  1. ahh yes the old "the guy was fired so anything bad I can automatically pin on him, FACTS DON'T LIE!" good job.
  2. well how about some context at least? Bad start in 08 for Glenn and he did improve his play later in the year, he was also coming off a MOP nomination in 2007. Pierce meanwhile was **** last year and **** this year which is pretty convincing that he's done.
  3. See now that I'd listen to cause at least there may or may not be some truth to it.
  4. and this is why you are failing to understand. The Lions never offered Reilly to WInnipeg, they offered a week or two window to negotiate with Reilly. If Reilly was legitimately interested in WInnipeg as an option why not wait until free agency? It is obvious that Reilly and Edmonton had something worked out before the Lions ever traded him. Wally being Wally tried to grift a high draft pick out of mack AND used Winnipeg to leverage something out of Edmonton. This whole situation isn't a failing on Mack, it's Wally doing what's best for Wally and suckering Hervey into his game.
  5. Because in Isos mind Reilly was the guy to fix everything and Joe Mack is the devil himself so therefore Mack just ****** up. Can't reason with people who are so commited to an idea in their head that it prevents them from seeing the truth.
  6. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that. I remember Glenn was pitiful in 2008. I just looked back at the stats from the first five games and I was right. Glenn threw 7 interceptions and 2 TD's in the first 5 games of the season that year, before Dinwiddie took over. Glenn was playing scared that year because of his broken arm, and of course he had a terrible OC. I went to a practice that year after Dinwiddie took over number one spot and I could tell Glenn just didn't care. He didn't want to be here anymore. but I don't recall Glenn every getting bogged down in the sheer number of consecutive 2 and outs that PIerce finds himself doing.
  7. We don't know the whole story & never will. Hmmm... what are the chances of a GM screwing up & making a mistake??? Overvaluing what he already has vs what he could have had if he was willing to make the move because he refuses to pay $$$ for CFL FA's.. What happened made no sense in how it went down.... I tend to think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Besides, just about everyone seemed to back Joe at the time saying Reilly was unproven & really not that good. Well, those people have their Blue Bomber qbs now. Live with it. would reilly look any better than what we have here? Would Goltz look as good as Reilly if he had been given the same rope? Would Hall? Too many unknowns right now to say that the bombers should have gifted a first round draft pick for a window to talk to a guy. If he was even remotely considering WInnipeg why wouldn't he just wait until free agency? Some of you are way way too commited to the idea that a) reilly is a saviour at qb and that winnipeg actually had much of a chance at him.
  8. No that's not the case at all. Glenn being bad was still better than Pierce this season and last as well. The biggest problem is that since 2007 the bar for what is seen as acceptable qbing has been lowered and lowered and lowered and lowered to the point where barely average is seen as good.
  9. That answer is simply laziness on the part of the HoF. Can't be bothered to check which franchises simply changed names so just go with whatever is on the cup at the time.
  10. Burke wants to win so if he plays Buck, that's why. You can thank Joe Mack for this mess. He never brought a qb in.A first rounder whomay never see the field here was too much of a price to pay to get Mike Reilly. For you Reilly haters, the guy is beginning to round into a pretty good qb for the Eskimos on a team with an OC (Samms) & HC (Reed) almost as clueless as Crowton was & Burke is. I put this garbage at the qb position right straight on Mack. The first round pick never guaranteed they would get Reilly though! Why in gods name do some of you pretend like it was as simple as trade the pick and sign Reilly? The guy was obviously more interested in going to Edmonton than anywhere else to start with.
  11. Glenn was benched for 3 games. His huge September brought his numbers way up, but he had some truly awful games in 2008. but not nearly as awful as Pierce has been lately, that's the main point to take.
  12. The simple facts are that Hall was really good in the first half of the game and not so much in the 2nd half. Which one is the real deal? If it's the guy from the first half then we got something there.
