Hey the loading bay at the place next to my work was filled with water. Maybe we work beside each other. Next time we get into a debate maybe we can settle it with a ladder match out in the parking lot.

In limited reps I thought Veltung looked like a smooth route runner and he seems to have good hands as well. Kinda seems like a more shifty version of Denmark. But I wouldn't expect him to see 10 targets like Moore usually does. I expect that Denmark and Kohlert will be pretty busy on Thursday night. Either way I like the look of this receiving corps a lot better than what we had last year with Moore out.

I think it's a given that his mobility is going to be limited in this game. He's tough but he's still human. Just hoping he has the sense to toss the ball away if he has to.

Looks like probably Greaves and Bastien sit. Veltung starts for Moore. Vernon Kearney makes his season debut.

My point is that Marve hasn't really had a chance to go in. Brohm has played parts of two games this season. Marve was hurt for one of them. Maybe you could make an argument that Marve should have gone in eventually against Hamilton but is it that unreasonable that a coach would stick with his backup QB for one game? I think if Brohm starts this week and looks horrible, then it's time to put in Marve. And I bet that's what we'll see unfortunately.

I don't get what everyone is freaking out about. Do people think that Marve isn't actually injured? And that's not the real reason he didn't play? Come on. Marve himself says this was the case, that he only dressed in an "emergency" role. As bad as Brohm was, that's not what they mean by emergency... Marve was only there in case Willy and Brohm both got injured. Now he is back to 100% so we'll see what happens. Impossible to say they will never have the fan support. It takes time to build up a fanbase. Look at Tampa Bay, LA, San Jose, Nashville. Put a good team on the ice and the fans will come. In Canada you have three or more generations of hockey fans to draw from. It takes time to build up that kind of support. Frankly I think all the bitching that Canadian hockey fans do about southern expansion is a little embarrassing.

Lol the fact that you guys had to go to Bowman to find someone who rivals Lamoriello's level of success should really say it all. Not many guys out there with a track record like that.

The Devils went to the Cup finals in 2012. Really not that long ago. Under Lamoriello, they won the Cup three times and went to the finals five times. But ya, he turned 70 and forgot everything he ever knew about hockey. Jeez. No other modern GM has enjoyed that level of success over such a long period of time.
