there is no KHL risk with Yakupov, he came to play in the OHL really young don't forget, people just like to pile on the kid cause they got a stick up their ass when he had the audacity to celebrate scoring goals. The reason Edmonton would want Kane would be to add size to their top 6, but I dunno that you get Yakupov for Kane. Sophmore slump doesn't drop the value or the consensus #1 draft choice in his draft year by that much. Gotta remember that as a rookie he did lead the Oilers in goal scoring.

Considering how little we used a running back as a receiver in the past few years, his hands of stone shouldn't be a big deal- as long as he hasn't contracted fumblitis. That was the past few years though, crowton aint here anymore, neither is lapo. What he did the last couple years is irrelevant. All you really have to do is watch the pre-season games, i think we saw more "screen" passes in those 2 pre-season games then we did all of last year. Plus we have a hell of a lot of evidence from past seasons of Marcel Bellefeuilles offenses to know that the guy likes to pass to his runningbacks a lot.

There is no risk with Yakupov. The kids problem last year was that Dallas Eakins misjudged the kind or person he is and sewered the kids confidence. He's one of the hardest working players out there but Eakins came in thinking he had to crack the whip and make an example of him. Not the case, Yakupov needed to be nurtured and taught how to play smarter but Eakins didn't do that. He threw him into the fire and criticized him when he got burned.

Don't think that will happen, tone is set. Mike O'Shea expects to make the playoffs and compete for the Grey Cup. Tim 'dear in the headlights' Burke, well, I would dare to say #1 in all time loser coaches for us, even ahead of Kelly and Reinbold, as at least those two took charge. Burke didn't take charge and set us up for failure. I think O'Shea, by years end, will be a front runner for coach of the year. I would tend to agree that Burke was the worst head coach I have ever seen this team employ. Now obviously there's a lot of years I wasn't around to see, but we've had some bad ones in the last 30 years and Burke was as bad or worse than all of them. Never have I seen a team fold at the first sign of adversity like last years team did and that all comes back on the guy who is supposed to lead this team. Actually, it comes back to the smarts of the man who thought Burke was the answer to replace LaPolice. And that includes some of those here who thought the same. I just don't see how anyone can spin this as a bad move... It's an entry level position that they created simply because they liked the guy as a guest coach. That to me seems like a smart way to do things. Hey we like what this guy is doing, let's create a spot for him on the staff and see if he grows into more than just a quality control coach.

and when you've fired as many coaches as the bombers have recently experienced rock solid coaches don't want to go through that ****. Let's face it the last decade this team has been dragged through all kinds of **** and it's going to take time to repair the reputation.

I said it in the offseason, it's the worst time to move west for the Bombers. Man I woulda loved to stay in the east just one more year. All you gotta worry about then is Ray, in the west it's tougher. But I guess this is all part of the pander to Southern Ontario mentality that the CFL is so fond of.

if nothing else this pre-season made me hopeful that Willy can get the job done. I liked a lot of things that the offense showed, I think they can be decent this year which let's face it is a huge step up from the last 3 or 4 years.
