My personal tie-in: I was too young to really remember Live Aid but in 2005 I drove down to Barrie Ontario to go the the Live 8 concert (20th anniversary of Live Aid). I don't think it ended up being nearly as huge as the original (the London Bombings happened the next day so that took away most of the media coverage) but there was still some cool stuff to see live (or on screen via satelite) in that atmosphere. Easily the most memorable concert I've ever been to.

Some of them (Bryant and Yoshi) already did. Still waiting on the Canadian guys though.

Pretty sure the intent is not to be competition for WWE, but to be more of an alternative. If this makes sense for them as individuals, then how is it dumb? For guys like the Bucks, with young families at home, if they can make the same (or more) money without all the crazy travel, the dumb decision would be not doing it. When you consider how much BC merch they sold without making a dime... that's a pretty good incentive to try to get some of that for themselves. Besides, they have a big financial backer so the risk for them is probably fairly limited. They can always go back to ROH/NJPW if it doesn't pan out.

Yes. He only played his senior year with Oregon.

I would think it's because you're talking about 1 restaurant vs a popular small chain with multiple locations.

It's something the league decided to do earlier this year. https://www.cfl.ca/2018/02/20/cfl-reveals-list-10-negotiation-list-players-team/

Good to know. I was fairly surprised when someone posted this on my FB page.

Also in completely unrelated news, the Riders have announced they have hired 37 new "Doctors" & "Athletic Therapists" for the upcoming season. -
That jacket doesn't cut it for me as a Star Wars nerd... now if it were a replica of Han's jacket instead of some random film crew, that would be a different story! 😀

I hope I win the lottery one day but I'm not suggesting that I will. I feel better about my chances when I actually buy a ticket. I hope Bighill stays but I'm not suggesting he will. I feel better about the chances of him staying when I hear him mentioned in a conversation about players who want to be here. Hoping something happens and suggesting it will happen are two completely different things.
-
Who suggested anything? I just said I'm feeling better about our chances. No more, no less. It's little things like these tweets that are giving me more hope but it doesn't diminish the very real possibility he's going back to BC.

I just checked Dave Naylor's twitter feed... no sign of Bighill at at Canucks game with Hervey so I think we're good.

Might be wishful thinking but I'm feeling the same way.

I love Baraka but don't get there nearly as much as I want to!

The only judge who got it right is from Winnipeg!

Was the Green Bastard one of the workers in the car with you? 🤣

That was my 1st thought... why spend the time/money on a show they are presumably losing next year?
-
When you consider that visible minorities make up less than 20% of Canada's population, it's not a surprise that the majority of players are white. But why dont you go tell Chungh, Harris, Demski and all the other non-white Canadians, on our team alone, that they need to embrace the game more 🙄

CASC is about a week late on this...

I only hate 2 teams... the riders and whoever the Bombers are playing next.

A stiff breeze might have been able to do the job, based on the way he was walking around the past couple days. Was a very sad thing to watch... I hope he got paid well!

And in true CFL fashion, they will wear double blue and be referred to as the Boatmen.
