I agree. I think for the rest of the year Wheatfall and Clercius need to be the 1-2, Schoen I’m afraid while not *toast* won’t ever be what he was.
Demski is a good 3rd /sometimes deep threat, but again he’s never going to be healthy for a full season. It’s always going to be an ankle or something, especially with the way they beat the **** out of him with the close to LOS/RB type stuff they use him for. He just can’t be a consistent top option at this stage of his career.

Mitchell is a big unknown but I have to imagine he’d be able to do more than Sterns in this kind of offence. Even as a field stretcher like they used Pokey Wilson last year.

Add: Having Kody Case and Gavin Cobb as the only receivers on the PR is a catastrophic fail by the organization as a whole

Problem with Clercius is he's basically good at one thing.  When they've tried him on other routes he's struggled.  He's not quite what Wolitarsky was, but similar at Z.

Demski is kind of that release valve type guy.  He really needs to be the #4, oh D is so worried about the other 2-3 guys and forgot about him.  Let him beat guys in press in the score zone, find him on 2nd-3rd read in a route again where D loses him.  You shouldn't be running many plays for him downfield, and if it's covered you need to move off him, he's not the kind of guy who is going to win those contested plays very often.

Case is probably a more realistic version of what they want from Sterns.  Thicker, possession type guy.

That’s why having Sterns on the roster just baffles me. We don’t use quick crossers or stuff like that. We need taller downfield threats with long arms.

Collaros has never really vibed with a receiver like that.

More Darvin Adams, Greg Ellingson, Bailey, Fantuz.

Get some big possession receivers (height and core) and a couple guys that are legit vertical threats.

Wheatfall is a good fit, Clercius is a good fit, Demski is fine as a 4-5 guy.  They are missing 2 out of top 3 receivers right now.  Schoen isn't worth talking about because he's clearly playing at about 70%.  There's going to be no consistency there this season.

Game plan was terrible. You take what the defense is giving you when you’re up or in a one score game, not when your down over 20 in the fourth quarter. Worst outing of the season. Good news is we have two weeks to game plan and figure stuff out, I’m hoping we see a much better effort in two weeks, but the lack of adjustments were concerning.

So you'd rather throw 3 deep balls into quarters coverage and give them the ball back every possession?

The game plan from the start was not good and they gave up on the run way too early.  But you can't just come out and heave Hail Mary's every play even down 3 scores.  Wouldn't be productive toward changing that score line.

Fair enough. Just looked at the stats; 288 passing yards on 48 attempts. That’s ugly.

Yeah we don't really have the receivers to beat zone in any way.  Not much YAC.  Demski and Schoen are busted up from old/ongoing injuries.

I've liked Wheatfall on some screen/hitch looks into the field.

Our QB doesn't really run quick stuff.  But IMO at the moment we have one receiver out there who is a consistent battler for 50/50 balls, and that's Wheatfall.

Just a mess the past couple seasons trying to fill a couple receiver slots to build an offense.

Schoen had ten as well. They took away the deep ball, which is Wheatfall’s game. I don’t mind the ball distribution.

Gotta use the catch radius guys at all levels.  Same issue with Buck and Lawler.  Gotta know teams are going to play more zone to deal with vertical stuff especially if our OL is solid in pass pro.

Way too much Demski in that 5-10 yard range for me.  Danger zone for him.

Is it scheme? My fear from the beginning of cano was that we would have moderate success on offence early on... and then they would figure out Hogan and that would be it.

Hope he can make some adjustments before next game... because he sure as hell didn't during half time.

Our star receivers with Collaros have been all big dudes and Demski when he gets wide open.

Now we're using Demski as a possession receiver, Clercius is the reliable guy for Zach, Schoen is busted, Wheatfall looks to be a threat so he's not getting much space, Sterns is 5'7.

Who is Darvin Adams?  Bailey?  Clercius has taken Wolitarsky's spot.

We have done a terrible job of building a receiving corps to suit what our QB likes to do.

At the the risk of eating my words later in the year, I think this it for our run of success. There is nothing left to squeeze out of this tired group and Osh being about as aggressive as a Buddhist monk isn't helping. I think we are fighting BC for a playoff spot. Thank God we won the series.

Yeah.  This is silly.  You're in a echo chamber of laughable takes.

Collaros is going to get someone killed with some of those throws (kinda like how he got Schoen lit up time and again last season).

Turns out you need to catch the ball in traffic to beat zone.
