  1. I hear Joe Mack is available.....
  2. He's already said he would bring in a qb coach if he's here next season. I don't think we can take anything Burke says seriously anymore. He's become famous for saying something then changing his mind later.
  3. but this is the major sticking point... There's still a chance they retain Walters and Burke which is just more of the same hiring the cheapest option and hoping for the best. The Bombers haven't shown any sort of changes at all except that Walters is more willing to get into trade talks than the last guy was. That's not a lot.
  4. oh? Tell me what they are cause to me it seems like business as usual here from a players perspective. We don't know who the GM will be, we don't know who will be coaching, there's still no established star veteran players here, all we've done is trade a veteran qb for a backup receiver and trade arguably our top defensive player for a backup offensive lineman. How soon we forget the firings and placement of personnel that is the first step in plugging the dyke. That sent a massive shockwave throughout the league...people took notice. And it seems you're talking about our player's perspectives I was answering about outside our club. Some of the moves you mentioned just don't happen at this time of year...that gets noticed as well. It's quite obvious changes are on the horizon, but I agree the biggest and boldest moves are yet to come, What will cause FAs to consider Winnipeg as a viable team? 1) Snagging a "big name" starting QB. 2) Naming our next GM 3) Announcing who our next coach will be. I think what you're confusing is showing other GMs that Winnipeg wants to do business and showing players. Cause if I was a player I'd still see a team without a GM or coach right now, with a history of losing records, a team that fires a lot of coaches causing lots of turmoil... There is a hell of a lot of work to do to show players around the league that things are changing and it starts with hiring someone at GM or coach or both who has the ability to convince people that things are stable.

  6. well the logic would be getting the veteran who has proven himself for years vs. a guy who may or may not be able to become a full time starter.
  7. Hall is a guy who needs that extra bit of time. If he tries to rush his throws it's up for grabs by the defense, if he can throw it properly yeah he doesn't have the strongest arm but he can be pretty accurate.
  8. Dunno if you know or not but he also posts here from time to time.
  9. Burris sympathizer. No dumb ass qbs please. Funny that after all these years of poor QBing, we can still be too picky to accept the guy with the most passing yards in the league, an MOP award, a Grey Cup, a Grey Cup MVP, and a winning record Burris is no different than Kevin Glenn with the exception that one year he won a Grey Cup (which Glenn might have been able to do in 07 had he not gotten injured) Oh sure Burris might put up more yards in the summer time but he is the ultimate fair weather qb. Once things get tough he is useless. He is not a winner at all and he's all smiles when the team is doing good but if they aren't he's a prick with a bad attitude. Lot of real good teams in Calgary didn't get as far as they could in the playoffs because Burris isn't a winner. You think the riders and durant were really THAT good they got into the Grey Cup all the time? Hufnagel knew what he was doing when he ditched Burris.
  10. Burris sympathizer. No dumb ass qbs please.
  11. Well, at the time Denmark was playing god awful and deserved all the criticism he got. But, he turned it around and is playing fantastic right now. I was one of the people calling him to be benched so I won't hesitate to eat my words on that one or much more likely the guy wasn't being used correctly... they did move him to WR early in the year right? Despite him having a lot of success at slotback when he first broke into the league. Believe he's at slot again now.
  12. Cause Goltz didn't mask the insurmountable coaching problems so he's on Burkes **** list and there's no getting off that, why we haven't just cut the guy I do not know. Plus this way Bellefools little pet Boltus can get some "easy" stats.
  13. Collaros, Z TOR 183 276 66.3 2,251 56 13 4.7 6 2.2 98.0 Ray, R TOR 148 189 78.3 1,824 73 15 7.9 0 0.0 134.0 yeah... Collaros is better than Ray. that statline from Ray is ********. 15 tds and no interceptions, damned near 80% completions...
  14. pointless to try and speculate until we know who is going to be GM next year and what their plan is.
  15. the fact that he isn't starting regardless of what the ratio is doing is a travesty.
  16. He was demoted and then later decided to quit. He saw what Kelly was planning and got the **** out while the getting was good.
  17. It's coaching. Maybe the talent isn't the best in the league, especially at quarterback but my god the coaches are doing nothing to make anyone look better.
  18. keep it within 3 touchdowns and it's as good as a win.
  19. you didn't include TDs?
  20. There's only one guy dumb enough to value a young qb over Ricky Ray and that guy is now unemployable in the CFL. Ray simply put is hands down bar none the best quarterback in the CFL and if you think the Argos would protect Collaros over Ray you're out of your mind.
  21. Lol like it matters, they'll kick the crap out of us regardless.
  22. Kelly could have been a good coach and maybe GM as well if he had been able to put aside the ego, but that ego was so out of control he was actively hurting the team in a vain attempt to prove to people that he was a brilliant GM/HC
  23. he has been cut twice, crapped on by buano as "maxed out potential" and "uncoachable" a tag given to him here as well.. you realize there is more to being a qb then sort of running an offense and throwing the ball over them mountains, right? He calls ISO out for sticking to his guns regarding ettienne, but can't see that he doing the same for Eliot. Meh. They all suck. There's a difference between crapping on a guy no matter what and pointing out that no one has played qb for this team as well as Elliott has. I don't care what Buono said, Elliott was the best qb we've had in the last 2 seasons. It may not be a high bar but that's where it's set and to deny that is to show outstanding levels of ignorance.
  24. but duane forde didn't have him ranked that high!!!111!!
  25. of course Toronto and Hamilton are much better than they were back then too so which is the reality? Bottom line Kelly thought that booting an unpopular kevin glenn would score him points with the fans. Guy is that egotistical he wanted everyone to fall at his feet praising his brilliance.
