I'm willing to place a wager that he won't post those numbers this season no matter who his qb is.
-
Lol, that was a strong response. It's easy for them to sound smart because they employ fact checkers. There aren't very many instances where they've gotten their facts wrong when skewering a politician.
-
Apparently Smith kicked ass at his pro day and from what I read could possibly be drafted now.

Who's knows anything about Revenberg? I just learned he existed approx. 2 hrs ago. edit (from TSN): Brandon Revenberg (OL, Grand Valley State): Hailing from the same Lakers program that produced perennial CFL All-Star Josh Bourke, Revenberg is a two-time Great Lakes Conference all-star and a three-year starter. As an NCAA Division 2 player, he hasn't received the attention of some other offensive linemen leading up to the draft but he could easily emerge as one of the sleepers in the Class of 2016.

Whining and complaining.

I saw a John Oliver bit where they had engineers cost out the wall based the length, height, materials, etc. that Trump noted, as well as other required infrastructure, and the cost would come in around $25 billion.
-
I agree with you that your analogies were terrible. You feel sorry for guys who regret their personal decisions and I don't. Agree to disagree.
-
The obvious reason is the health risk. It's hard to argue that getting punched in the head isn't a concussion risk. My belief is that these guys know the risk and accept it, but the league has to be concerned about the lawsuits that are starting to come in.
-
Fighting worked as a deterrent until they took the instigator out. Nowadays, if you dish out a beating for a dirty play you're going to miss almost an entire period. There's a 0% chance they'll ever take the instigator penalty back out of the game. There's an extra penalty now too for beating on a guy who isn't fighting back. Nurse got suspended for it a few weeks ago when he jumped Polak.
-
So what? That's his problem, not the game's. It's a life lesson to work harder in school so you don't have to take a job getting punched in the head.
-
Fighting is disappearing without having to legislate it out. NHL player safety isn't perfect by any means, but stiffer penalties for cheap/dirty plays are finally starting to clean up the game. The game is getting faster and the one dimensional fighter can't keep up anymore. I like to watch a good fight. I think planned fights between two guys who can barely skate are nonsense, but fights that happen naturally between two guys in the heat of the moment are entertaining and not a detriment to the game. These are grown men making a conscious decision to fight. If they're fine with it, so am I. They know the risks. I think fighting needs to be taken out of junior hockey though. Any league with players under 18 shouldn't allow it. Fights will probably happen regardless of the rules put in place, but the penalties should be stiffened to make it a less desirable decision to make.
-
I find it disingenuous for guys who made a good living fighting to complain about it now. If you didn't want to fight, quit. Do something else for a living that is less dangerous. None of them were owed a career in hockey, especially when most of the guys complaining weren't good enough to play if they didn't fight.

Other than possibly his immediate family, there's no bigger fan of Stu than this guy. I just think he's better suited to controlling the game from the blueline.
-
You don't think Lapo is all that adaptable, so your solution is to make him adapt to players he didn't choose for his offense?
-
That's crazy to think a coach would want a say in the players he's going to coach.
-
The NMC is with the franchise, not the city.
-
This will never be a thing. It's much more likely that either teams are forced to protect guys with NMCs, or they'll rule it doesn't apply to expansion drafts. IMO there's a 0% chance these guys will just be exempted from the draft.
-
Why would an expansion team move Stuart to forward? Based on our roster now, if we could only protect 3 dmen we'd probably lose Enstrom. That's a pretty solid player for them.
-
3 of 4 spots on the DL look pretty solid to me.
-
I agree with all of this. There are two things about Enstrom that stick out like a sore thumb; he makes a lot of money and he doesn't shoot enough. Those are two major issues for a casual hockey fan. He's certainly not a perfect player, but he does a lot of the little things well. I will fully admit though that he drives me crazy when he passes on good shot opportunities.
-
I don't know about everything, but I think our team looks pretty good personnel-wise right now.
-
Can the expansion team take players who aren't in the NHL? I find it hard to believe the other GMs would allow prospects to be up for grabs. Also, what happens to guys with no movement clauses? Is their team forced to protect them?

Game 69 : Jets @ Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk

Melchiori's game was fine, with that one exception. I think his ceiling is a solid AHLer with brief stints in the NHL. -
The guy who runs that twitter account is a Riders fan and a regular on their fan site. His seat is near the front on the Chris Jones bandwagon.
