It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...

...that's why a part of me wants them to win the week before....just to get it outta the way... That's exactly what I want. I don't want us to be their first win. -
I was very surprised at how well May did at the debate. I thought she was very articulate and had her facts down pretty tight. Trudeau also did better than I expected. He was a little too argumentative with Harper, but otherwise I thought he did well. His closing remarks were a little much, but certainly not as bad as TUP tries to make it sound. Mulcair had the best line of the debate with his shot at Harper about having to ask "which one?" when talking about recessions under his watch. Getting Harper to admit he basically tells Conservative senators what to do was also a point in his favour. His fake smile for most of the debate was pretty weird though. He also sounded a little too rehearsed at times. Trudeau got him pretty good regarding his pandering to separatists. Harper got smacked around a little at times, but certainly nothing that could be considered election changing. I thought he looked a little more animated than he has in previous elections. He engaged with the other leaders more, rather than like last time where he never took his eyes of the camera.

I guess you don't want to vote for anyone then. Those are dumbass commercials. And only dumbasses believe them. They make me want to vote for Trudeau just out of spite. Only dumbasses believe Justin isn't ready to be PM? Lol. I'd say you've got that backwards but I'm not here to insult people. You're insulting our intelligence by defending that ad. Only "dumbasses" believe his main priority is legalizing pot, or that his only thought on foreign policy is sending winter jackets to Syria.

Bite your tongue. Though that would guarantee another four years of a press that rolls over and lets the president stroke their belly rather than ask any hard questions or do anything to embarrass the leader. It's been 8 years now of just softball questions for the current president and its time that the press in the US got some balls again. What questions do you want asked?

Is Irvin Riding Shotgun for O'Shea?

Once somebody has asked their question or made their comment they should be cut off. IMO Knuckles take too long to cut some callers off. -
Supporting casts also played a major role. In 88-89 Lemieux put up 199 points and his linemates were Rob Brown & Bob Errey. With Lemieux Brown was a 40 goal scorer; without him he was an AHLer. By the time Lemieux had a decent supporting cast he couldn't stay healthy. Put a healthy Lemieux on those 80s Oilers teams and he'd hold all of the season scoring records. I think winning the Art Ross after missing 1/4 of a season with cancer is one of the most impressive feats in hockey history. IMO, Lemieux was the most talented player ever, but Gretzky gets the title of greatest ever due to his records and influence on the game. Like having Semenko as his linemate? Come on now let's not blow things out of proportion here. Gretzky was so far ahead of his Oiler team mates in scoring it's laughable to even think about it. He was clearly the best player on that team, I'd never argue that. Nobody can reasonably argue Gretzky didn't have much better players around him than Lemieux when they were both in their primes though. Check out this lineup from his 199 point season and tell me it's comparable to any of those Oiler teams. He led his team in scoring by 84 points.

He was also better than Gretzky at the 87 Canada Cup.

I don't think he goes this week either, but I'm ok with that. I'm excited to watch Brohm's aerial attack on the Lions.

It's better to wait a day or two for the noise to die down. Once the OMG THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!! posts fade out a rational discussion can be had about what's gone wrong. For me, I was much more upset about Stamps game than I was about last night. We had the game in Calgary and blew it. Last night is a game that's easy to forget b/c it's just one of those games where everything goes wrong. I don't think it's a reflection of how good we can be.

Their top 6 is full. I'm not sure I'd want that guy anywhere near my team. I suspect Rutherford's history with him precluded him from considering Semin. He and Therrien seem like a match made in heaven...

Other Games Thread Ott/Cal BC/TO Sask/Ham
sweep the leg replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We beat Montreal, who beat both Hamilton & Calgary. Other scores don't mean that much.Bc's secondary isn't very good, and prior to last night their run D wasn't very good either. I love the parity in the league this year. No easy wins. -
Ken Holland. Four Cups with Detroit (one as asst. GM). His team is also still pretty good with some very good young players. Ya you're right they should have hired Ken Holland. What were they thinking? Lol!! Holland hasn't run his team into the ground so he's still employed elsewhere.

http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/113295 Pretty funny mic'd up with Wylie. Near the end he yells at Adams, "Don't look back, just ******* run!"

Sweet Lou hasn't had a good draft in years and signed some terrible contracts recently. Their Cup run in 2012 was like the Oilers in 2006. Came out of nowhere and was followed by some rough years. He left the Devils pretty old and pretty bad. That's not a good combo.

I get it with the Shanahan connection, but he certainly wouldn't be my first choice to lead a team. I think his time has passed.

Bombers Practice -- Injury Updates
sweep the leg replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Pencer was crapped on immediately. I'm just pointing out the bit of hypocrisy that exists. You don't see any other differences in their situations?
