At some point the Bombers had to cut bait & go home. Willy's time was over. I had a feeling it was. The Bombers obviously don't think Willy will progress any further developmental wise from now on. They see him everyday at practice & in meetings. There must've been something there they didn't like or were concerned about. Is Willy any better than LeFevour? Did anyone ever think we'd get anywhere near what we got from the Argos for Willy? I sure didn't. We came out smelling like a rose, I believe.

Kirk Penton tweeted that Willy couldn't handle the Winnipeg media. I find that unbelievable. A guy who played NCAA FCS & has been in front of the media since high school. If he can't handle a few reporters & media personalities in Winnipeg then he has issues.

This is all win for Wpg as far as I see it. We solidify the qb position. We get an additional first round pick next year. We add a starting DB from the Argos to improve our secondary. Walters earned his paycheque today.

I think in a way this move is good for O'Shea as a coach, he got rid of a boat anchor tied around his neck and he should now know not to carry a trumpet into the next press conference announcing the next saviour has arrived.

I can't believe people are unhappy with Glenn? He's played way better then Willy has in the last two seasons.
The Als and Riders offenses were completely broken and he still managed to out up decent numbers.
With Lapolices short pass offense and the improvement of our o line he should do really well here.
Our QB depth definitely took a step forward today.

How can a veteran GM like Popp mishandle the salary cap so badly?

What gets me excited is we'll probably get the third or fourth pick in the CFL Draft next spring along with wherever we finish. That is awesome.
