2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season Thread
Brandon replied to TBURGESS's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I remember him cutting talented guys and then running a crappy out dated offense that failed horribly and mid season he tried to salvage the year by signing Bishop and throwing bombs. Maybe I mis-remembered , but didn't Kelly critique anyone running plays in the shotgun formation and then mid season that was all that he was running? -

I think he means Jarrett Doege who played with Edmonton a few games over the last 2 years. -

MBT can throw the ball and is durable. I'd have no issues if they can't find anyone else. I'm hoping Strev or Wilson can get some real play time and can show that they can run the O this season. -

I'm mostly worried that O'Shea will wait until it is painfully obvious that we need to move on from starting QB and that they'll sign him for another season even if he has an incredible mediocre 2025. We've seen it before. I don't think Strev will be the answer since he's damaged goods, I wonder who will be available and if they use a bridge QB for a year or two. -
The level of stupidity in some of these folks is unbelievable. I made the mistake of following the rabbit hole of Johnny Somali and Vitali and it's mind blowing that people are willing to throw away years of their lives in jail in exchange for a few thousand dollars on live streams.

1st point I believe he is guilty. The guy worships the Tates that alone makes him guilty in my mind. Also when many women throw themselves at superstars they begin to feel that nobody can say no and that they are entitled to have whatever they want. 2nd point Lots of stories of female teachers sleeping with under age students. It's extremely disturbing and sadly gets minimalized because many times it's beautiful ladies. South Park did a full episode about it. -

Hell no, why would you lump sexual deviants with us regular men? Men are not awful, most of us are good people. -

Dru Brown played much better then Zach did last season, Zach was really subpar in the first half of the season. I am going to assume next season is his last with us? -

So how long before Chris Jones returns as HC of the Elks? Do they have a thing against trying new people out in positions? It feels like it's a constant recycling of has beens with them. -

That dude has always been a complete creep, I hope he gets locked up. -
The Ghost and the Darkness is also a great under rated movie.

His career has been up and down, hot and cold. In Montreal one game he is a world beater and then the next game he is off and misses routine throws. He's a great 1-B QB , not sure if he's actually consistent enough to have a team on his shoulders. -
I'm more excited for the new video game then for any of the upcoming movies. This looks like a lot of fun.

If anyone has ever been to Ontario they would know that 99% of old white guys are Leafs fans who still consume their sports news from the tv. It makes sense on why the Jets are "buried".

I will say Rogue One was a very entertaining movie for me , that was the only one that I enjoyed.

You mean Lucas didn't envision Luke Skywalker as being a weak pathetic cry baby when he originally created the character?

Other teams don't seem to have issues with getting around no trade clauses. Why can't we do the same?

Elliott had 5 TD passes and like 15 interceptions with his time with us... he wasn't good. He just looked "decent" because Pierce was a shell of himself and our other back ups were terrible. Brink played scared , Boltus had 3 ints and multiple fumbles while connecting on only 8 completions with us, and Goltz was in a commercial. -

Hell no, Boltus was only ever spoken about being the bottom of the long list of mediocre qbs that came and left post Mike Kelly era. Joey Elliott was the guy that was beloved and a few people who are still on these boards used to preach about him on a frequent basis. -

You contradicted yourself... Bottom line is the Moose is a great experience for younger children and seniors, the experience is fun and the on ice product is at a higher level then what we watch in the CFL. Sorry to burst the bubble but at one point in time Kyle Connor, Connor Hellebuyck, Gab Vilardi, Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey and others were playing in the AHL and those guys are current superstars playing at the highest levels. The CFL just doesn't have that same level of talent. It doesn't mean that the CFL is boring and not a great watch. But to suggest that the AHL is more of a minor league being further from "the big league" is silly. I've watched the Moose numerous times over the years and never once have I attended a game and thought "Wow these guys are so amateurish and this is such a sloppy game where everyone is making mistakes and looks like ****". I've always thought the opposite where I'm impressed at just how good these guys are and just how tough it must be to crack an NHL line up considering how sharp these guys play. I've also watched plenty of CFL and seen a guy like Jason Boltus line up and me questioning what the hell am I watching? I'll place the odds of any current Moose player cracking an NHL line up as a higher chance then Jake Thomas ever signing with an NFL team.
