Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
Brandon replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If the CFL were to merge with the UFL, it would be within 2 years that both leagues completely fold for good. -
https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/argos-shut-down-qb-arbuckle-for-season/ Arbuckle out for the rest of the season. The Argos are toast for this year.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

So what you are saying is that we need our o-line to gel (for once) , Zach to remain healthy and not force throws, fringe receivers to step up and play like starters, O'Shea to sit Thomas and use the roster properly and rotate guys on the d-line. the lbers to remain healthy, dbs to continue to press and guys like Houston to step up rather then revert back to getting burned. We need to pray that the terrible play on the O was not a result of Hogan playcalling and more so Zach + o-line issues. We need to hope that none of the key starters get hurt and then trotted out like Bighill was. We need to hope that the weather turns cold and miserable. We need to hope that other teams like Calgary continue to struggle. We need to make sure that we don't face a back up QB who for whatever reason will have the game of his life against us. And if all of this happens we might have a shot of winning it all? -

It's on par with his career. Roller coaster of highs and lows. -

I fondly remember burning my tongue and upper part of my mouth with a ridiculously lava hot chocolate during the Grey Cup back in the day. It was like 99% water with a 1% tinge of chocolate powder. -
Maybe we can suggest a promotion for Hogan ... RB HC for 2026

A more honest update is that people are frustrated that this club has moved glacially slow in making the necessary changes that other clubs would have addressed immediately instead of waiting half a season and/or until a player gets injured. O'Shea saying "nothing wrong all is good" has made people believe that he is arrogant and stubborn and unwilling to admit that they made poor decisions and need to change. The lack of free agent signings and giving Zach a big contract for next season has soured the people on Walters. The roster management has been terrible and people are split on blaming O'Shea or Walters. Nobody can understand why Jake Thomas is starting and puzzled on why they have not attempted new players to see if they can create a spark. I don't think anyone wants either Walters/O'Shea to be fired... just a kick in the pants and for them to stop sniffing their own farts and stop resting on pass success and do something. Everyone has agreed that the new OC Hogan needs to be fired ASAP. -
Sad to see a family owned business closing down. We need more of these and less American chain restaurants.....

Wheatfall currently has more yards then Brazzell ever had with the Blue in his 3 seasons with us. -

I miss the days when we had Barrin Simpson and Joe Lobendahn smashing guys at the line. -

He only needs 110 yard to surpass the best season that Stoddard ever had in his career. -
Great deal for the Stamps, the guy was really good last season, Maybe a change of scenery will make a difference for him.

Sterns has been consistent despite people ragging on him. Not a great receiver but also a guy who hasn't dropped the easy ones thrown his way. -
The East is wide open.... the West I don't believe Harris and Adams have ever shown that they can play well in cold weather.

It's one of the top places in this area of town. Much better then any of the chain restaurants on Regent or anything along Henderson Hwy.

We may have that in Wilson. Still waiting for his chance to play.

I thought the biggest change was Zach was getting the ball out quickly. People have been ragging on our o-line all season , they weren't that much different today. The biggest difference was Zach would take two steps back and rifle the ball to the receiver. It slowed down the pass rush massively. Zach was on, BLM was off just a smidge and it made a huge difference. Also Lawler/ O'Leary Orange both missed multiple catchable balls. -

Good luck on that. Basketball is a global sport that is known worldwide and the barrier to entry is one ball for a group of people and a court which most schools/parks already have. NBA is also well ingrained in younger people culture. I can't imagine how impossible of a challenge it would be to do so for the CFL. -

I can't stand Kimmel but this is great news. FCC being involved to stop free speech is an absolutely terrifying thing which 50% of the Americans should wake up and realize that what happened is a very dangerous path if it continues.

The 18 - 30 year old male/female market can be drawn into going for the gameday experience. It should work great for Winnipeg/Regina since we really don't have many options for young people to go out and socialize. Comparing that to Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver which has a million options. Those places will have great challenges. As said before the only thing that can attract new younger fans (kids) is parents. Unfortunately the birth rate is in a sharp decline so the market for future fans is dwindling at a rapid rate. -

Why would the CFL be playing in American stadiums. The 'Murricans have zero interest in our game. -

I don't understand the point of shrinking the field ? Is the idea that with 100 yard fields that more points will be scored? Are these changes really going to make any sort of impact on creating interest and increasing revenue for the league? -

During my 20's and 30's I had lots of friends/co workers who were friendly with Bombers/Jets players. It's not out of the realm to believe that people on here have inside stories. I'm still waiting to find out who knows what blackmail that Jake Thomas has on O'Shea... anyone? -

Football fans are aging out of the CFL big time. For Canada the white population which makes up a large majority of the CFL audience are just no longer having kids and families at all. As each generation goes by that rate keeps dropping at a significant rate. Canada has replaced the drop in population via immigration and those folks have absolutely zero interest in Canadian football. 30 years ago when I was a kid the parks were full of kids playing soccer/football and the streets had tonnes of kids playing street hockey. Nowdays they are almost all empty with exception of the East Indian community who are the only ones in my area that utilize the parks and those kids are playing soccer mainly. I'm not sure how you can grow the football game to folks with zero nostalgia or awareness of it. This is why I think Miller has done a great job of making a Blue Bomber home game a fun event. It's an event that can appeal for all ages and the football game is the icing on the cake. I don't believe the invention of an IPad has destroyed interest in the CFL.
