They were the cup champs in 2017.  It's 2018 now in case you hadn't noticed.  Every team has had plenty of turnover.  Like I said, the Riders had inside info and a lot of luck on their side and still barely managed to eke out a win.  I'll give props for a decent defence but that offence looks dreadful.

Hey if they wanna think they looked all world and ready to beat everyone.. let's let em keep that line of thinking going!  lol

After the Pierce/Jyles era it felt like we brought in guys who could not run,  had weak arms,  passive decision making,  relied on feathering balls into receivers arms as long as they had top protection,  easily shellshocked....   it *appears* that Streveler does not have any of those issues which is exciting.

I'm sure the guy will make lots of mistakes but if he can put the ball in the air and give the receiver the chance to fight for the ball then I'll be happy.

I just don't want to see the guy getting scared and skipping the ball and holding on to long and getting sacked....

From what it sounds like, adversity makes him thrive.. not turtle.  now that's from high school and college days but having a history of stepping up as opposed to shrinking is definitely a good sign.  very guarded optimism from me but very hopeful that he showcases himself well when the big lights are on.

  3. What in god's name leads you to believe the riders get 12 wins and we get 4?? Accidentally reverse those 2 or...

Dinwiddie completed University in 2003, was with the Bears in 04 and 05, signed with with the Bombers in 2006, then started his first start in the Grey Cup of 2007.

To me, the phrase "straight from college" doesn't take 4 years.

Wait.  Ryan Dinwiddie was with an NFL team for 2 years? Granted, it's the Bears but..  wow.  water boy I'm guessing?  maybe towel jockey?

That's true, and that's what we are all hoping, but it is not proven yet what the impact will be in that Ritchie Hall defense.

...bighill is arguably the best or second best MLB in the league and he is supplanting the worst. That fact alone makes us leagues better..  fenner as sam or db is also a positive.. Hes a proven vet..

Confused as to how you dont see this..

There is no difference, neither is in their prime.  Cheating is cheating, if you want to look at it that way.   As I said, doesn't bother me at all, steroids are as old as football.  They aren't going anywhere anytime soon

You keep calling them both steroids.  one was not a steroid.  one was an illegal weight gain supplement.  hell one I could probably buy legally.  steroids, not so much.

Or miss the point entirely. And there's no double standard. You said Simonise juiced*, which is factually incorrect. Thigpen actually did juice* (because he was taking anabolic steroids). You'd have to be pretty dumb to not see the difference. Then again, your whataboutism here clearly demonstrates your inability to understand as you attempt to deflect away from your precious team.

Brainless, blinded greenies... Always good for a chuckle.

*the term "juice" refers to taking steroids, not OTC weight gain supplements

Exactly.  they are 2 very different chests.  both are bad and both are illegal but wanting to add some bulk for A TC (and yes very likely he did quit using a weight gain after..  you know.. gaining the weight to make a roster.. )

and using anabolic steroids to recover faster, be stronger, etc etc to enhance your ability to play...

Are different. But continue to hide behind your obliviousness if it makes it easier for you to stand on that mound of quicksand.

Your first round pick was KNOWINGLY USING A BANNED substance in the NFL and was suspended?  Do you think the Bombers should have drafted him?  Being how he is a cheater and all

Oh dont be obtuse.  he did his time and sat out.. and missed his draft.  take your misguided rage elsewhere.

Bighill is a massive signing and also another example of how the culture of the club has completely changed in which elite players have zero issues signing with our club.

Clearly the belief isn't "Winnipeg is a hell hole"anymore if perennial BC lion centerpiece  willing parts ways with BC for under 200k and that's amazing.   we didnt overpay and I don't think we had to offer him the moon..
