  1. They didn't get the Evil Empire nickname for nothing, they just haven't really been living up to it before this season.
  2. If our offense is as bad as it was last week, it won't matter if Ottawa's back-ups score 10 points or 100. After that piss poor showing, the Bombers better be coming out swinging, regardless of who's on the field across from them.
  3. Not that their offense was anything spectacular last week but this should help us right the ship before playoffs.
  4. I've also got one of "those" guys behind me in 210. I think I've seen @do or die in 211 a couple times this year so maybe your problem is gin related?
  5. There's a maximum of 17 padded practices allowed during the regular season. Given that we're in week 20, chances are that we've used up those 17 or have maybe 1 left? https://press.cfl.ca/new-canadian-football-league-player-health-and-safety-measures-for-2016-season
  6. "The mere fact that he flew from his family home in Florida to Edmonton at Nicholle’s urging was impressive enough."
  7. Yep. Forgot that 3 way ties are broken differently. Montreal owns the tie breaker over both other teams individually but their head to head record is the 1st tie breaker if all 3 teams are tied. Sask is 1-3 while Toronto is 2-2. Probably irrelevant though. The chances of both Toronto and Saskatchewan winning are pretty slim.
  8. What Montreal does is irrelevant, they can't finish lower than Toronto or Saskatchewan because of the tie breakers. The only way we end up with the 2nd pick is if the Riders lose and the Argos win.
  9. Let's do it . Going with Harris for the win!
  10. Interesting suggestion... would increase the odds of us wanting the same player though. I'm pretty sure I would hold the tie breaker (# of different players picked throughout the contest) so I'm ok with that!
  11. Damn Bowman, I was 34 seconds from victory! Now who to pick this week...
  12. Given the learning curve Osh was going to have as a rookie HC, I'm not going to fully count his 1st two seasons against him. I've seen enough progression from him since his 1st year that I'm on-board with a 3 year deal. The team is heading in the right direction & players are choosing to come here when they have other options (see Gurley) so let's keep that going! Based on the same reasoning, we should do the same with Walters... question is how long? 3-4 is perfectly fine with me. 5 years might be a bit much but then again he could have bailed on us for the AD job at Guelph but he was committed to this team. We could do the same for him.

High ranking people for sure, and the debt was a massive factor (Goldman-Sachs actually received a warning from the feds about the debt deal it arranged for this sale) but most of their jobs were redundant now. Wright was brought on-board to help break into Ontario (and other Canadian markets to a lesser extent) but his main mission was accomplished. Most of his job could now be done by someone else from a central location. The need for boots on the ground, so to speak, was finished. Zelaznik & Berger had similar roles in Asia & Europe and met the same fate. Given that WME IMG has their hands in pretty much every type of media, they probably already have people like Maloney, Muncey & Pollack on staff. Cook is really the only guy I'm suprised by. There were other moves related to this that happened in the last couple weeks (the Brazillian boss left as did Dave Sholler, their long time PR exec) so either the writing was on the wall or they had been informing staff that there was going to be layoffs.

Yep, the Canadian staff was just one part of the axe cutting. The new bosses are saying that the cuts only affect 15% of their total staff. Most of the people fired were execs (like Wright) who were in charge of getting getting legislation passed. Since that has been accomplished, there really wasn't much of a need for those high payed guys.
  15. The next *****-fest will be that they don't get immediate refunds, they have to wait until game day & go to the ticket office at IGF.

Money is definitely the hold up. GSP signed his contract prior to the Reebok deal so they have to sort that out because he made a ton on sponsorship that he would now lose out on. Both sides have a legal leg to stand on so a court case could go either way. GSP can say they can't enforce a unilateral change to a contract without his agreement but standard UFC contracts (even ones prior to Reebok) say that a fighter can't wear clothing that conflicts with a UFC sponsor. There's a great blog from a lawyer in BC who translates legalese to normal english when it comes to combat sports. Worth a read if you're interested in that kind of thing. https://combatsportslaw.com/2016/10/18/lets-speculate-about-gsps-ufc-contract-dispute/
  17. Sellers had zero locker room issues, it was all off-field . He had a DUI in 2000 & then on 2001 he got busted (with another Clevand player) for coke during a traffic stop. The drug charges got dropped but he had to prove he could stay out of trouble so he came back to the CFL.
  18. Looking at the list, it's a good mix of older & newer players so I have no problems with how they've selected them. With so many great players to choose from, somebody was going to get left out. Jacobs is going to be up there for sure, it's just a matter of when.
  19. I'd have to think that with number like this, he has to be a lock for our ROTY nominee. Fogg had an early lead and definitely still deserves to be mentioned, but I can't imagine Loffler not getting the nod.

There's a reason why UFC contracts specifically stated that all contract disputes must be settled in Nevada court rooms, and it's not simply because it's convenient for the UFC. Rampage Jackson tried the same thing with Bellator. He was able to fight once for the UFC before the lawsuits were settled but ended up back with bellator. The UFC is already disputing his claim and GSP himself admits they offered him a fight with Robbie Lawler. http://www.tsn.ca/st-pierre-announces-he-is-a-free-agent-1.586969
  21. That's probably not what you had planned this year either!

LOL! GSP can say whatever he wants but if he tries to sign somewhere else, the UFC will say see you in court (and that court would be in Nevada where the UFC has considerable sway). Unless they can reach a new deal, he's pretty well stuck. Any legal action would bleed him dry well before it does the UFC any damage.
