But in this case the kid was bearing a bomber shirt/jersery and put on his green sweater as they were leaving because he was cold.
So unless someone comes up with any other evidence to the contrary, coming up with other reasons or alternative theories for him to have been treated so poorly is really deflecting from what happened.   People can be skepitical all they like but that thats on them for not taking a mother at their own word.. Sometimes its okay to trust what people are telling you. 
So drunk ******* ruined this kids experience after the game because he put on a green sweater. He was wearing a bombers jersery underneath and had been cheering for the bombers..

This made me so mad. I've got friends on social media who don't give 2 hoots about football or the Bombers who were all sharing the story today. Even though it's just a few assholes, it looks really bad on Bomber fans and Winnipeg as a whole. Glad the team jumped to do something about it right away, but the whole thing still passes me off.
I love football, and watch a bit of other sports too (less than I used to growing up), but sports fans -- especially drunken ones, and yes, more often (but not always) casual ones -- can be quite obnoxious, douchey, and cruel. They come in all ages and genders, but I inevitably end up sitting next to or in front of some of them nearly every sporting event I go to. It might be less than 1% of the crowd, but I wish it was 0.
Hope this kid ends up getting some fun experiences out of this **** show he was put through. Bullying from other kids at Age 9 is hard enough, but to have to deal with it from a number of so-called adults is despicable.
(And no, I don't think "things don't add up" with this story. Just because it was reported haphazardly with different info coming in, doesn't mean it didn't happen. In fact, that's the news these days. But when I read what happened, it sadly didn't surprise me one bit. It's not just Winnipeg or Bomber "fans", of course -- humans can just be really shitty.) 

Yup yup.  If they didn't go to the media (it was on 1290 call in show) then we wouldn't be talking about it and no one would know.   It needs to be shared across social media so they culprits are at least aware of how they affected this poor kid.   People won't change until they are confronted with the guilt and knowledge that their action crushed someone.

it's kind of odd for you to just assume it's one of the die hard fans who would do something so deplorable... in my experience (winnipeg and regina) it's the diehard fans that are the most respectful... it's the fringe fans that just go to one game (usually the banjo bowl) to get drunk and yell at opposing fans... again, very strange conclusion for you to jump to...

This is all win for Wpg as far as I see it. We solidify the qb position. We get an additional first round pick next year. We add a starting DB from the Argos to improve our secondary. Walters earned his paycheque today.

At some point the Bombers had to cut bait & go home. Willy's time was over. I had a feeling it was. The Bombers obviously don't think Willy will progress any further developmental wise from now on. They see him everyday at practice & in meetings. There must've been something there they didn't like or were concerned about. Is Willy any better than LeFevour? Did anyone ever think we'd get anywhere near what we got from the Argos for Willy? I sure didn't. We came out smelling like a rose, I believe.
