I wouldn't expect to find any accurate or relevant scouting reports, this guy is 27 years old and hasn't played meaningful football in almost 7 years. I'm not even 100% convinced that he's signed a contract. Sounds more like he was invited to another free agent camp or to the mini-camp down south. I'm surprised the media isn't complaining yet about the mini-camp being held in the States...Edmonton sure got raked over the coals for doing that last year. Wasn't the biggest issue with what Edmonton did that they didn't even tell the media about it until it was already over?

Just curious ... who did you have in mind? I didn't have anyone in particular in mind. I just assume there will be a CFL learning curve for Dahlquist and I wonder if a guy, who would be the players great grandfathers age, will be able to connect with our young QB's. Somebody needs to check the math on this one...

Agreed. Seems to me he defended some guy accused of being a racist, and in turn was called a racist himself...? It's a riveting tale filled with many twists and turns. That and he doesn't control what other people say to him. That sounds like a pretty standard twitter exchange.

Have to admit I did. I just really didn't see a role with the team next year where his paycheque would be warranted. I did too. He's been surpassed by younger guys (Moore & Denmark). Great guy, great player, & he represented the Bombers well throughout his career with us.

It doesn't seem to be in the online version of the Free Press, but Wiecek had a beauty this morning. Of course the Bombers were losers in FA, but his best comment was saved for the Ticats...slightly paraphrased as I'm going from memory, "we haven't seen that many FAs signed by one team since 2013 when the Riders did it."

Penton said we offered Butler the most money, he just didn't want to come here. As for Bell, I really don't see the need after getting Banks & Randle. I gave a C+ as well, but Laurent & Matthews would turn that into an A+. Unfortunately, I don't see us getting Laurent.

What an odd start to that franchises history. First they insist on being called the REDBLACKS. Then they hire a knob for a GM and screw over the best QB in Ottawa since Damon Allen to spend half a million on a worse 39 year old QB. Now they start their first season with a bye week. I have to think that's to buy (no pun intended) more time to get the stadium ready.

If we manage to make the playoffs, that bye at the end of the season might work out well.

There seems to be universal agreement around the league that we paid too much for Moore. I read in the Vancouver Province this morning that he's getting $185k/yr plus the use of a car.

I like this idea. What we need to do is put him exclusively at that spot so he can really concentrate on it. That should help his snaps, b/c they were brutal each of the last two TCs when they tried him there. IMO if we could turn Sorensen into a centre we can do it with Morley.

Agreed. Nick Moore was a big name & will help our team, but import receiver may not have been our most pressing need. I am happy to have him though. Same with Randle.

After reading through this thread, all signs point to that comment being comically uninformed rather than an attempt to ruffle feathers.

I'll be pretty disappointed if we keep Edwards over Denmark. I'm not sure that we keep both.

This guy is kind of a joke. Guaranteed he took that straight from Wiecek's tweet and passed it along like he had something insider on it.

Apparently Bryant Turner is also in some trouble over tweets he made on the same subject. Tweets have since been deleted. I wonder what he said?
