  1. I like that he's letting his offensive coaches pick the qb. My problem with what's happened is that he's basically come right out and said he disagrees with them. You need to give the impression that all coaches are on the same page. I wonder how Hall feels about knowing his HC doesn't want him to play?
  2. Burke liking Pierce compared to what we had at qb is very different from liking him over Kevin Glenn.
  3. So you're suggesting Lawless is outright lying? I don't like the guy either, but he's been pretty accurate with his info lately. He said it was a fact, not just a rumour he heard.
  4. Except when he said Pierce probably wouldn't be on the team if he wasn't such a nice guy.
  5. Assuming this story is true it appears that, no, he really didn't love Buck as much as some believe. On your other point, I agree it was a mistake to not make the deal.
  6. Interesting little nugget from Lawless just now. Burke didn't want to keep Pierce this offseason, he wanted Glenn. There was an offer on the table from the Stamps that was Glenn for our 2nd rounder. Burke wanted Mack to do it, but he wouldn't b/c he thought Pierce was the better qb.
  7. I get where he's coming from. As I said in another thread, he's made it very clear he's not in charge of the offense so he'll the let the guys that are decide who runs it.
  8. Crowton's clearly in charge of the offense, so it makes sense to me that he would pick the guy who has to run it.
  9. Good call. Of all the things to worry about, this has to be at the bottom.
  10. I think Miller is promoting this insanity as a ruse to make the Ticats overconfident.
  11. Not terribly surprising, but Goltz is upset. Russ Hobson ‏@russ_sportsguy 5m Justin Goltz says he feels betrayed and team has mismanaged QB position. #Bombers
  12. Miller seemed to me to say that on-field decisions aren't his job (his comment about not watching film for example). My guess is that Burke is letting Crowton play the qb he wants. He's said he's not involved with the offense, so he's going to let the guy who is pick his qb.
  13. I've heard that before too. It may have been on here, I can't remember. On the pregame show for our last game Dunnigan said that Hall was the guy the Bomber coaches thought was the future and he expected to see him before the season was over.
  14. per Madani on twitter. https://twitter.com/ArashMadani
  15. The cost of a qb trade & an OL or two in FA would have made us a much better team. That's all I think we needed to be a competitive team.
  16. It would to a degree. As it stands right now though I agree with Iso's post. He didn't do enough to make the team competitive while we waited for these young guys to emerge.
  17. To answer the OP, my attitude has changed a couple of times over the past 5 years. In 2009 I had some doubts as to whether or not I wanted to keep my season tickets, as I was having zero fun at the games. 2010 & 2011 made me love it again, but the last two years have again chipped away at my willingness to pay for watch something that only makes me angry. I'm coming periously close to no renewing, as my tipping point might be my chance to get in on Jets season tickets for this coming season. It sucks when you actually feel like it's a hassle to be bothered going to games.
  18. I'll bite. What did a Bomber player say to his roofing company after the LDC?
  19. Our NI receiving depth now compared to the end of 2009 is night & day. We have 4 guys now who would have been the best NI receiver on that 2009 team. Elsewhere the improvement is marginal. We have two prospects on the OL that I have high hopes for, but they need to show something before I can consider them much of an upgrade. I'm also slightly concerned that Swiston hasn't been able to take the RG job from Morley yet.
  20. Dunigan's argument was Pierce should have been replaced in the offseason, not now. I 100% agree with that. The part about Goltz was way off though. Mack's failings have to include an OL that is below average or worse at 4 out of 5 spots. Shannon Boatmen being the best import RT he can come up with after 4 years is a huge failing.
  21. Seeing as how this is a GM thread, I figured I'd put it here. Lawless (I know...) said on H&L the other day he's heard from other league sources that Walters & Mack strongly disagreed on our 1st pick this year. Apparently Walters wanted Edem.
  22. Who took a step back under him? January's become an allstar under him & Morley's the only other guy who was here when he arrived. He also turned a DT into a serviceable LG.
  23. I assume Mack. That's who I'll pick as well b/c it will be hard to replace him after we win the Grey Cup this season...
