  1. decisions like taking a knee or going for it would come from the head coach unless you are running a real disfunctional team.
  2. ehh I'd rather just start tampering and let Collaros know that he doesn't have to sign anywhere for next year until he's heard the Bombers out.
  3. The absolute bottom line is that you can not win if you don't try and win, and taking a knee rather than trying to win is something I never want to see from a coach. If you have no faith in your offense with 26 seconds in regulation why on earth do you have faith in them in OT? It sends a terrible message and the results are what we saw. There's no loser point in OT, might as well have tried to win in regulation.
  4. this assumes anyone wants to give your anything worth a damn for an upcoming free agent who is pretty publically looking to get paid. Story is that the Bombers have offered him huge money already but he's still set on testing the market. Remember his agent is an epic level douchebag.
  5. Give me a break. Such a double standard lol Burke was the biggest mistake Mack made so even if Penton wants to slam Mack start with the #1 issues, terrible at picking head coaches.
  6. Everything I've heard from all parties on the situation, including the pregame interview Irving had with Henoc seems like the guy just wants to get paid and that his agent has convinced him there's some big time dollar bills out there to go get.
  7. it's already disastrous
  8. hiring him would be no different than hiring Lapo. We can do better. What's with the hate-on for Bellefuille? Who else is out there? And don't say Greg Marshall. There are a lot of people out there. Dave Dickenson, Tom Higgins, any number of assistants throughout the league. Bellefool had a shot at head coach and he peaked at painfully average, we can do better. Not being Gary Crowton isn't any kind of endorsement of his abilities as a coach.

cause he's a lousy coach as proven by his past experiences? Not like the offense did anything outside of the first quarter last night, that reflects on the coaching as much as it does the players. Edmonton made adjustments our offensive staff did nothing to counter those adjustments.

He's better than what we had. If he's not using Crowton's stuff, then there's no way the O can be very deep right now. He is better. Not long term please, but better. That is, with Hall at QB. We're running a better variety of plays (though limited). Our O is putrid and limited, especially with two new starting tackles and a new guard. But c'mon, who would have possibly thought we'd be moving the ball as well as we did in the opening of the game? First downs, rushing TD, passing TD and generally a CFL offence. The difference between what Hall brought us and what Goltz has shown is like 1st and 3rd downs. Hall may not be the long term answer, but he can stick around. Goltz? Don't see how he can stick around in any capacity. I'd like to see what we have in Boltus and especially Brown. We ain't got no more time for this year...let's see what we have in the pen. Is Hall doing any better than Elliott did last season? Seems to me that Halls big problem is that he can turn the ball over more than you like to see... We actually did move the ball pretty well in some games last season with Crowton and Elliott. I just don't see Bellefeuille as being any better. I understand that they had to fire Crowton, but expecting bellefool to fix things, sorry but that's not very inspiring. Then to hear Burke talk about him like he's some kind of guru... get ******.

it's not even about experience, there's lots of first time head coaches have success, you just need to hire people who are capable of doing the job, Burke has never been capable of being a HC. it was obvious last season, why we just handed the job to him I will never understand.
  13. But at least we could say we tried. In throwing that ball you have a percentage whatever that is with Goltz, taking a knee you have zero. I would even venture to say going for it gave us a better chance than hoping we could beat them in overtime. We had scored 7 points in three quarters. I know, it's easy to be a Saturday morning coach. if they try and fail then it's the players fault for not executing, not even trying is all Burkes fault.
  14. Flip side is why are their fans who hate Burke so much calling out his coaching ability yet treat Joe Mack with kid gloves? Saying that if we were more patient he'd have built a winner. There's absolutely no proof that would have ever happened. Why can't these fans be as critical of Mack as they are of Burke? This team doesn't have the talent & that was the responsibility of Joe Mack. we've been over this, I'm not being too easy on Mack, I'm just sticking up against a lot of the unfair criticisms that have been leveled at the guy. As for why I'm hating on Burke, well that much is obvious. 6-16 I think is his record as Bomber coach and most of those 16 losses were games that the team never ever had a chance to win. This is the worst Blue Bomber team I've ever had the misfortune of watching and that says a lot. Burke has been a turd of a head coach since his first game on the job (a rather memorable 52-0 loss)

I'm not convinced that that is all that accurate to be honest.
  16. I think Hall is kind of like good old Purolator Pat in that once he starts to get pressured good bye accuracy hello interceptions. If you can protect the guy he'll do fine but if not....
  17. The media in this town treat Burke with such kid gloves, guess it's because they love how candid he is and how they can always get good tidbits out of him. I would like to see them treat Burke with half the critical eye they put on Mack, it would be a slaughter for the poor guy cause he's made so many blunders in his short time as head coach.
  18. The defense played well at times, the biggest issue for me is how the offense completely disappeared after the first quarter. Yeah Hall started out real good but he got worse and worse as the game wore on. People need to stop pretending he was good the whole way through, now I'm not blaming him entirely for it, there were plenty of other problems going on there, but it's the same for all the qbs but one guy gets all the blame heaped on him while Hall seems to be getting a free pass and I don't like that.
  19. Did you see how comically bad the defense looked when cauchy got in there at the end? first thing he does is take a major penalty...
  20. Burke's argument was he had an ill prepared QB with just above zero playtime in the game Which is precisely why guaranteeing overtime against a hot QB with all the momentum was the worst decision he could have made, Yeah that is the biggest problem for me. OK you have no faith in your qb... you know that winning on defense in OT is next to impossible right? At some point in OT you have to rely on your offense. MIght as well have shown faith in them BEFORE over time and who knows maybe they make a flukey catch and get into scoring range.

To me it looked like the Esks made adjustments to our scheme after the first quarter. I guess it takes more than four weeks to rebuild a playbook.... That's working under the assumption that Bellefeuille is actually a quality offensive coordinator, he isn't one either.
  22. no kidding, at least try and get to midfield and let Renaud try and kick it into the endzone or something! Taking a knee shows no confidence in your offense and then you put them out in OT needing a TD and a 2 point convert, way to pump them up for that task.
  23. Takes a special kind of head coach to make me wish for MIke Kelly back.

    Burke first then Boatman.

With no experience they were far better than what we've used previously. Even if they were beat at least they got a piece of someone. None of this Boatman just lets them run past untouched nonsense.
