  1. Whatever Hank does, it works for him because he never gets hurt.

Has he ever missed any significant stretches with an injury?

I've seen him go into Frank mode without anyone cranking him.  Somedays he's his own worst enemy.

I think he tore his ACL in 1999.  At least that's what I read somewhere.

  2. Yeah, we have an injury, call up a guy we cut, and we don't miss a beat.

Seems like Mack has import receivers and DLs stacked up in his garage.

Zach was on the P/R.  We called back Marquis Frazier.  It will be interesting to see if Anderson has 3 more games like that one, it may be hard to get Gilmore back in the line-up.

  3. Thing is though, neither Glenn nor Burris are easy to get to. Burris is well protected and he's still a decent scrambler.

yeah that's true.  We got to him last year though, Muamba made him cry with those forced fumbles and hits when he was scrambling.  I still remember Muamba corking Burris a good one with a hard hit that he didn't like, and he got up in Muamba's face and you could tell he was crying about Muamba hitting him too hard.  It's too bad Burris has that kind of personality, it's one of the reasons I can't stand him and don't want him on my team.  I know he's got the tools to be a great one, but he's also a massive whiner who folds his tent and puts his toys away if he decides he doesn't want to play anymore.

  4. We got a lot of speed on our d to match the quickness with the exception of Fantuz that Hamilton has.

Yeah Hamilton's got crappy receivers.  We should definitely double-team Giguere all night.  And no Rod Black, that doesn't mean what you think it means.

  5. I sooooo disagree with this statement.  I sat in the upper deck at IGF last Thursday, marvelling at how open our SB's were over the middle, all night.  I'd judge Crowton based on how well he creates opportunities for his offense to make plays... multiple open receivers on most plays is a damn good start.

The Bombers' offensive woes thus far fall on the QB either a) making the safest read his first look, and B) not progressing through his reads.

That play where Buck was intercepted was a classic example.  Buck had locked onto his receiver, and even with a DB waving his arms in his face, Buck still tried to make the throw.  He couldn't just pull the ball down and run, or take a sack, he tried to thread the needle through the waving arms because he couldn't process what was going on.  I'm a big fan of Buck's, but even I can see the signs that he isn't 100% in the head anymore.

  6. I watched a bit of the last night's game again this morning, specifically paying attention to AC, and something was definitely bothering AC, and it wasn't just our defence.  He was pissed off almost from the first series, and kept looking at the bench and raising his hands in frustration.  This happened almost every time they failed to convert on second down.  I know our defence was great, but it was almost like Calvillo and his OC were feuding before the game even started, and AC already knew in advance that their game plan was ****.

  7. Yeah Pierce to Pierce!  That would be awesome!

Hank Burris is a lot like Glenn, you get to him early and hit him a few times, and he goes into his cry-baby mode and his game goes to pieces.  If he gets into a rhythm though he's deadly.  One of the best.  I hope Edmonton somehow lays some hurt on him this week.  Their offence is atrocious, but at least the defence should show something, I hope.

  8. Like Stoddard except it seems like they have him playing slot more often than Stoddard ever saw that position (possibly because when Stoddard was here our import receivers were too good to ever put him in the slot)

Kohlert has some sticky hands...always nice to have NI's who can actually catch the ball

  9. All right.  Wonder how banged up Edwards is.  It would be nice to have the flexibility to have a Doug Pierce able to sub in when/if a receiver goes down during the game.  That being said, Kohlert has proven to be a reliable target, especially against Montreal for some reason.

  10. I'm just impressed with our Canadian Receivers... Kohlert is 7 yards from our top 3 receivers being NI's

When was the last time our NI's were this impressive?

Why was Kohlert out there on that key grab?  Did Edwards get hurt?  Who was Kohlert subbing for?

  11. Great defense.  Playing with tremendous energy, Calvillo actually got his eyes downfield only on a handful of snaps.  So much for the big strike offence.  Looks like they need to search the offices for any pages that fell out of Trestman's playbook with plays in it that protect the QB and get the ball out of his hands quickly.

Our offence is brutal.  Best drive of Pierce's Bomber career on the 105 yarder.  Other than that, not a whole lot of positives.  Our run game is poorly designed and disguised.  It is rare that our back gets the ball with their momentum going north-south.  The blitz was handled a little better than last week, but not much better.  Matthews needs to catch the ball.  No idea what Crowton/Buck were thinking on most of the pass plays in the last 4 or so minutes of the game.  It was a miracle that Montreal did not pick one off.

Need to work on basics.  Carrying the ball, start there

I was watching the comedy of errors in the first quarter.  This team still makes way too many mistakes.  Will Ford just completely whiffs on a block, Hebert just walks around him, and nails Buck, right before he's about to find a wide open Jade Etienne.  So we have to kick a FG.  Palardy whiffs on the FG.  Just too many mistakes.

  12. There were a lot of things to like about the game last week.  The biggest thing for me was how the Bombers went down by 14 but came back and even lead the game for awhile.  In 2012 going down by 14 was a death sentence, it was just all downhill from there.  I remember that Edmonton game last year where we were down almost immediately and the slide just kept going - I think at one point we were down by like 35-0 or something.  That didn't happen last week, though it could have easily happened.  I am liking the fight this year.  I hope it keeps up.  These guys don't seem to like losing very much, unlike our guys last year, who always found time to yuck it up on the sidelines even when we were getting creamed.
