  1. I remember the last time we cheaped out on a place kicker and how that ended up... Castillo is far from being an easy cost cutting player.
  2. What a weird few messages, a drunk addict who embarrassed his father (yet again) and who was going to get cut off decided to kill his parents in a drug fuel rage. I don't think Rob Reiners political stance made any iota of a difference from what happened that night. Reading/watching about the kid and how f'd up he was over many years it was not a surprise that he did the unthinkable. I don't think baby'ing a manchild for so many years is a valid reason to be killed.
  3. TV is more so for personalities, Barker was annoying. I look forward to BLM retiring and joining the panel.
  4. I will chime in that we went to the Winter Wonderland lights at the Downs this year for the first time and it was fantastic. I would recommend for anyone who has not gone yet, it is worth checking it out next year when it comes back. I think the drive was around 20 minutes in length , 30 dollars per car (a bit steep), but my youngest had the biggest grin on her face which made it well worth going.
  5. Do we know what other Canadian lb'ers are being paid?
  6. Now now, we constantly mention how tackles is a misleading stat to judge a player on. We would rather our D have less tackles , the league leaders usually are guys on crap teams who are on the field more then they should be. You only remember this because it's the only time he's done anything on the field. I can't name specifically each time Willie swatted a ball out of the air, I just know that he has done it multiple times. Kramdi laid in many big hits, it's a common occurence so re-watch the games and you'll see he's more of a factor then many of the guys on our D. Big plays don't always equal a great all around player. I remember people frothing at the mouth when we first had Houston because of his ints.... and remembering those big plays but then forgetting the numerous times he was burned for big passing plays.
  7. The night life in Winnipeg is the worst out of any of those cities by a long mile. This was the original point from the earlier messages on here. One of the major factors of why downtown is dead is because of just how much of a cesspool it is and how large of that cesspool it expands. I've not been to Edmonton in many years, but I've been to each of the other cities that you listed and those have downtowns that have areas that are light years more active and vibrant then our downtown. Fake narrative? The "main strip" has tent city and drunken bums and at least 50% of the buildings for lease and empty. Show me where downtown has a pulse and where one could go without getting acosted. It used to be "The Forks" but even that area is bad now. Yes every city has "bad areas" but Winnipeg downtown is basically 100% bad area.
  8. Yes he does make plays, I watched numerous games where he stood out making a timely play. Watching him on TSN they bring him up in a positive light on a semi frequent basis. It's not like Jake Thomas where the best they can say is "He's been around a long time" and "He is a player that is playing on a team". He's making more plays then he is whiffing. It's a matter of people making something out of nothing. If we were to watch and isolate every play Stanley Bryant was on, you would see him whiffing blocks also. Much more lately then 5 years ago. It's just that he doesn't have a narrative where people want to hate on him , so it goes un talked about on here. Kramdi is a good player, B level IMO. It's not an outrageous signing like F level Jake Thomas or back when they kept the F level Navy Seal guy around for a year.
  9. Can we re-structure Zach's contract so we add money for TD's thrown and reduce money for each INT? Deduct $500 each time he tosses into triple coverage? We'd come out paying him league minimum salary!
  10. Didn't Tyrell Ford sign for like $240 000 with Edmonton? Kramdi gets a lot of hate for whatever reason? I wouldn't consider him elite, but he's a guy who does make plays and doesn't fall invisible for games at a time.

  12. 600 k for a guy who played like the 8th best QB in the league last year....

  14. Did you not read the O'Shea quote? He's a nice guy and people like him.
  15. What is crazy is that Yvensen Bernard also had 112 yards rushing in that game!
  16. I'm thinking it is the fear of dropping nice guys from the club and giving a guy a pity job because god knows why O'Shea has troubles getting rid of the dead weight.
  17. He's played in 13/14 play off games with this year being the only year he wasn't in the game?
  18. He's played in 16, 18, 17 games in the last 3 seasons. As a Blue Bomber he's played in 112 out of 126 regular season games since joining us. 89% seems higher then most other guys?
  19. I guess this means the Riders cannot sign any more players in free agency since they paid one guy a big contract. As per the experts on this site.
  20. Taking off the Blue tinted glasses ... I still have heard absolutely nothing but praise for Bob over the years and the word "legendary" usually attached to his name. I've never heard anyone (with exception of Mike Kelly) have a cross word or any sort of negativity attached to Bob.
  21. Why is Willson employed? Reading his other posts he's extremely childish and acts like a baby whenever anyone calls him out. Get rid of him ASAP.
  22. He was a starter for 4 out of the 5 years and went to the pro bowl once before he won the Super Bowl. Darnold with that defense and surrounding cast can go far. A superstar team with a mediocre qb can win it all like Trent Dilfer did.
