  1. I don't think that it makes any statement on how far the scouting has come. TJH was a real good player for the bombers, but he got an attitude about having to return rather than being released so he could chase the NFL dream and it ruined his career. Not the first time a good player has been tripped up by a terrible attitude. And Carr was a good player for us as well, What this really shows is how much Mack has just gone about building up the depth on this team.
  2. I'd be tempted to do that too.... and last year without hesitation, but Denmark was pretty good last week so I am not so sure I'd do it right now. I love me some tall receivers, but Denmark has a lot of skills that could make him a really dangerous player if he rebounds from a bit of a letdown year last year.
  3. They got a ton of pressure on him last week and knocked him around and he looked overall pretty ineffective. What the bombers need to do is cut out the turnovers on offense and find some consistency there and they will be fine. QB position let them down in week one and it's pretty much as simple as that. I have no doubts based on what I've seen in the opening week that the bombers defense can keep this team in games with even a modest offensive output providing that turnovers don't become a major theme.
  4. I didn't like the way he backed out of the supposed agreement he had with the bombers, but I did always like him as a player and it's quite frankly shocking to me that he hasn't stuck in either Edmonton or Regina considering how good he was for the Bombers. No regrets at all having him replaced by Matthews who is obviously a better player but still, makes you wonder why this guy couldn't stick somewhere else.
  5. yeah the seats at mcmahon, especially the benches in the end sections are not comfortable for us tall folks. It's a stadium that is really showing it's age as well.
  6. There absolutely is a giant sense of apathy towards the stamps that seems to have been growing for the past couple years. 26000 might seem good on the surface, but it's really the fact that despite having a good team the attendance is dropping and fans seem to be quitting on the team, at least in the sense that they're not willing to go to the games as readily. Not sure what the solution is but it'd probably help to engage the community a lot more.
  7. Not going to mess with what worked last week so I'll ride the Cornish train again.
  8. it's really quite sad how the CFL is perceived. I play in a rec flag football league and just going by what people around there think it seems that the stamps and the CFL are just not in the forefront at all. All NFL fans who at best have a casual interest in the CFL and that's a damned shame. Honestly seems like the stamps kind of took support for granted... but then again southern Alberta sports fans are just the worst thing in the world as well.
  9. I did enjoy watching Ferri get absolutely obliterated by the o-lineman on that int return though, serves him right.
  10. if the esks keep looking this bad then yeah I think Kavis walks the plank. Saw a lot of undisciplined stuff from them and to me that goes back to the coach.
  11. the esks o-line was giving up so much pressure Reilly was clearly frustrated and afraid and just not able to get anything going. Feel kind of bad for edmonton fans because TIllman ****** that team like they were an asian babysitter.
  12. the kicker being hurt could be a big issue for toronto as this game goes on... or Ray could just keep putting em in the endzone but man what a wild game from a neutral point of view.
  13. was there anyone withing 30 yards of that guy? man oh man, usually defense has the advantages early in the season.
  14. based on what I've seen so far, at least the Bombers appear to have the top defense in the eastern conference... now about that offense....
  15. that argo secondary is absolutely being taken to school tonight. Not sure if rookies learning or just terrible players.
  16. both defenses look like garbage so far
  17. and then the argos special teams poop themselves and give up a return right back
  18. First FNF of the season, here's our discussion thread. So far looks like the same old Ticat defense. Ray just shredded em on the opening drive.
  19. At this point Edwards is pretty much just the veteran leadership out there and I don't have a problem with it. Matthews is clearly the #1 guy right now.
  20. The TD pass to Denmark was a pretty tough throw, gotta be in the right place cause the db was all over Denmark there. The throw to Edwards at the end on 3rd down was a pretty money throw as well, too bad the refs botched that one. I do agree with your main point though.
  21. don't forget the cane so you can wave it around as you yell at kids.
  22. because receivers aren't supposed to be running routes 5 yards out of bounds and they aren't 1 foot ball to catch balls thrown into the dirt.
  23. man oh man, it sucks to lose Gilmore, and Stephan is just made of glass. 2 years, hurt in the first game twice while only playing special teams.
  24. yeah, to me it was all about having a guy kicking around with a little bit of experience should disaster strike.
  25. hmm but is that because he's really the 3rd best or because Lulay is young and doesn't get hurt much so the Lions want a younger project taking 2nd string reps so they have a future plan for after Lulay? Where Elliott actually stands with the Lions will only be seen if something happens to Lulay this year. To me he's there as insurance in case their project guy isn't able to step in should they need to turn to #2
