  1. Did you just say that Brady was more cerebral than Khari Jones? Do people forget just how smart Khari was? Hell didn't the qbs basically end up taking over the offensive gameplanning in 2000 and that seemed to work out well. I don't know if the guy would wind up working out or not, but I already know that MB isn't going to be very exciting.
  2. The guy spent years as a CFL QB working under many different offensive coordinators, he has spent time as a qb coach presumably working with still more offensive coordinators including on of the best just this past year in Cortez. That to me is a guy who has seen enough different perspectives on offense in the CFL to not be tied to any one thing. Here's the thing with Khari, I want him back just cause he's a Bomber not a ******* Rider. Get him back where he belongs. Yeah he might not end up being a great offensive coordinator, but then again he might be, where as Bellefool has a lot of past experiences with the job to look at and say "not very impressive at all"
  3. Yeah, again feel the same way. They get a free pass at the qb position & we're left to struggle. I also get a sense that the City of Ottawa & the redblacks have a bit of self entitlement that WE owe THEM even though they ****** up twice. That the CFL better give us a good team or we won't support them. This whole idea that Ottawa has to be good instantly is just sickening. All because they couldn't drum up support for the team twice before. Are we so desperate for a 9th team that we bend over for a market that has never been strong? Hopefully they do find some good players for the team though so that when the dispersal draft hits we can bolster our roster.
  4. And Desjardins slammed the organization publicly by saying basically there wasn't even 3 players under contract to select so they had to choose Kohlert a free agent. I know our team is bad but to say we don't have 3 players under contract worth selecting? Well **** him. Shove it, Desjardins. well the bombers did have more FAs than anyone else, you could just look at it as they didn't have enough players under contract to leave anything appealing open to being taken.
  5. or it's a panic move to get someone experienced and quickly when there's not a lot of options readily available.
  6. you think he doesn't know what his value around the CFL is already? I don't know who his agent is but I guarantee that his agent knows the value of players in that position and there's not going to be a a huge deviation in what is offered for a guy like that so it will really come down to where he wants to be.
  7. Oh sure there were a hell of a lot of eyebrows raised when he got that job just because he was so bad to average as an offensive coordinator. Remember it was under his offense that everyone thought Calvillo was washed up and finished. The Riders offense didn't get anywhere above mediocrity with him and some how he got to be a head coach... I think he is a text book example of a well liked guy who because of being well liked gets lots and lots of chances despite not being overly good at the job.
  8. ugh that's a really big red flag for this bunch of people. You can do better than this guy at OC. Going to be another year of relying on the defense to bail out an ineffective offense I guess.
  9. Morley would be a good option as a backup I suppose, I just don't want the guy as a starter and I think a big problem was the complete lack of development for new offensive linemen so the veteran manages to stick just because he doesn't need as much polishing.
  10. yeah pretty much this.
  11. Oh what a low bar we set...
  12. you can spray febreeze on a pile of **** and it might smell a bit better but it's still a pile of ****.
  13. bluto over rating argo players? say it ain't so!
  14. Just going by what he said before this draft I think Walters has a very good handle on what is going to happen with all the FAs from his team. If he left a guy like Kohlert open then it's likely either because he wasn't sure he would re-sign or he'd be an easy re-sign. I mean Walters very strongly implied that FAs who were left unprotected that the Bombers wanted to re-sign knew what the deal was. Not like there's a real shortage of NI receivers here either, there's lots of bodies that are possibilities.
  15. disappointed to lose miles, he showed some real potential last year but on the other hand receivers are pretty straightforward to find.
  16. You mean guys like Foster? Gonna go ahead and disagree with you there. What other moves were there? The Neufeld trade? Well why don't we wait to see the guy play before we judge that one? There is really very little to go on for the guy at this point, it will be determined when they play some games next year. I still think the Foster for Buck trade was a good one... even if Foster ends up being a complete bust we weren't going back to Buck and it completely eliminates any chance of going back again this year. Ripping the bandaid oh yeah it was a trade just to get something for a guy you didn't want, but it's still a nothing trade and foster didn't exactly impress here.
  17. I really want to see who they wind up hiring as offensive line coach. Never was impressed with the development of any of the offensive linemen they brought in here be they canadian or american. Now either Joe Mack had absolutely no clue what to look for in players at that position or the coaching was just so bad that even if there was talent there they didn't do anything with it.
  18. bad coaching makes the talent look worse than it is, if the coaches they hire this year are worth a damn you'll see... though I would expect a significant amount of turnover on the roster anyway just because of the Ottawa situation and the number of free agents.
  19. I don't think the team is as talent devoid as it was after Reinbold. I think with good coaching there will be a lot of people surprised. Gotta remember just how little Burke got out of everyone. Even Lapolice got a ton more out of guys than Burke did.
  20. You mean guys like Foster? Gonna go ahead and disagree with you there. What other moves were there? The Neufeld trade? Well why don't we wait to see the guy play before we judge that one? There is really very little to go on for the guy at this point, it will be determined when they play some games next year. And what other moves would you have made with the season still in progress? Not the point, point is that there hasn't been enough for us to judge yet so we gotta hold off until there's enough to actually judge. Ahhh...no premature judging....but but..I really want to judge now....I might be wrong and that would be the worst thing ever! you still didn't answer the question... cause the question is absolutely ridiculous. Foster for Pierce was just a move to dump the guy but Foster didn't do **** while here so it's a total nothing trade, we can't judge the Hall trade cause the guy they got in return hasn't played a down, the Parenteau trade the guy got hurt right away so it's another nothing trade at this point. What is there to judge? Absolutely nothing. We don't know how good this new staff is because they haven't had a chance to recruit anyone or coach anyone. You want questions answered then ask questions that actually have answers.

  23. I'd give it a few more moves before you say he's got a very good grasp on things. Not saying he doesn't, but let's see how things shake out a bit, eh? He is saying all the right things. Give me ONE move he's made since mack was fired that was bad. we won't know that until they actually play some games though.
  24. nah it was pretty much the same thing as Walters said there.
  25. wow I think some of you over reacted, I didn't read that comment as slagging the guy just rightly pointing out that there's not a lot yet to judge him on but we should be able to tell before too long into the season.
