I'll give this a go. I name Walters my GM. I don't know a lot about the guys who are out there, but nobody really grabs my interest to make me say it has to be them, so I go with the guy I know. I keep Moll as my dpp and hire Worman as a consultant or whatever creative title you can come up with. I'd interview O'Shea, Chris Jones, Chapdelaine, & Dickenson. I don't think Dickenson will leave Alberta, so he's out. I really don't know enough about the rest to give much of a researched answer, but I've read that Jones has good personnel contacts and success seems to follow him around. I also think he'd run a pretty tight ship so he'd be my pick. Collaros is my top target at qb. I don't know what it would take, but I'd pay a pretty steep price for him. Maybe a 3rd rounder to speak to him, & it turns into our 1st rounder if we can sign him long term. I like Burris too, but Hamilton would have to be stupid to not protect him, even with his pending FA status. Failing either of those options, I'd take my chances in FA to get Willy. I protect: qb: Collaros NI: Watson, Greaves, Pencer, Muamba, Neufeld, & Swiston import: January, Denmark, Jones, Anderson, Turner, Wild, Sears, Washington, Parker, Dunn I think Ottawa takes Poblah. My next picks are: Thomas, Volny, Kohlert, Muamba, Fitzgerald, & Sorenson. I think they take Stephan, unless they grab a FA like Etienne to get his neg rights. I'll finish my post tomorrow. He's a pending free agent. I agree Calgary would not trade him but would they be able to resign him? IMO if he stays in Calgary it's b/c he's willing to take less money to be there. I have to believe both us & Edm. will be throwing big money around in FA for OL.

Willy and Demarco are free agents, Burris is a free agent and I would imagine Hamilton will use that to protect Dan LF, Bo Levi will be protected by Calgary and I'm pretty sure Nichols is also a FA Are you sure on Demarco? I thought he wasn't. Of all the years to desperately need a qb, we couldn't have asked for a better offseason for choices.

Burke said that Bomber management has identified 3 non-import OLs that they will be targeting this offseason, via trade or free agency. He said one of them has been out all season with a concussion. I'm pretty sure he said is there are 3 NI OL who will be FA's this offseason, plus others who they will pursue through trades. That difference in wording is why I'm pretty certain Mike is right about Tsoumpas being the guy with a concussion that Burke was referring to. He referred to a guy who was out all year with a concussion while he was talking about potential FA's.

I'm suprised to hear that, b/c he seems like a bit of a goof just to hear him talk when he calls in to this show. Burke toeing the line on tampering by mentioning they'll be going after the 3 NI OL who might be FA's this offseason.

They made a bunch of players moves and brought in a new OC. How much more can you do in-season?

I like the idea, they were just overdoing it. There are a few teams in the NFL that do it as well.

Pierce was starting qb in a Grey Cup year, so he's out. Otherwise, for expectations vs performance Austin would be the right choice for the worst of that category.

I didn't mind the bells, although the could have used it a little more sparingly. What was way worse than that was TJ Conners' commentary between plays.

Depends what argument you're making. He was terrible here. That's pretty hard to argue. Whether or not he's a terrible qb is a different conversation. The best Stones song is "Gimme Shelter", & it's not close.

I don't think there's any question Montreal protects him. Ottawa would never take Calvillo in the draft.

Michna doesn't belong on a list of our worst qbs. He wasn't great by any means, but he wasn't terrible. Certainly better than Boltus looked.

On a "I don't really want to watch anymore" scale, this was tied with '09 for me, possibly a little worse. I guess it could really go either way, both seasons made me want to cut myself. Based on how bad the team was, the only comparison in my time is '98. Oddly enough, I first got season tickets for the '99 season. I guess I thought it couldn't get any worse and convinced myself to buy in.

This is basically how I feel too. He seemed, or maybe still seems, like a good hire, but some things are worrying me a little. The biggest concern is his statement that he'll be involved in football ops. Having a major contradiction in your purpose only a month or two into your tenure is cause for concern. The "appearance of conflict of interest" is strong here, but from what I've heard both Elite & Worman are good at what they do. If I've learned anything as a Bomber fan in my lifetime, it's that everything will work out for the best...

Does Norwood really merit a mention as a worthy find? He absolutely found some good talent while he was here, but his inability to plug holes on the OL & find/trade for a quality qb will define his legacy in Winnipeg.

That argument seems better suited to show the bipolar nature of posters on a fan forum.

Please name one player who has improved under Burke's watch. Max Hall, Will Ford, Rory Kohlert (sorry, that's 3) That's all I can think of.

Saw a tweet from Penton that he thinks Walters will be the next GM b/c no other viable candidates will be interested. He said they're all worried that Miller will meddle.

I have a hard time following the logic of allowing Walters to hire a coach if he's not the GM in waiting. It would be beyond stupid to have anybody but the new GM do it. I'm ok with Walters if that's who they ultimately decide on, but I really hope they are being truthful about doing a full search before giving it him.
