  1. The absolutely horrendous start last season made things look worse than they were. The biggest improvement that could be made by this team would be a little more consistency and that can happen with more players simply having that extra year of experience.
  2. But Schultz is an absolute moron. Seriously I don't think he really follows the league at all he just gets a point and they let him talk even if he has no clue. Climies point I can at least understand. He said that when he was a player he wanted to play, that's fine. Ultimately we won't know if it was a mistake or not until we see what the starters do.
  3. not really impressed with the Lions Demarco at qb here... have a very hard time believing that he's better than Elliott, situation to me sounds a lot like the Lions just liking the guy they had on the roster and wanted to develop him more but Elliott is there just in case something were to happen to Lulay.
  4. There is definitely a very good case to be made that Simpson is the top rb in the league. The fact that he was that far down the list shows that he might be the most under rated player in the league. If Crowton is as smart as everyone thinks he is Simpson is going to be a big part of whatever the Bombers do on offense.
  5. yeah pretty easy to have the most Grey Cups when for years they only played amongst themselves and tried their best to keep the west out and when they did let them in made them take a train ride all the way across the country first.
  6. Well my house is high and dry, but man the amount of water in the river is crazy... and I don't think Calgary is even the worst. Places like Canmore and High River really got hammered. So much rain the last couple weeks and having it pour so much the last few days in the mountains just adds so much volume to all the rivers. They're already high at this time of year with all the melt from the mountains, that much rain just pushes to to this kind of situation. Central Alberta is likely to get a lot of high water in the next day or so as well and possibly Edmonton as well as all of this stuff flows east.
  7. Ray at 3 and Owens at 1 was a joke. Owens wasn't #1 until Ray showed up and the argos were a total joke until Ray showed up. He's #1 in the league right now AINEC.
  8. both qbs really Goltzing it up out there.
  9. Here's the thread for the mass LOLing at their terrible selections. I only started watching at about #33 and didn't see Chad Simpson mentioned, that's almost as big a joke as Owens being named #1.
  10. cause blowing it all up has worked oh so well for the last 20 years.
  11. and we ******* cut Elliott to bring this guy in....
  12. but without knowing who blew their assignments it's hard to say stuff like that. They call it a team for a reason, everyone has to do their jobs or it breaks down.
  13. But Edwards is only missing one game if that, what's the point of making a change for Denmark when he's going to have to adjust to WR at some point? MIght as well keep him there from the get go. Honestly I think Pierce could play SB just as much as WR so what you'd really be talking about is Pierce vs. Anderson (who is likely to be Edwards one game replacement) that's a debate that i'll happily have, but I think when we talk about the roster we gotta assume Edwards is going to be a SB even if he is out for game one.
  14. well sure we all would, but where do you make up the extra NI starter?
  15. he learned that some of his dbs can catch the ball... maybe he's thinking of using them as receivers.
  16. instead he just made it unfair to both of them. As far as I'm concerned the only relevant parts of last nights game were the first half because the qbs in the second half were put in a poor position.
  17. no absolutely not, you are completely missing the point. No one has said we'll be alright so who cares. What people are saying is, STOP FREAKING OUT OVER GETTING SPANKED IN A GAME WHERE NO STARTERS PLAYED! You want to bring up questions about the team that's fine, there's lots of debate to be had there, but to use last nights game as proof of anything regarding the upcoming season is just a really terrible idea.
  18. I think in your never ending quest to find something to be outraged about you've missed the point here. The point of posting this is to remind people that while the game was a blowout it certainly doesn't prove anything about the team for this season because there were no starters there.
  19. from the sounds of it clement was what was expected, moves well but accuracy on the throws is inconsistent. Hall was the only real disppointment for me because he was showing better in camp and in the first preseason game. He's supposed to be a bit more polished and more accurate. Maybe it was just the circumstances of the game (blow out, rotating every other series) we likely won't find out for a while though as I think that it's pretty much written in stone now that Goltz is #2.
  20. I mean seriously, are we going to skewer Goltz because they couldn't make a play at the endzone with maybe, and I mean maybe one receiver who is going to be a starter? If he's throwing from near the goal line with Edwards and Matthews and Watson in the game I expect things to be a lot different. Are we skewering the offense because one of the backup NI rbs fumbled in a scoring position? How often do you see Chad Simpson put the ball on the ground in situations like that? Are you going to see Matthews or Edwards or those guyts volleying up passes to be picked off as regularly as we saw last night? Certain people on this board badly need to learn about perspective rather than just being so god damned negative all the time.
  21. it's ******* exhibition with B and C teamers, moving the ball IS enough. Ditch the shitty attitude and you'll worry far less about the results of preseason games.
  22. There were times they actually moved the ball, the defense all things considered did a solid job, again if you focus on the score and the turnovers only you're going to say it was a horrible game, and it was, but considering the roster there were enough things happened to say that it wasn't a total write off.
  23. Burke didn't like Elliott and Brink was too easy to defend. Pressure him and his accuracy goes out the window. There's lots to like about Goltz physical skills, he just needs experience. I said it at the time and I'll say it again, especially with Clement and Hall struggling, cutitng Elliott was a mistake because he was the closest the bombers had to a guy actually able to play once Pierce gets hurt.
