgusting. The sauce needs to be dliuted massively or if they were to put maybe 10% of what they had on this one it would possibly be decent.

They are not paying for him to be veteran insurance for Strev. And just think... they extended him for another season so this means 2026 is the Zach show again.

No worries we have Eli who can come in and make some plays

I liked what I saw from Cooley and would love to see him get more reps. He seemed to be a guy like Charles Roberts who can do quick cuts and find holes but with the added benefit of being build like a tank and being able to power through for a few extra yards. It would be nice to see if he can be the real deal.

I'd say right now Masoli is still a better option then guys like Dolegala or Dom Davis. Not many veteran QB's that a team can sign.
-
I didn't say he played well, I said he looked healthy. Some folks on here made it out that he was playing like a crippled person with a cane in week 1. He was mobile and he had no issues throwing the ball quickly. Physically he looked decent to me.
-
Bottom line: QB play was better last week
-
I thought Masoli looked healthy and he was able to throw deep with no issues despite being in his 30's. Guys like Burris and Calvillo were able to toss bombs with no issues when they were old. Zach never had great arm strength and it's definitely looking diminished over the last two seasons. So those deep balls are really sketchy unless he has room to throw into it.

Butler was super effective as a dump off receiver in the back field back in 2022. It appears Pierce hasn't watched the tape from back then when it worked. If you have the game on PVR or have the link on YouTube re watch Thomas. I watched for him on every play and he was getting rag dolled and tossed around with ease. I think he pushed back Couture only twice in the whole game, otherwise he was getting flinged around with great ease.

So when do the Riders respond and sign Solomon Aluminium ?

I just watched the game, that 2nd and 3rd quarter on O was very stinky. Poor execution all around by many guys. I didn't mind the play selection , it was just bad o-line , a few bad drops, bad Zach.... everything looked very pre season like. It seemed like when BC was able to stop the run that the Bombers had zero answer. Zach looks as bad as he did in the Grey Cup and last season. Those lame duck ints were completely unnecessary. That first pic was underthrown in double coverage.... why? That 2nd pic was forced for no reason at all considering we had a big lead and didn't need to force a throw deep in our end so late in the game. I don't think his arm is shot like Matt Nichols but he definitely is having issues in his decision making and apparently his execution. The secondary did make a few mistakes but for the most part they swarmed and I really liked what I saw out of them. Same with Jones and Griffin at lb those guys were noticed on the field. D-line I specifically watched Jake Thomas for this game to see if maybe people on here such as myself are over exaggerating his play. I encourage anyone with PVR to rewatch the game and keep and eye on him. That guy was big brothered all night long and was comically out muscled and tossed around on nearly each play. He was also the guy who completely bit on the play action with Masoli that gave them one of their only positive plays. I watched Thomas run full steam ahead and crash and bounce back several times. The only time he was near the QB was when he was tossed around like a losing sumo fighter and he would somersault somewhat near Masoli. He was on the field way to much tonight and while Lawson wasn't an all star. At least Lawson wasn't pushed around and he made the one big play that resulted in an interception and he at least plugged the lane at times. Thomas was a pylon blowing in the wind... just completely useless. Zach can not play like a vintage Danny Mac gunslinger... I'd like to see him throw on the run more.

1 - Secondary 2 - Lb'ers 3 - Wheatfall Outside of Zach being off, Clercius had himself a really bad game. Thomas was awful as usual.

We like to call that "Harris time"

Non Bomber GDT's-Sask at Toronto/ Ottawa at Calgary

Damn you Argos... I picked them in the upset and naturally they gave it away at the end Also what's the deal with Dinwiddie's cherry nose? It seems to be getting more Rudolph like as each year goes by? Skin condition or does he have a serious drinking problem these days? -
Prior to last week people were "pumping" Chris Streveler post major injuries and referencing the time he was throwing balls for us in 2018 !!! The success of Nick Arbuckle was way back in 2019 and yet he was able to dominate us in the biggest game of the year last season. Dru Brown has three consecutive 400+ yard passing games and a record of 1 - 2... so does that mean he sucks based on your logic? History has shown that Masoli can move the ball against us , way more so then Rourke all while playing on much crappier teams. I'm hoping that Masoli is shot and we blow them away but it would be ignorant to suggest that we can't take him seriously based on assumptions that he is a cripple who can't throw anymore based on limited garbage time coming off the bench cold as a back up.
-
He's averaged nearly 340 yards per game against us before and after his various injuries. Also this is a team that crumpled against Arbuckle in the most important game of the year.... so I'd say their is more then enough reason to be unsure.
