  1. but you're still ignoring what I'm saying in order to keep on raging.... How do we know we don't have a better option if theynever play them? See you can't really say right now that it's cause they lost free agents and haven't been able develop people if the people you're developing don't get to play?
  2. Look if the ball is thrown and then the receive slips how the **** are you even trying to pin that on the qb? That's just a bad break for a qb. You're really on a rant and you're blowing things way out of proportion. Because he missed a throw on a crossing route? That **** happens. I'm more concerned with the drops and other plays where the receivers didn't give a young qb the help he needed. You're taking a couple missed throws and making it seem like Goltz couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, that's not the case at all.
  3. This is exactly why Hufnagel insisted that Glenn came back when he traded Burris.
  4. have you ever seen a qb in his first couple starts who wasn't a better runner than he was accurate? Outside of freaks like RIcky Ray of course. Hell Lulay when he was starting didn't do a hell of a lot other than run too. So far he's been 50-60% it seems in his career, that's not horrendous accuracy, especially when you consider some of the drops he dealt with.
  5. no what I'm saying is your post was so full of **** the only way I can accept that you actually took the time to post it was in the attempts to troll people.
  6. you obviously didn't read. I didn't say declaring Goltz the starter for the rest of the year was a smart move, I said admitting that he made a mistake hitching his wagon to Pierce was a smart move. There is a big difference. Goltz is just the next guy in line, admitting that he was wrong about Pierce though, that's a big step from a position that tends to cling to their mistakes because their ego won't let them admit they made a mistake.
  7. yet at the same time Goltz has talked about how PIerce has helped him and talked positively about Pierces being the veteran guy. The other coaches on the team have said they believe Pierce can do it. I just don't think we as fans are at all capable of judging how a current player could transition into a coaching role. I mean who the hell thought that Jarius Jackson could be a qb coach?
  8. to me it looked like a guy who tried to make a block and simply wasn't able to hold it. Matador to me implies that he just whiffed, he didn't whiff, the BC player just made him look stupid by being able to shed the block so ridiculously easily.
  9. I am actually more encouraged by Burke now than I have been at any point previous and it's for one simple reason... he has basically come out and admitted that he goofed with Buck Pierce and he seems quite willing to stick with Goltz to see if he will develop. That's a big thing in my mind. Someone who will accept when he's made a mistake and look to remedy the situation. For a guy doing the head coaching job for the first time the ability to learn and adapt is huge. It's something Mike Kelly didn't do, it's something Lapolice really didn't do. I dunno if it'll work out, but he's earned more leeway recently. I'd be shocked if there weren't some roster changes coming out of the bye week.
  10. not even a matador job, he just got straight up pwned.
  11. Honestly I'd look at Jones for GM role before HC anyway. That seems to be what he wants to do and I don't buy that he's all that as a coach.
  12. but we don't need 3 new NIs, one of the biggest issues on the line is the RT which is an american, but we haven't even thought about replacing that guy. We have a backup NI who from all accounts was neck and neck to be a starter coming out of camp, why hasn't he been put in? You see why it's nonsense? There are options to make changes there and they simply aren't taking them.
  13. they called anderson for roughing or whatever it was when he tackled Lulay high around the shoulders. Obviously the refs thought it was in the head but the replay looked like it was a good tackle.
  14. we use 2 americans on the offensive line, I don't buy that nonsense about it's because we are drafting and developing NIs. Boatmen isn't good enough, why aren't we replacing him like we would a defensive lineman who isn't producing? Swiston developed enough to start earning playing time last season, why isn't he in the games now when it's obvious that some guys there are struggling? this isn't about lack of options, it's about not actually making changes at the position for whatever reason.
  15. god I hope this is a troll post....
  16. See I don't think Pierce was benched to send a message at all, to me it was him coming to a realization that he couldn't carry on with Pierce as his starting qb and as of 2 weeks ago they were basically starting at square one offensively again since the protect Pierce package was such an epic failure. I actually think his positivity is actually an indication that maybe he does have a clue how to fix things it's just taking a while to get there. I would honestly expect to see some changes in the receiving corps next week because of how he put a lot of blame on them for the lack of offense in the 2nd half. But really once you get your head around the idea that we hit the re-set button on the offense when they made the switch to Goltz it's easier to see why the coach would look at things positively and talk about progress and being on the cusp. We as fans though don't generally care about that, we see 1-5 and the offense is still bad and want answers.
  17. I think you're over reacting to what he said. I heard it after the game too and thought to myself "wow I certainly woulda been a lot more angry than he was..." but then I stopped and thought that maybe it's for the best. He's showing patience in a young qb and trying to stay positive which is maybe what the team needs right now. Gotta trust that he knows the pulse of the team and what they need to hear at this point right? what he says immediately after the game is probably less relevant than what he'll say after watching the tape right? I woulda liked to see him be less dismissive of the offense disappearing in the 2nd half but over all I kinda liked what he said if that makes any sense at all.
  18. the same people who never liked Logan to start with. I was always a fan.
  19. and if West ends up playing that does not bode well... sure wish they woulda kept Logan around at least for competition.
  20. This is becoming a concern for me. Seems like every week other teams receivers do more to help their qbs than ours are doing. Too many passes hitting the dirt that should be caught.
  21. so much this. I want someone on there who will just go out and rip someones head off.
  22. if anything they stuck with the run too much. BC was keying in on it and then sitting back waiting for the short pass on 2nd down and then the bombers punted.
  23. you can definitely tell that the new stadium is just itching for a chance to blow up over something. It's all bubbling under the surface and as soon as there's some excitement that place is going to be crazy.
  24. you know what part of the issue is? In years past even if the team sucked you knew that you could always count on a guy like MIlt Stegall to do something to get you out of your seat. Don't have a guy like that anymore. Edwards used to be able to be a very very poor mans version but he's no spring chicken himself and not really able to be that guy anymore and none of the young guys have stepped up. Had hopes Denmark could become something but he seemed to stagnate, Matthews is have a really inconsistent year so far. Simpson can't do it all on his own when the passing game is such a let down.
  25. They make a lot of changes to players on the defense for reasons other than injury, I want to see them take the same steps on offense and just see what happens before we start firing people higher up the food chain. I'm very much against mid season firings unless they're doing serious damage to the roster long term, so in the situation we're in now let's have a look at what we really have for depth on the offensive side of the ball. Lots of the people starting there now are obviously not getting the job done, let's see what's up next. Put Swiston on the o-line, put someone else at RT, see if that changes anything. Let's get a good long look at someone like Doug Pierce without other guys being injured. They've stuck with the same under achieving bunch of offense for so long time to see if new players don't help. Once you see what you've got for players then let's make some decisions about the rest. Going with the backup qbs like they did is a great first step but there's other positions that they need to take the same approach with.
