  1. Like how you told the truth about how Wally was using Joey Elliott? Given that he's brought in Pierce to be experience doesn't that lend some credibility to my thoughts on the matter? Doesn't that fact that he held on by a thread as the third stringer for less than half a season tell you what he thought of him? Wally want's pierce and doesn't want Elliott, doesn't that tell you something about Elliott? or more importantly the accuracy of your assesment of him? I'm asking both of you, as politely as possible, to stfu about Elliott.
  2. Did anyone else who listened to the coaches show notice that Tim Burke really emphasized that Parenteau can play centre? It makes me wonder if they are considering moving Sorensen out to guard or tackle. No, I don't think Sorensen is losing his job. Parenteau being able to play centre means we don't have to dress Kowalczuk anymore. Pencer can play instead. I don't know if I would call it "losing his job". More like getting moved over to strengthen the right side of the line. Sorensen has tackle experience. Would be interesting to see something like January-Greaves-Parenteau-Kowalczuk-Sorensen, with Pencer as the sixth man. Not saying it's going to happen, but the way Tim Burke was talking it sure sounds like there is going to be a bit of a shuffle going on the OL. There is virtually no chance that Sorensen plays RT for us.
  3. If that was true he wouldn't have just signed Kyle Koch to replace him. He proved he's not a centre in Sask, but he's a serviceable guard.
  4. I don't think so, but it will be close. You're right that their schedule at the start of the season was much easier than it will be for the rest of the year.
  5. Sheets put up close to 1,300 yards last year, and will improve greatly on that this year. So yes, he's the real deal.
  6. He certainly wasn't the unanimous choice to be the #1 pick, but "off the board" is probably overstated. Regardless, the correct decision was made.

  8. I've read that Taman goes out of his way to avoid his clients as well. I think that as long as he doesn't get an NFL shot he'll be back with the Bombers. He's our guy so I think our GM will be more willing to put up with the agent.
  9. Not sure if that would be a concern for me as long as we are addressing the need by way of the draft, free agency or what have you. Rome wasn't built in a day, our o-line won't be revamped in an off-season. Look at it this way. If Parenteau is still on our roster (top 6) next season, that basically means none of our OL prospects panned out. Why couldn't Greaves, Swiston, & Pencer all be on the roster at the same time as Parenteau?
  10. So bad it was good was my feeling about it. The guy on the fiddle trying to sing "Achy Breaky Heart" while his finger was in his mouth was another a highlight of the performance.
  11. You're trying too hard.
  12. Who else loved the tuba solo during their cover of Fred Penners' "Sandwiches"? Best halftime show ever?
  13. That, of course, makes the assumption that he'll be the 3rd stringer in BC for the rest of the season. The logical conclusion to be drawn from this trade is that he'll be the #2 qb once he's up to speed with the playbook.
  14. The secondary was okay because Durant was under so much pressure. I can't honestly think of a single play Suber made today that warranted any praise. What I don't like about him is how he seems to arrive late and then pile-on head-first just to make his hair extensions flop around. He might think it looks cool but I think it looks ridiculous. He had a diving pass knockdown in the 3rd quarter against Dressler.
  15. I liked Pierce, but he had to go. To get this much value for him is fantastic.
  16. I feel like we've been through this before. I didn't want Elliott tossed away without allowing him to compete in camp. However, based on what I saw of him I didn't think he had much more upside. Ignore the 9 game issue. I was only trying to say I think Goltz will be ahead of where Elliott was at the 9 game mark, but I apparently didn't word it very well. Our team averaged approx. 18 points/game with Elliott. He had two games that were way better than what Goltz has shown, two that were way worse, & the rest have been more or less the same. Given the obvious advantage Goltz has in his overall physical attributes, I consider him to be a better prospect.
  17. so 9 starts is enough to judge whether a guy can be a CFL qb? Get real. What's the correct number? That wasn't necessarily what I meant anyway. It was the comparison between Goltz & Elliott that I was referencing.
  18. Elliott has 6 more CFL starts than Goltz does. If Goltz is given 6 more games and hasn't progressed further than what Elliott showed us he should be gone too. To this point I think he's shown enough that he should keep getting the starts.
  19. I'm guessing he decided the CFL isn't for him and left.
  20. Not surprising. He's been around for awhile and has been given a few chances to show what he can do. Other than one fantastic catch against the Argos last season he's been pretty ordinary.
  21. Reilly needs to start doing something at the start of games. He's pumping up his stats with all these 4th quarter td's when the game's out of hand. I think he's good, and going to get better, but I think his stats make him look better than he's been so far.
  22. I looked back at 2012. Elliott won 2 games for us. 2 games. One over Hamilton and one over Montreal. Buck won 2 games (Hamilton/Toronto), Goltz won the last home game against Montreal and Brink won that fluky game over Edmonton. I honestly think the legend of Elliott as this "game winner" for us has been largely over-blown. And in terms of excitement, that excitement he provided in the LDC and the away game against Calgary last year had me bent over a toilet puking, and it wasn't because of how drunk I was (though that helped). I don't care what anyone says, a shitty defensive stand in the final 30 seconds vs. BC and an awful coaching decision vs. Saskatchewan cost Joey Elliott two wins. He did enough to win those football games. Did he win? No, but he had the lead with less than a minute to go in both of those games and even that is a lot more than anyone on our roster can say currently. 340 yards of offense & 20 points allowed. Our defense was the reason we were still in the BC game at the end. Elliott shouldn't get the "almost" win for having a below average game with more int's that td's and below 50% passing.
  23. You're going to have to explain. I don't see how this makes any sense.
