I wasn't the biggest Hall fan, but in fairness we had zero o-line , an awful awful head coach, a jerry rigged gameplan on offense and yet he still managed to play decently. My only concern on Hall is his arm strength.... his other attributes are quite solid. Plus I always think the team should have at least 1 veteran qb at 2nd or 3rd string and Hall should fit that role quite nicely. Glenn of course would of been better but with the options out there I think Hall is the best bet (next to Smokin Joey Elliott!!)

hmm, just a question here about the wrestling stuff, were the wrestlers in character at the time? cuz, if they were.. then them getting upset is actually just part of the act. Especially if they were portraying heels. Unfortunately no, for the most part it was guys who were really skinny and unable to pull off most moves (suplexes) because they were 150 lbs and tiny. I mentioned it before in another thread one of my favorite moments was when a drunk lady jumped in the ring and over powered the wrestler and pinned him resulting in many laughs and the promoter shaking his head in pity. Lol.

Those of us that remember Dieter Brock in his prime still hunger for a guy that could huck a ball 50 yards with a flick of his wrist. Dieter could throw a football through a car wash and it would be still be dry on the other side. Yes that gives me a chubby, and I'm proud to say it. Michael Bishop could do the same. How did that turn out for the teams he played with? How many rings does either have as a starter of their team? As I said, I get that it's nice to have. It's fun to watch. There are still more important skills for a QB to have. Sadly Bishop would of probably outplayed most of the guys we had on the field over the last several years. He definitely was better then battered up Buck, Brink, Goltz and Mr Lightning Boltus. Man we really have gone through some hard times when you Bishop no longer is among the worst 5 qbs you've had in the last 10 years....

I'm having a hard time following your point. They traded for Brohm. So? They signed Marve too. There's obviously interest in both of them. And now you seem to be backing off your solid stance a bit. You're opening up to the possibility. That's good. But I'm just having a hard time seeing where you really stand. At this point in time (which is day 2) Brohm is fighting for #2 while Marve is fighting to climb to #3. Until they actually play in game (pre season or maybe even reg season) you can't suggest that right now Marve is battling to over take Hall. Make sense? I sure hope to hell Marve has zero problems with his injuries and he becomes the 2nd coming of Ricky Ray / Doug Flutie but you gotta keep it real... it's day two of practice. Have to lower those expectations of him. Also it's hard to take what any fans says as the truth... on here some people said Willy was garbage , on the other place Willy looked outstanding. Only the coaching staff will really know. Even during pre season it's hard to judge the guys because it really depends on who they are playing against in pre season.

I think it's hilarious that Unknown gets worked up over me poking fun and stirring the pot, if the name is such a bad thing it will get changed. What more can be said? I mostly single you out as my past experiences with some local wrestlers is that many of them are massively insecure and overly drama queens. It's all in good fun man! I had a lotta fun at some old Ringmasters shows, not sure if you were a part of them but I thoroughly enjoyed watching some of the wrestlers get upset because the ladies in the crowd made fun of them.

When was the last time Marve played? He's coming off big injury and off field issues. The team traded for Brohm and they hired Danny McManus to scout for the team and you don't think he may have had a word about the guy since he saw him in Hamilton? I take much more weight in that then a fan seeing a guy throw the ball hard a few times in practice lol. Marve can make 3rd string but for now he is 4th on the depth chart and that won't change until pre season games are played.

Devils is offensive to religious people (catholic folks in particular) which make up a massive amount of the population. I know cuz I married one lol, at her church they really dislike halloween or anything related to the devil. So it is much worse then redskin. You don't think that a lot of scouts and NFL resources who look highly on a player doesn't mean anything?I know some guys slip through the cracks but for the most part anyone with talent is on the NFL radar, cfl radar or even arena football radar. Ricky Williams, David Boston, Bethel Johnson, Limas Sweed, J.T. O'Sullivan, Aaron Maybin and hundreds of others say otherwise. So guys pass there expiry date and or with mental issues? I understand certain positions or players who are undersized thrive in the cfl. But for qb its not all that different. Can you name any qbs who had zero NFL interest walk in and claim the back up position over other guys with cfl experience? Most of those kind of guys sit on the bench for a year or two before seeing the field.

Some religious types were upset at the time. They were unaware that the New Jersey Devil is a real thing (in a manner of speaking) just like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster. I think the problem with Hackney was that he was super slow moving, the arm was a rocket but he made Calvillo look like a cheetah out there.

If Hall can get some sort of protection he might really surprise folks. It will also help having an elite receiver this season.

You would have to change dozens of names before that one.

This is based on one practice. How many times we see a guy look solid in practice only to stink in game time. They have a lot more time looking at Brohm and if they didn't like him they wouldn't of traded for him. Marve only makes third string if he plays fantastic in the pre season games and Brohm shits the bed. No way Hall loses backup to Marve unless he gets hurt. The team isn't going to go with zero experience at back up. I'm willing to put money on that. Marve is the project guy who will only see the field in the reg season if we get injuries or we are killing a team or being hammered.

NFL pedigree does mean something, with Brohm he was projected to be a first round pick went back to school for his senior year and ended up falling to 2nd round which is still very impressive. Marve lost his job and moved schools and was never on the NFL radar. Brohm was in Green Bay behind Rodgers which pretty much would be impossible to overtake and ended up starting a few games with the Bills. The blue traded for him and clearly McManus thinks the guy has something. His credentials are much better , he is much more experienced in pro ball and he has had zero personality or off field problems. It'll be very hard for Marve to overcome that.

Disagree with this. Maybe it was only one practice but this guy has all the tools. I'm in love. Brohm was easily the weakest of the QBs and while I like what Hall brings to the table, he is what he is. Marve has zip on his throws and one particular example I have is on one play, he showed great mobility on a roll out to his right while being chased by a lineman and while on the run fired a bullet to Donovan Kemp. Perfect throw and a good example of what he can do. It's early, but I think he easily gets the project 3rd QB job on this squad. Also ran into Gary Etcheverry in the parking lot and he smiled at me. This turned my impression of him around immediately. He will be the greatest coordinator this team has ever seen. Lol I hope this is a joke? Also Willy is a lock at #1, Hall pretty much a lock at #2..... The team traded for Brohm , McManus I assume likes the guy since he knows the most about him.... the dude has started in the NFL.... was fairly touted in his college career..... Marve would have to be perfect in pre season while Brohm completely shits the bed for him to take his spot. Just because a guy can zip the ball in practice doesn't really mean anything yet. I am pleased though that they brought in a guy who can throw the ball instead of bringing in guys with Dinwiddie floater arms...

It will be very difficult to believe Marve can overtake any of the other guys. Hall and Brohms NFL experience will be tough to surpass.