  13. people complained non stop about Kharis arm strength too so what comparison are you trying to make? I don't buy that receivers have to wait for passes because the qbs don't have the arm to get it down field, I would suggest that it's simply a missed throw. Ray doesn't have a really strong arm either but he's so accurate he can drop a ball with tremendous accuracy anywhere on the field. I actually think that Hall gets the idea of giving receivers a chance to make a play on a ball, just needs some more experience with these guys.
  14. the guy who didn't listen is also the only guy able to actually move the ball, more and more I'm thinking that Elliott was just freelancing out there which is why he was more effective and also released.
  15. why the **** is anyone even talking about O'Day? Does anyone actually expect him to A) leave the riders and actually be the most qualified person out there? Come on, seriously people. Just cause the regina media is convinced everyone with their team is the best at everything doesn't mean it's true.
  16. The history of this team tells me that they'll make Wade Miller the permanent President & Kyle Walters the permanent GM. Experience be damned. Other more qualified people will apply, especially at GM but it won't matter. I don't have an issue per se with Miller as he has a football background & knows how to run a business but I do if Walters is kept on at GM as he is a neophyte. he needs more experience before they hand the reigns over to him, I think. It'll be same old, same old. this is the exact reason I hate mid season firings so much. It's so easy to say "oh well these guys did ok when they took over might as well just let them keep at it" I don't mind keeping Miller at CEO because I think he's probably as good for the job as anyone, but for the love of god do a proper search for a new GM in the offseason and get the right person for the job and the rest will all fall into place.
  17. it's a conspiracy to think that Mack is responsible for Crowton despite everyone being involved saying that was not the case. Mack told Lapo to get an OC in that is true, everyone agrees that Lapo hired Crowton so why is it that Mack would be so attached to Crowton that he forced Burke to keep him? Some of you are so focussed on trying to pin every single thing directly to Mack it's gotten ridiculous. Mack being responsible for Crowton is so much more indirect. It stems to who he put in at head coach not Mack and Crowton being BFFs.
  18. don't feed his ego please.
  19. that was my exact reaction, we signed a guy that Hamilton didn't want in their secondary to help ours? How far have we fallen?
  20. That's the biggest thing. If Buck being the 9 year veteran that he is can't clearly play better than guys getting their first taste then he's not the starter on this team, run with the guys who still have some potential and aren't an injury waiting to happen. BC did that and never looked back, we need to make the same.
  21. I'll give Harris a shot to keep me alive.
  22. completey disagree. He was #1 because it was given to him, the other two qbs have outperformed him this year and he has done absolutely nothing to earn it.
  23. yeah and I was more pissed off than anyone when they dumped Glenn because Glenn could still play, Pierce can't play. There is no comeback story there. Best case scenario he gets his level of play back up to not as shitty as guys making their first career starts, but then you still have to deal with him being a walking injury case. Pierce is ****** in the head right now, he makes slow decisions and he is rendered completely ineffective by a blitz because of that hesitation. At least Goltz will give himself a chance by being able to move more and Hall seems to get the ball out of his hands quicker.
  24. The thing that really pisses me off is that PIerces gets credit for that win in Montreal despite doing his absolute best to lose it. All those 2 and outs in the 4th quarter.... if not for the defense damn near crippling Calvillo it would have been yet another loss. None of the other qbs have had a chance to play with that kind of defensive performance. Closest they came was in BC but even then the Lions did get some drives established.
  25. Goltz lost to Calgary and in BC, games that you could quite likely expect to lose anyway. PIerce lost to Montreal and Hamilton, 2 teams that you should beat this year, Hall lost to Hamilton. So yeah, sticking with Pierce gets a LOT of blame for the season being done. He doesn't go into crap mode in Hamilton then the team still has a chance. He doesn't toss up that many ints in the opener against Montreal they might have started the season strong and not been as down as they are. Take your lips off PIerces ass and actually look at what's happened this season, and last as well, Pierce is not the player he used to be, not even close.
